1 И говори Јелисије жени којој сина поврати у живот, и рече: устани и иди с домом својим, и склони се гдје можеш; јер је Господ дозвао глад која ће доћи и бити на земљи седам година. Then spake Elisha unto the woman, whose son he had restored to life, saying, Arise, and go thou and thine household, and sojourn wheresoever thou canst sojourn: for the Lord hath called for a famine; and it shall also come upon the land seven years.
2 А жена уста, и учини како рече човјек Божји, јер отиде с домом својим и оста у земљи Филистејској седам година. And the woman arose, and did after the saying of the man of God: and she went with her household, and sojourned in the land of the Philistines seven years.
3 А кад прође седам година, врати се жена из земље Филистејске, и отиде да моли цара за кућу своју и за њиву своју. And it came to pass at the seven years’ end, that the woman returned out of the land of the Philistines: and she went forth to cry unto the king for her house and for her land.
4 А цар говораше с Гијезијем, момком човјека Божијега, и рече: приповједи ми сва велика дјела која је учинио Јелисије. And the king talked with Gehazi the servant of the man of God, saying, Tell me, I pray thee, all the great things that Elisha hath done.
5 А кад он приповједаше цару како је мртва оживио, гле, жена, којој је сина оживио, стаде молити цара за кућу своју и за њиву своју. А Гијезије рече: господару мој, царе, ово је она жена и ово је син њезин, којега је Јелисије оживио. And it came to pass, as he was telling the king how he had restored a dead body to life, that, behold, the woman, whose son he had restored to life, cried to the king for her house and for her land. And Gehazi said, My lord, O king, this is the woman, and this is her son, whom Elisha restored to life.
6 Тада цар запита жену, и она му приповједи. И цар јој даде једнога дворанина и рече му: поврати јој све што је њезино и све приходе од њива од дана кад је оставила земљу дори до сада. And when the king asked the woman, she told him. So the king appointed unto her a certain officer, saying, Restore all that was hers, and all the fruits of the field since the day that she left the land, even until now.
7 Послије тога дође Јелисије у Дамаск, а цар Сирски Вен-Адад бијаше болестан, и јавише му говорећи: дошао је човјек Божји овамо. And Elisha came to Damascus; and Ben–hadad the king of Syria was sick; and it was told him, saying, The man of God is come hither.
8 А цар рече Азаилу: узми са собом дар и иди на сусрет човјеку Божијему, и преко њега питај Господа хоћу ли оздравити од ове болести. And the king said unto Hazael, Take a present in thine hand, and go, meet the man of God, and enquire of the Lord by him, saying, Shall I recover of this disease?
9 Тада отиде Азаило на сусрет њему понесавши дар, свакојаких добријех ствари из Дамаска натоваренијех на четрдесет камила; и дошав стаде пред њим и рече: син твој Вен-Адад цар Сирски посла ме к теби говорећи: хоћу ли оздравити од ове болести? So Hazael went to meet him, and took a present with him, even of every good thing of Damascus, forty camels’ burden, and came and stood before him, and said, Thy son Ben–hadad king of Syria hath sent me to thee, saying, Shall I recover of this disease?
10 А Јелисије му рече: иди, реци му: оздравићеш; али ми је Господ показао да ће умријети. And Elisha said unto him, Go, say unto him, Thou mayest certainly recover: howbeit the Lord hath shewed me that he shall surely die.
11 И упрвши очи у њ гледаше дуго и заплака се човјек Божји. And he settled his countenance stedfastly, until he was ashamed: and the man of God wept.
12 А Азаило му рече: што плаче господар мој? А он рече: јер знам какво ћеш зло учинити синовима Израиљевијем, градове ћеш њихове палити огњем, и младиће ћеш њихове сјећи мачем, и дјецу ћеш њихову разбијати и трудне жене њихове растрзати. And Hazael said, Why weepeth my lord? And he answered, Because I know the evil that thou wilt do unto the children of Israel: their strong holds wilt thou set on fire, and their young men wilt thou slay with the sword, and wilt dash their children, and rip up their women with child.
13 А Азаило рече: а шта је слуга твој, пас, да учини тако велику ствар? А Јелисије му рече: показао ми је Господ да ћеш ти бити цар у Сирији. And Hazael said, But what, is thy servant a dog, that he should do this great thing? And Elisha answered, The Lord hath shewed me that thou shalt be king over Syria.
14 Тада отишав од Јелисија дође ка господару својему; а он му рече: што ти рече Јелисије? А он одговори: рече ми да ћеш оздравити. So he departed from Elisha, and came to his master; who said to him, What said Elisha to thee? And he answered, He told me that thou shouldest surely recover.
15 Али сјутрадан узе Азаило покривач и замочивши га у воду прострије му по лицу, те умрије. А на његово мјесто зацари се Азаило. And it came to pass on the morrow, that he took a thick cloth, and dipped it in water, and spread it on his face, so that he died: and Hazael reigned in his stead.
16 Пете године царовања Јорама сина Ахавова над Израиљем, кад Јосафат бјеше цар Јудин, поче царовати Јорам син Јосафатов цар Јудин. And in the fifth year of Joram the son of Ahab king of Israel, Jehoshaphat being then king of Judah, Jehoram the son of Jehoshaphat king of Judah began to reign.
17 Имаше тридесет и двије године кад поче царовати, и царова осам година у Јерусалиму. Thirty and two years old was he when he began to reign; and he reigned eight years in Jerusalem.
18 И хођаше путем царева Израиљевијех, као што је чинио дом Ахавов; јер кћи Ахавова бјеше му жена, те он чињаше што је зло пред Господом. And he walked in the way of the kings of Israel, as did the house of Ahab: for the daughter of Ahab was his wife: and he did evil in the sight of the Lord.
19 Али Господ не хтје затрти Јуде ради Давида слуге својега, као што му бјеше рекао да ће му дати видјело између синова његовијех довијека. Yet the Lord would not destroy Judah for David his servant’s sake, as he promised him to give him alway a light, and to his children.
20 За његова времена одврже се Едом да не буде под Јудом, и постави цара над собом. In his days Edom revolted from under the hand of Judah, and made a king over themselves.
21 Зато отиде Јорам у Саир и сва кола његова с њим; и уста ноћу и удари на Едомце, који га бијаху опколили, и на заповиједнике од кола, и побјеже народ у своје шаторе. So Joram went over to Zair, and all the chariots with him: and he rose by night, and smote the Edomites which compassed him about, and the captains of the chariots: and the people fled into their tents.
22 Ипак се одвргоше Едомци да не буду под Јудом, до данашњега дана. У исто вријеме одметну се и Ливна. Yet Edom revolted from under the hand of Judah unto this day. Then Libnah revolted at the same time.
23 А остала дјела Јорамова и све што је чинио, није ли то записано у дневнику царева Јудинијех? And the rest of the acts of Joram, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?
24 И Јорам почину код отаца својих, и би погребен код отаца својих у граду Давидову. А на његово се мјесто зацари син његов Охозија. And Joram slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David: and Ahaziah his son reigned in his stead.
25 Године дванаесте царовања Јорама сина Ахавова над Израиљем поче царовати Охозија син Јорамов, цар Јудин. In the twelfth year of Joram the son of Ahab king of Israel did Ahaziah the son of Jehoram king of Judah begin to reign.
26 Имаше Охозија двадесет и двије године кад се зацари, и царова годину дана у Јерусалиму. Матери му бјеше име Готолија, кћи Амрија цара Израиљева. Two and twenty years old was Ahaziah when he began to reign; and he reigned one year in Jerusalem. And his mother’s name was Athaliah, the daughter of Omri king of Israel.
27 Он хођаше путем дома Ахавова, и чињаше што је зло пред Господом, као дом Ахавов, јер бјеше зет дому Ахавову. And he walked in the way of the house of Ahab, and did evil in the sight of the Lord, as did the house of Ahab: for he was the son in law of the house of Ahab.
28 Зато пође с Јорамом сином Ахавовијем на војску на Азаила цара Сирскога у Рамот Галадски; али Сирци разбише Јорама. And he went with Joram the son of Ahab to the war against Hazael king of Syria in Ramoth–gilead; and the Syrians wounded Joram.
29 И врати се цар Јорам да се лијечи у Језраелу од рана које му задаше Сирци у Рами, кад се бијаше с Азаилом царем Сирским; а Охозија син Јорамов цар Јудин отиде да види Јорама сина Ахавова у Језраелу, јер бијаше болестан. And king Joram went back to be healed in Jezreel of the wounds which the Syrians had given him at Ramah, when he fought against Hazael king of Syria. And Ahaziah the son of Jehoram king of Judah went down to see Joram the son of Ahab in Jezreel, because he was sick.
