1 Och Aarons söner, Nadab och Abihu, togo hwar sitt rökelsekar, och lade eld deruti, och lade rökwerk deruppå, och båro främmande eld fram för HERran, det han dem icke budit hade. And Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron, took either of them his censer, and put fire therein, and put incense thereon, and offered strange fire before the Lord, which he commanded them not.
2 Då kom en eld ut ifrå HERranom, och förtärde dem, så at de blefwo döde för HERranom. And there went out fire from the Lord, and devoured them, and they died before the Lord.
3 Då sade Mose til Aaron: Detta är det HERren sagt hafwer: Jag skall warda helgader på dem som nalkas mig, och för allo folke skall jag härlig hållen warda. Och Aaron tigde stilla. Then Moses said unto Aaron, This is it that the Lord spake, saying, I will be sanctified in them that come nigh me, and before all the people I will be glorified. And Aaron held his peace.
4 Men Mose kallade til sig Misael och Elzaphan Usiels söner, Aarons faderbroders, och sade til dem: Går fram, och bärer edra bröder här ut af helgedomenom, ut för lägret. And Moses called Mishael and Elzaphan, the sons of Uzziel the uncle of Aaron, and said unto them, Come near, carry your brethren from before the sanctuary out of the camp.
5 Och de gingo fram, och båro dem med deras linne kjortlar ut för lägret; såsom Mose sagt hade. So they went near, and carried them in their coats out of the camp; as Moses had said.
6 Då sade Mose til Aaron, och hans söner, Eleazar och Ithamar: I skolen icke blotta edor hufwud, icke heller rifwa edor kläder, at I icke dön, och wrede kommer öfwer hela menighetena: Låter edra bröder af hela Israels hus gråta öfwer denna branden, som HERren gjort hafwer. And Moses said unto Aaron, and unto Eleazar and unto Ithamar, his sons, Uncover not your heads, neither rend your clothes; lest ye die, and lest wrath come upon all the people: but let your brethren, the whole house of Israel, bewail the burning which the Lord hath kindled.
7 Men I skolen intet gå ut igenom dörena af wittnesbördsens tabernakel; annars kunden I dö: Ty HERrans smörjoolja är på eder. Och de gjorde såsom Mose sade. And ye shall not go out from the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, lest ye die: for the anointing oil of the Lord is upon you. And they did according to the word of Moses.
8 Men HERren talade med Aaron, och sade: And the Lord spake unto Aaron, saying,
9 Du och dine söner med dig skola icke dricka win eller starka drycker, när I gån in uti wittnesbördsens tabernakel, at i icke skolen dö. Det ware en ewig rätt allom edrom efterkommandom: Do not drink wine nor strong drink, thou, nor thy sons with thee, when ye go into the tabernacle of the congregation, lest ye die: it shall be a statute for ever throughout your generations:
10 At I mågen åtskilja hwad heligt och oheligt, hwad rent och orent är: And that ye may put difference between holy and unholy, and between unclean and clean;
11 Och at I mågen lära Israels barn alla rätter, som HERren til eder genom Mose sagt hafwer. And that ye may teach the children of Israel all the statutes which the Lord hath spoken unto them by the hand of Moses.
12 Och Mose talade med Aaron, och med hans återlefda söner, Eleazar och Ithamar: Tager det öfwerblifwit är af spisoffret af HERrans offer, och äter det osyradt wid altaret; ty det är det aldrahelgasta. And Moses spake unto Aaron, and unto Eleazar and unto Ithamar, his sons that were left, Take the meat offering that remaineth of the offerings of the Lord made by fire, and eat it without leaven beside the altar: for it is most holy:
13 Och I skolen ätat på et heligt rum, ty det är din rätt, och dina söners rätt af HERrans offer; ty så är mig budit. And ye shall eat it in the holy place, because it is thy due, and thy sons’ due, of the sacrifices of the Lord made by fire: for so I am commanded.
14 Weftebröstet och häfwebogen skalt du och dine söner, och dina döttrar med dig, äta på rent rum; ty denne rätten är dig och dina söner gifwen til Israels barns tackoffer. And the wave breast and heave shoulder shall ye eat in a clean place; thou, and thy sons, and thy daughters with thee: for they be thy due, and thy sons’ due, which are given out of the sacrifices of peace offerings of the children of Israel.
15 Ty häfwebogen och weftebröstet, med dess fetas offer, skola inbäras, at de skola warda weftade til weftoffer för HERranom. Derföre är det ditt och dina barns til en ewig rätt; såsom HERren budit hafwer. The heave shoulder and the wave breast shall they bring with the offerings made by fire of the fat, to wave it for a wave offering before the Lord; and it shall be thine, and thy sons’ with thee, by a statute for ever; as the Lord hath commanded.
16 Och Mose sökte efter syndoffrens bock; och fann honom wara upbrändan. Och han wardt wred öfwer Eleazar och Ithamar Aarons söner, de ännu igenlefde woro; och sade: And Moses diligently sought the goat of the sin offering, and, behold, it was burnt: and he was angry with Eleazar and Ithamar, the sons of Aaron which were left alive, saying,
17 Hwi hafwen I icke ätit syndoffret på heligt rum, efter det är det aldrahelgasta, och han hafwer gifwit eder det, på det I skolen bära menighetenes missgerningar, och försona dem för HERranom? Wherefore have ye not eaten the sin offering in the holy place, seeing it is most holy, and God hath given it you to bear the iniquity of the congregation, to make atonement for them before the Lord?
18 Si, hans blod är icke kommen in uti det helga: I skullen hafwa ätit det in i det helga, såsom mig budit är. Behold, the blood of it was not brought in within the holy place: ye should indeed have eaten it in the holy place, as I commanded.
19 Men Aaron sade til Mose: Si, i dag hafwa de offrat deras syndoffer, och deras bränneoffer för HERranom, och mig är så gångit som du ser. Skulle jag i dag äta af syndoffer, och wara wid godt mod för HERranom? And Aaron said unto Moses, Behold, this day have they offered their sin offering and their burnt offering before the Lord; and such things have befallen me: and if I had eaten the sin offering to day, should it have been accepted in the sight of the Lord?
20 Då Mose det hörde, war han til frids. And when Moses heard that, he was content.
