| 1 | ¶ Tasol em i kamap olsem, long taim Sanbalat i harim long mipela i wokim banis, em i belhat tru, na pilim bikpela bel nogut, na wokim pani long daunim ol Ju. | But it came to pass, that when Sanballat heard that we builded the wall, he was wroth, and took great indignation, and mocked the Jews. |
| 2 | Na em i toktok long ai bilong ol brata bilong em na ami bilong Samaria, na tok, Ol dispela Ju i no gat strong i mekim wanem? Ating ol bai strongim ol yet? Ating ol bai sakrifais? Ating ol bai wokim wanpela pinis long wanpela de? Ating ol bai kirapim gen ol ston ausait long ol dispela hip rabis i kuk olgeta? | And he spake before his brethren and the army of Samaria, and said, What do these feeble Jews? will they fortify themselves? will they sacrifice? will they make an end in a day? will they revive the stones out of the heaps of the rubbish which are burned? |

Na tanim pasin bilong givim sem bilong ol antap long het bilong ol yet, na givim ol olsem prais bilong pait insait long hap graun bilong kalabus. | Hear, O our God; for we are despised: and turn their reproach upon their own head, and give them for a prey in the land of captivity: |
| 5 | Na Yu no ken karamapim sin nogut bilong ol, na no ken rausim ol sin bilong ol long ai bilong Yu. Long wanem, ol i bin skrapim Yu long belhat long ai bilong ol man bilong wokim banis. | And cover not their iniquity, and let not their sin be blotted out from before thee: for they have provoked thee to anger before the builders. |

| 7 | ¶ Tasol em i kamap olsem, long taim Sanbalat, na Tobaia, na ol man Arabia, na ol man Amon, na ol man Asdot, i harim long mipela i stretim pinis ol banis bilong Jerusalem, na long ol bruk i stat long go pas, nau ol i belhat nogut tru. | But it came to pass, that when Sanballat, and Tobiah, and the Arabians, and the Ammonites, and the Ashdodites, heard that the walls of Jerusalem were made up, and that the breaches began to be stopped, then they were very wroth, |

| 10 | Na Juda i tok, Strong bilong ol man bilong karim ol kago i wok long dai, na i gat planti rabis i stap, inap long mipela i no inap long wokim banis. | And Judah said, The strength of the bearers of burdens is decayed, and there is much rubbish; so that we are not able to build the wall. |
| 11 | Na ol birua bilong mipela i tok, Ol bai i no inap save, o lukim tu, inap long mipela kam namel long ol, na kilim ol i dai, na mekim dispela wok long pinis. | And our adversaries said, They shall not know, neither see, till we come in the midst among them, and slay them, and cause the work to cease. |
| 12 | Na em i kamap olsem, long taim ol Ju husat i stap klostu long ol i kam, ol i tokim mipela tenpela taim, Long olgeta ples we yupela bai kam bek long mipela, ol bai stap antap long yupela. | And it came to pass, that when the Jews which dwelt by them came, they said unto us ten times, From all places whence ye shall return unto us they will be upon you. |
| 13 | Olsem na mi putim long ol ples daun baksait long banis, na antap long ol ples i antap moa, yes, mi putim ol manmeri i bihainim ol famili bilong ol wantaim ol bainat bilong ol, ol spia bilong tromoi bilong ol, na ol banara bilong ol. | Therefore set I in the lower places behind the wall, and on the higher places, I even set the people after their families with their swords, their spears, and their bows. |

Tingim gen Bikpela, husat i bikpela na i mekim ol man i pret nogut tru, na pait bilong helpim ol brata bilong yupela, ol pikinini man bilong yupela, na ol pikinini meri bilong yupela, ol meri bilong yupela, na ol hauslain bilong yupela. | And I looked, and rose up, and said unto the nobles, and to the rulers, and to the rest of the people, Be not ye afraid of them: remember the Lord, which is great and terrible, and fight for your brethren, your sons, and your daughters, your wives, and your houses. |

| 16 | ¶ Na em i kamap olsem, i stat long dispela taim i go, long namba tu hap bilong ol wokboi bilong mi i wokim wok, na arapela namba tu hap bilong ol i holim ol spia bilong tromoi, ol plang, na ol banara, na ol siot kapa wantaim. Na ol hetman i stap baksait long olgeta hauslain bilong Juda. | And it came to pass from that time forth, that the half of my servants wrought in the work, and the other half of them held both the spears, the shields, and the bows, and the habergeons; and the rulers were behind all the house of Judah. |
| 17 | Ol husat i wokim wok antap long banis, na ol husat i karim ol kago, wantaim ol husat i pulap wantaim ol hevi samting, olgeta wan wan wantaim wanpela han bilong em i wokim wok, na wantaim arapela han em i holim wanpela samting bilong pait. | They which builded on the wall, and they that bare burdens, with those that laded, every one with one of his hands wrought in the work, and with the other hand held a weapon. |

Na man husat i save winim biugel i stap klostu long mi. | For the builders, every one had his sword girded by his side, and so builded. And he that sounded the trumpet was by me. |
| 19 | Na mi tokim ol bikman, na ol hetman, na olgeta arapela manmeri, Dispela wok em i bikpela na traipela, na yumi stap bruk antap long banis, wanpela i stap longwe long narapela. | And I said unto the nobles, and to the rulers, and to the rest of the people, The work is great and large, and we are separated upon the wall, one far from another. |
| 20 | Olsem na long wanem ples yupela harim nois bilong biugel, yupela kam long dispela hap long mipela. God bilong yumi bai pait bilong helpim yumi. | In what place therefore ye hear the sound of the trumpet, resort ye thither unto us: our God shall fight for us. |
| 21 | Olsem na mipela hatwok long dispela wok. Na namba tu hap bilong ol i holim ol spia bilong tromoi, i stat long taim san i kam antap long moning i go inap long ol sta i kamap ples klia. | So we laboured in the work: and half of them held the spears from the rising of the morning till the stars appeared. |
| 22 | Wankain olsem, long dispela taim stret, mi tokim ol manmeri, Larim olgeta wan wan man wantaim wokboi bilong em slip insait long Jerusalem, inap long nait ol i ken i stap wanpela wasman bilong yumi, na hatwok long taim bilong san. | Likewise at the same time said I unto the people, Let every one with his servant lodge within Jerusalem, that in the night they may be a guard to us, and labour on the day. |
| 23 | Olsem na mi, o ol ol brata bilong mi, o ol wokboi bilong mi, o ol man bilong ol wasman husat i bihainim mi tu, i no gat wanpela bilong mipela husat i bin rausim ol klos bilong em, olgeta wan wan i rausim ol bilong wasim ol tasol. | So neither I, nor my brethren, nor my servants, nor the men of the guard which followed me, none of us put off our clothes, saving that every one put them off for washing. |
