¶ Ating i yes long mi wanpela aposel? Ating i yes long mi stap fri? Ating i yes long mi bin lukim Jisas Kraist, Bikpela bilong yumi? Ating i yes long yupela i wok bilong mi insait long Bikpela? | Am I not an apostle? am I not free? have I not seen Jesus Christ our Lord? are not ye my work in the Lord?
Sapos mi no wanpela aposel long ol arapela, tasol i mas tru olgeta mi stap wanpela long yupela. Long wanem, yupela i stap mak bilong wok aposel bilong mi insait long Bikpela. | If I be not an apostle unto others, yet doubtless I am to you: for the seal of mine apostleship are ye in the Lord.
¶ Bekim bilong mi long ol husat i skelim mi gut em dispela, | Mine answer to them that do examine me is this,
Ating i yes long mipela i gat pawa long kaikai na dring? | Have we not power to eat and to drink?
Ating i yes long mipela i gat pawa long stiaim nabaut wanpela susa, wanpela meri bilong mipela, wankain olsem ol arapela aposel, na olsem ol brata bilong Bikpela, na Sifas? | Have we not power to lead about a sister, a wife, as well as other apostles, and as the brethren of the Lord, and Cephas?
O mi wanpela na Banabas, ating i yes long mipela i gat pawa long lusim wok? | Or I only and Barnabas, have not we power to forbear working?
Husat i givim wok long em yet na go long bikpela pait wanpela taim? Husat i planim gaden wain, na em i no kaikai long kaikai bilong en? O husat i givim kaikai long wanpela lain sipsip, na i no kaikai long susu bilong dispela lain sipsip? | Who goeth a warfare any time at his own charges? who planteth a vineyard, and eateth not of the fruit thereof? or who feedeth a flock, and eateth not of the milk of the flock?
Ating mi tokim ol dispela samting olsem wanpela man? O ating i yes long lo i toktok long wankain samting tu? | Say I these things as a man? or saith not the law the same also?
Long wanem, rait i stap pinis long lo bilong Moses, Yu no ken pasim maus bilong bulmakau man husat i krungutim wit samting. Ating God i wari long ol bulmakau man? | For it is written in the law of Moses, Thou shalt not muzzle the mouth of the ox that treadeth out the corn. Doth God take care for oxen?
O em i tokim dispela olgeta long tingim yumi? Long tingim yumi, i mas tru olgeta, em i raitim dispela. Inap long em husat i brukim graun i ken brukim graun wantaim hop. Na inap long em husat i klinim wit samting wantaim hop i ken kisim hap bilong dispela hop bilong em. | Or saith he it altogether for our sakes? For our sakes, no doubt, this is written: that he that ploweth should plow in hope; and that he that thresheth in hope should be partaker of his hope.
Sapos mipela i bin planim long yupela ol spirit sait samting, ating em i bikpela samting sapos mipela bai kamautim bilong ol bodi sait samting bilong yupela? | If we have sown unto you spiritual things, is it a great thing if we shall reap your carnal things?
Sapos ol arapela i kisim hap bilong dispela pawa long bosim yupela, ating i yes long i mobeta long mipela i ken? Tasol mipela i no bin yusim dispela pawa. Tasol mipela i larim olgeta samting, nogut mipela i ken pasim rot bilong gutnius bilong Kraist. | If others be partakers of this power over you, are not we rather? Nevertheless we have not used this power; but suffer all things, lest we should hinder the gospel of Christ.
Ating i yes long yupela i save long ol husat i wokim wok long sait bilong ol samting holi i stap laip long ol samting bilong tempel, na ol husat i mekim wok long alta i ol man bilong kisim hap wantaim dispela alta? | Do ye not know that they which minister about holy things live of the things of the temple? and they which wait at the altar are partakers with the altar?
Yes, olsem tasol Bikpela i bin makim inap long ol husat i autim gutnius i ken stap laip long gutnius. | Even so hath the Lord ordained that they which preach the gospel should live of the gospel.
¶ Tasol mi no bin yusim wanpela bilong ol dispela samting. Na tu mi no bin raitim ol dispela samting, long yupela i mas mekim olsem long mi. Long wanem, em i gutpela moa long mi ken dai, moa long wanpela man i ken mekim taim mi glori i kamap samting nating. | But I have used none of these things: neither have I written these things, that it should be so done unto me: for it were better for me to die, than that any man should make my glorying void.
Long wanem, maski mi autim gutnius, mi no gat wanpela samting long glori long en. Long wanem, God i putim nid tru antap long mi. Yes, tok lukaut i stap long mi, sapos mi no autim gutnius! | For though I preach the gospel, I have nothing to glory of: for necessity is laid upon me; yea, woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel!
Long wanem, sapos mi mekim dispela samting wantaim laik, mi gat wanpela pe. Tasol sapos em i birua long laik bilong mi, wanpela wok bilong tilim gutnius God i putim long han bilong mi. | For if I do this thing willingly, I have a reward: but if against my will, a dispensation of the gospel is committed unto me.
Pe bilong mi em wanem nau? Tru tumas long, taim mi autim gutnius, mi no ken makim pe long gutnius bilong Kraist, inap long mi no bagarapim nogut pawa bilong mi insait long gutnius. | What is my reward then? Verily that, when I preach the gospel, I may make the gospel of Christ without charge, that I abuse not my power in the gospel.
¶ Long wanem, maski mi stap fri long olgeta man, yet mi bin mekim mi yet wokboi bilong olgeta, inap long mi ken winim planti man moa. | For though I be free from all men, yet have I made myself servant unto all, that I might gain the more.
Na long ol Ju mi kamap olsem wanpela Ju, inap long mi ken winim ol Ju. Long ol husat i stap aninit long lo, olsem mi stap aninit long lo, inap long mi ken winim ol husat i stap aninit long lo, | And unto the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might gain the Jews; to them that are under the law, as under the law, that I might gain them that are under the law;
Long ol husat i no gat lo, olsem mi no gat lo, ( na mi no stap man i no gat long lo long God, tasol aninit long lo long Kraist,) inap long mi ken winim ol husat i no gat lo. | To them that are without law, as without law, (being not without law to God, but under the law to Christ,) that I might gain them that are without law.
Long ol man i no gat strong mi kamap olsem mi no gat strong, inap long mi ken winim ol man i no gat strong. Mi kamap olgeta samting long olgeta man, inap long mi ken, long olgeta kain rot, kisim bek sampela. | To the weak became I as weak, that I might gain the weak: I am made all things to all men, that I might by all means save some.
Na dispela mi mekim long tingim gutnius, inap long mi ken kisim hap bilong en wantaim yupela. | And this I do for the gospel’s sake, that I might be partaker thereof with you.
¶ Ating i yes long yupela i save long ol husat i ran long resis, olgeta i ran, tasol wanpela i kisim prais? Ran olsem, inap long yupela i ken kisim. | Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain.
Na olgeta wan wan man husat i pait strong bilong winim tru i bosim bodi gut long olgeta samting. Nau ol i mekim dispela long kisim wanpela hat king i bagarap. Tasol yumi mekim bilong kisim wanpela i no inap bagarap. | And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible.
Olsem na mi ran olsem, i no olsem mi no klia. Mi pait olsem, i no olsem wanpela husat i paitim paitim win nating. | I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air:
Tasol mi mekim bodi bilong mi stap aninit, na bringim em aninit long laik bilong mi. Nogut long wanpela rot, taim mi bin autim tok long ol arapela, mi mi yet i ken kamap wanpela samting bilong tromoi. | But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.
