1 A esto también se espanta mi corazón y salta de su lugar. At this also my heart trembleth, and is moved out of his place.
2 Oíd oyendo su terrible voz, y la palabra que sale de su boca. Hear attentively the noise of his voice, and the sound that goeth out of his mouth.
3 Debajo de todos los cielos lo enderezará, y su luz le extenderá hasta los fines de la tierra. He directeth it under the whole heaven, and his lightning unto the ends of the earth.
4 Tras de él bramará el sonido, tronará con su valiente voz, y aunque sea oída su voz, no los detiene. After it a voice roareth: he thundereth with the voice of his excellency; and he will not stay them when his voice is heard.
5 Tronará Dios maravillosamente con su voz: él hace grandes cosas, y nosotros no lo entendemos. God thundereth marvellously with his voice; great things doeth he, which we cannot comprehend.
6 Porque a la nieve dice: Sé en la tierra; y lluvia tras lluvia, y lluvia tras lluvia en su fortaleza. For he saith to the snow, Be thou on the earth; likewise to the small rain, and to the great rain of his strength.
7 Él pone un sello en la mano de todos los hombres, para que todos los hombres conozcan su obra. He sealeth up the hand of every man; that all men may know his work.
8 La bestia se entrará en su escondrijo, y habitará en sus moradas. Then the beasts go into dens, and remain in their places.
9 Del mediodía viene el torbellino, y de los vientos del norte el frío. Out of the south cometh the whirlwind: and cold out of the north.
10 Por el soplo de Dios se da el hielo, y las anchas aguas son constreñidas. By the breath of God frost is given: and the breadth of the waters is straitened.
11 Además de esto, con la claridad fatiga las nubes, y las esparce con su luz. Also by watering he wearieth the thick cloud: he scattereth his bright cloud:
12 Y ellas se revuelven al derredor por sus ingenios, para hacer sobre la haz del mundo en la tierra lo que él les mandó: And it is turned round about by his counsels: that they may do whatsoever he commandeth them upon the face of the world in the earth.
13 Unas veces por azote; otras, por causa de su tierra; otras, por misericordia las hará parecer. He causeth it to come, whether for correction, or for his land, or for mercy.
14 Escucha esto Job, repósate, y considera las maravillas de Dios. Hearken unto this, O Job: stand still, and consider the wondrous works of God.
15 ¿Supiste tú cuando Dios las ponía en concierto, y hacía levantar la luz de su nube? Dost thou know when God disposed them, and caused the light of his cloud to shine?
16 ¿Has tú conocido las diferencias de las nubes, las maravillas del perfecto de sabidurías? Dost thou know the balancings of the clouds, the wondrous works of him which is perfect in knowledge?
17 ¿Y eran calientes tus vestidos cuando él daba el reposo a la tierra del mediodía? How thy garments are warm, when he quieteth the earth by the south wind?
18 ¿Extendiste tú con él los cielos firmes, como un espejo firme? Hast thou with him spread out the sky, which is strong, and as a molten looking glass?
19 Muéstranos, que le hemos de decir, porque no ordenemos en tinieblas. Teach us what we shall say unto him; for we cannot order our speech by reason of darkness.
20 ¿Ha de serle contado cuando yo hablare? ¿Ha de serle dicho cuando alguno será damnificado? Shall it be told him that I speak? if a man speak, surely he shall be swallowed up.
21 También alguna vez no se ve la luz clara en los cielos; y pasa un viento y límpialos. And now men see not the bright light which is in the clouds: but the wind passeth, and cleanseth them.
22 De la parte del norte vendrá la serenidad, por el Dios terrible de alabanza. Fair weather cometh out of the north: with God is terrible majesty.
23 Él es Todopoderoso, al cual no alcanzamos: grande en poder, y en juicio, y en multitud de justicia; no aflige. Touching the Almighty, we cannot find him out: he is excellent in power, and in judgment, and in plenty of justice: he will not afflict.
24 Por tanto los hombres le temerán, todos los sabios de corazón no le comprenderán. Men do therefore fear him: he respecteth not any that are wise of heart.
