¶ Yupela i mas bihainim mi, yes, olsem mi tu i bilong Kraist. | Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ.
Nau mi givim biknem long yupela, ol brata, long yupela i holim tingting long mi long olgeta samting, na yupela bihainim ol lo God i makim, olsem mi bin givim ol long yupela. | Now I praise you, brethren, that ye remember me in all things, and keep the ordinances, as I delivered them to you.
Tasol mi gat laik long yupela i ken save, long het bilong olgeta wan wan man em Kraist. Na het bilong meri em man. Na het bilong Kraist em God. | But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God.
Olgeta wan wan man taim em i beten o autim tok profet, taim em i karamapim het bilong em, i bagarapim ona bilong het bilong em. | Every man praying or prophesying, having his head covered, dishonoureth his head.
Tasol olgeta wan wan meri husat i no karamapim het bilong em taim em i beten o autim tok profet i bagarapim ona bilong het bilong em. Long wanem, yes, dispela em i wankain olsem sapos em i bin sevim het bilong em. | But every woman that prayeth or prophesieth with her head uncovered dishonoureth her head: for that is even all one as if she were shaven.
Long wanem, sapos meri i no karamapim het bilong em, larim em tu katim gras olgeta. Tasol sapos em i stap samting bilong sem long meri long katim gras olgeta o sevim het, larim em karamapim het bilong em. | For if the woman be not covered, let her also be shorn: but if it be a shame for a woman to be shorn or shaven, let her be covered.
Long wanem, em i tru long em i gutpela long man i no karamapim het bilong em, bikos em i piksa na glori bilong God. Tasol meri em i glori bilong man. | For a man indeed ought not to cover his head, forasmuch as he is the image and glory of God: but the woman is the glory of the man.
Long wanem, man i no kam pastaim long meri, tasol meri i kam long man. | For the man is not of the woman; but the woman of the man.
Na tu God i no kamapim man long nating bilong helpim meri, tasol em i kamapim meri bilong helpim man. | Neither was the man created for the woman; but the woman for the man.
Long dispela as meri i mas gat pawa antap long het bilong em, bilong wanem, ol ensel i stap. | For this cause ought the woman to have power on her head because of the angels.
Tasol man tu i no stap wanpela ausait long meri, na tu meri i no stap wanpela ausait long man, insait long Bikpela. | Nevertheless neither is the man without the woman, neither the woman without the man, in the Lord.
Long wanem, olsem meri i kam long man, yes, olsem tasol man tu i kam long meri. Tasol olgeta samting i kam long God. | For as the woman is of the man, even so is the man also by the woman; but all things of God.
Jasim insait long yupela yet. Em i fit tru long wanpela meri i beten long God taim em i no karamapim het bilong em? | Judge in yourselves: is it comely that a woman pray unto God uncovered?
Yes, ating i yes long samting bilong bodi sait em yet i skulim yupela, long, sapos man i gat longpela gras, em i samting bilong sem long em? | Doth not even nature itself teach you, that, if a man have long hair, it is a shame unto him?
Tasol sapos meri i gat longpela gras, dispela em i glori long em. Long wanem, God i givim em gras bilong em bilong samting bilong karamapim. | But if a woman have long hair, it is a glory to her: for her hair is given her for a covering.
Tasol sapos wanpela man i luk olsem man i laik pait strong long dispela, yumi i no gat kain kastam olsem, na tu ol sios bilong God. | But if any man seem to be contentious, we have no such custom, neither the churches of God.
¶ Nau long dispela samting mi tokaut i go long yupela mi no givim biknem long yupela, long yupela i no kam bung wantaim bilong kamap gutpela moa, tasol bilong kamap nogut moa. | Now in this that I declare unto you I praise you not, that ye come together not for the better, but for the worse.
Long wanem, namba wan bilong olgeta, taim yupela i kam bung wantaim insait long sios, mi harim long i gat ol bruk namel long yupela. Na mi bilipim hap bilong en. | For first of all, when ye come together in the church, I hear that there be divisions among you; and I partly believe it.
Long wanem, i mas gat tu ol giaman bilip namel long yupela, inap long ol husat i orait long ai bilong God i ken kamap ples klia namel long yupela. | For there must be also heresies among you, that they which are approved may be made manifest among you.
Olsem na taim yupela i kam bung wantaim long wanpela ples, dispela em i no long kaikai kaikai bilong Bikpela. | When ye come together therefore into one place, this is not to eat the Lord’s supper.
Long wanem, taim yupela i kaikai, olgeta wan wan i kisim kaikai bilong em yet bipo long ol arapela. Na wanpela i hangre, na narapela i pulap olgeta. | For in eating every one taketh before other his own supper: and one is hungry, and another is drunken.
Wanem? Ating i yes long yupela i gat ol haus long kaikai na dring insait long ol? O yupela i tingim olsem sios bilong God i samting nating, na yupela i givim sem long ol husat i no gat kaikai? Bai mi tok wanem long yupela? Bai mi givim biknem long yupela long dispela? Mi no givim biknem long yupela. | What? have ye not houses to eat and to drink in? or despise ye the church of God, and shame them that have not? What shall I say to you? shall I praise you in this? I praise you not.
¶ Long wanem, mi bin kisim long Bikpela dispela samting tu mi bin givim long yupela, Long Bikpela Jisas, long dispela nait stret long Judas i putim em long han bilong birua, i kisim bret. | For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, That the Lord Jesus the same night in which he was betrayed took bread:
Na taim em i bin givim tok tenkyu, em i brukim, na tok, Kisim, kaikai. Dispela em i bodi bilong mi, dispela i bruk bilong helpim yupela. Mekim dispela long holim tingting long mi. | And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me.
I bihainim dispela wankain pasin tu em i kisim dispela kap, taim em i bin kaikai pinis, i spik, Dispela kap em nupela testamen long blut bilong mi. Dispela yupela i mekim, hamas taim yupela i dringim dispela, long holim tingting long mi. | After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me.
Long wanem, hamas taim yupela i kaikai dispela bret, na dring long dispela kap, yupela i soim dai bilong Bikpela inap long taim em i kam. | For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord’s death till he come.
Olsem na husat man bai kaikai long dispela bret, na dring long dispela kap bilong Bikpela, taim em i no gat namba inap inap long en, bai gat asua long bodi na blut bilong Bikpela. | Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord.
Tasol larim wanpela man skelim gut em yet, na olsem tasol larim em kaikai long dispela bret, na dring long dispela kap. | But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup.
Long wanem, em husat i kaikai na dringim taim em i no inap, i kaikai na dringim pe nogut bilong kot long em yet, taim em i no klia tru long bodi bilong Bikpela. | For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord’s body.
Long dispela as planti i no gat strong na ol lain i sik i planti namel long yupela, na planti i slip pinis. | For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep.
Long wanem, sapos yumi i ken jasim yumi yet, yumi no ken stap aninit long kot. | For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged.
Tasol taim yumi stap aninit long kot, Bikpela i stikim yumi, inap long yumi i no ken lus long kot wantaim ol man bilong dispela graun. | But when we are judged, we are chastened of the Lord, that we should not be condemned with the world.
Olsem na, ol brata bilong mi, taim yupela i kam bung wantaim long kaikai, stap yet wanpela bilong helpim narapela. | Wherefore, my brethren, when ye come together to eat, tarry one for another.
Na sapos wanpela man i hangre, larim em kaikai long haus bilong em, inap long yupela i no kam bung wantaim bilong soim klia rong. Na ol arapela samting mi bai stretim gut taim mi kam. | And if any man hunger, let him eat at home; that ye come not together unto condemnation. And the rest will I set in order when I come.
