1 Israel for dit med allt det honom tillhörde. Och då han kom til BerSaba, offrade han et offer sins faders Isaacs Gudi. And Israel took his journey with all that he had, and came to Beer–sheba, and offered sacrifices unto the God of his father Isaac.
2 Och Gud sade til honom om nattena i ene syn: Jacob, Jacob. Han sade: Här är jag. And God spake unto Israel in the visions of the night, and said, Jacob, Jacob. And he said, Here am I.
3 Och han sade: Jag är Gud, dins faders Gud, frukta dig icke at fara in i Egypten: Förty, der will jag göra dig til et mägtigt folk. And he said, I am God, the God of thy father: fear not to go down into Egypt; for I will there make of thee a great nation:
4 Jag will fara dit med dig, och will åter föra dig derut. Och Joseph skall lägga sina hand uppå din ögon. I will go down with thee into Egypt; and I will also surely bring thee up again: and Joseph shall put his hand upon thine eyes.
5 Då for Jacob ifrå BerSaba. Och Israels barn förde Jacob sin fader, med sin barn och hustrur, på wagnomen, som Pharao hade sändt til at föra dem med. And Jacob rose up from Beer–sheba: and the sons of Israel carried Jacob their father, and their little ones, and their wives, in the wagons which Pharaoh had sent to carry him.
6 Och togo sin boskap och håfwor, som de förwärfwat hade i Canaans lande, och kommo så in uti Egypten, Jacob och all hans säd med honom: And they took their cattle, and their goods, which they had gotten in the land of Canaan, and came into Egypt, Jacob, and all his seed with him:
7 Hans barn och hans barnabarn med honom, hans döttrar, och hans barns döttrar, och all hans säd. His sons, and his sons’ sons with him, his daughters, and his sons’ daughters, and all his seed brought he with him into Egypt.
8 Desse äro Israels barns namn, de som kommo i Egypten: Jacob och hans söner. Jacobs förstfödde son Ruben. And these are the names of the children of Israel, which came into Egypt, Jacob and his sons: Reuben, Jacob’s firstborn.
9 Rubens barn: Hanoch, Pallu, Hetsron och Charmi. And the sons of Reuben; Hanoch, and Phallu, and Hezron, and Carmi.
10 Simeons barn: Jemuel, Jamin, Ohad, Jachin, Zohar, och Saul den Cananeeska qwinnones son. And the sons of Simeon; Jemuel, and Jamin, and Ohad, and Jachin, and Zohar, and Shaul the son of a Canaanitish woman.
11 Levi barn: Gerson, Kehat och Merari. And the sons of Levi; Gershon, Kohath, and Merari.
12 Juda barn: Er, Onan, Sela, Perez och Serah. Men Er och Onan dödde i Canaans lande. Men Perez barn: Hezron och Hamul. And the sons of Judah; Er, and Onan, and Shelah, and Pharez, and Zerah: but Er and Onan died in the land of Canaan. And the sons of Pharez were Hezron and Hamul.
13 Isaschars barn: Thola, Phuva, Job och Simron. And the sons of Issachar; Tola, and Phuvah, and Job, and Shimron.
14 Sebulons barn: Sered, Elon och Jahleel. And the sons of Zebulun; Sered, and Elon, and Jahleel.
15 Desse äro barnen af Lea, som hon födde Jacob i Mesopotamien, med sine dotter Dina: De göra tilhopa alle, med söner och döttrar, tre och tretio själar. These be the sons of Leah, which she bare unto Jacob in Padan–aram, with his daughter Dinah: all the souls of his sons and his daughters were thirty and three.
16 Gads barn: Ziphion, Haggi, Suni, Ezbon, Eri, Arodi och Areli. And the sons of Gad; Ziphion, and Haggi, Shuni, and Ezbon, Eri, and Arodi, and Areli.
17 Assers barn: Jimna, Jisua, Jisui, Brya; och Serah, deras syster. Men Bryas barn: Heber och Malchiel. And the sons of Asher; Jimnah, and Ishuah, and Isui, and Beriah, and Serah their sister: and the sons of Beriah; Heber, and Malchiel.
18 Desse äro Silpas barn, som Laban gaf Lea sine dotter, och födde Jacob dessa sexton själar. These are the sons of Zilpah, whom Laban gave to Leah his daughter, and these she bare unto Jacob, even sixteen souls.
19 Rachels Jacobs hustrus barn: Joseph och BenJamin. The sons of Rachel Jacob’s wife; Joseph, and Benjamin.
20 Och Joseph wordo födde i Egypten, Manasse och Ephraim, som honom födde Asnath Potiphera dotter Prestens i On. And unto Joseph in the land of Egypt were born Manasseh and Ephraim, which Asenath the daughter of Poti–pherah priest of On bare unto him.
21 BenJamins barn: Bela, Becher, Assberl, Gera, Naaman, Ehi, Ros, Muppim, Huppim och Ard. And the sons of Benjamin were Belah, and Becher, and Ashbel, Gera, and Naaman, Ehi, and Rosh, Muppim, and Huppim, and Ard.
22 Desse äro barnen af Rachel, som Jacob födde äro; alle tilhopa fjorton själar. These are the sons of Rachel, which were born to Jacob: all the souls were fourteen.
23 Dans barn: Husim. And the sons of Dan; Hushim.
24 Naphtali barn: Jahzeel, Guni, Jezer och Sillem. And the sons of Naphtali; Jahzeel, and Guni, and Jezer, and Shillem.
25 Desse äro Bilhas barn, som Laban hade gifwit sine dotter Rachel, och födde Jacob dessa sju själar. These are the sons of Bilhah, which Laban gave unto Rachel his daughter, and she bare these unto Jacob: all the souls were seven.
26 Alla själar som kommo med Jacob in i Egypten, som utgångne woro af hans länd, undantagande hans barnahustrur, äro alle tilsamman sex och sextio själar. All the souls that came with Jacob into Egypt, which came out of his loins, besides Jacob’s sons’ wives, all the souls were threescore and six;
27 Och Josephs barn, som honom wordo födde i Egypten, woro twå själar: Så at alla Jacobs hus själar, som kommo in i Egypten, woro sjutio. And the sons of Joseph, which were born him in Egypt, were two souls: all the souls of the house of Jacob, which came into Egypt, were threescore and ten.
28 Och han sände Juda för sig til Joseph, at han skulle wisa honom wägen til Gosen; och de kommo in i landet Gosen. And he sent Judah before him unto Joseph, to direct his face unto Goshen; and they came into the land of Goshen.
29 Då spände Joseph före sin wagn, och for ut emot Israel sin fader til Gosen. Och då han fick se honom, föll han om hans hals, och gret swårliga på hans hals. And Joseph made ready his chariot, and went up to meet Israel his father, to Goshen, and presented himself unto him; and he fell on his neck, and wept on his neck a good while.
30 Då sade Israel til Joseph: Nu will jag gerna dö, efter det jag hafwer sett ditt ansikte, at du ännu lefwer. And Israel said unto Joseph, Now let me die, since I have seen thy face, because thou art yet alive.
31 Joseph sade til sina bröder och sin faders hus: Jag will fara up, och underwisa der Pharao, och säga til honom: Mine broder och mins faders hus är kommit til mig utaf Canaans land; And Joseph said unto his brethren, and unto his father’s house, I will go up, and shew Pharaoh, and say unto him, My brethren, and my father’s house, which were in the land of Canaan, are come unto me;
32 Och äro herdar, ty det är sådana folk, som med boskap umgå plägar: Deras får och fä, och allt det de hafwa, hafwa de fört med sig. And the men are shepherds, for their trade hath been to feed cattle; and they have brought their flocks, and their herds, and all that they have.
33 Då nu Pharao warder eder kallandes, och säger: Hwad är edar handel? And it shall come to pass, when Pharaoh shall call you, and shall say, What is your occupation?
34 Så skolen I säga: Dine tjenare äro folk, som med boskap umgå ifrå wår barndom allt här til, både wi och wåre fäder, på det I må få bo i det landet Gosen: Förty alle herdar äro såsom en styggelse för de Egyptier. That ye shall say, Thy servants’ trade hath been about cattle from our youth even until now, both we, and also our fathers: that ye may dwell in the land of Goshen; for every shepherd is an abomination unto the Egyptians.
