1 И начини себи Давид куће у граду Давидову, и спреми мјесто за ковчег Божји, и разапе му шатор. And David made him houses in the city of David, and prepared a place for the ark of God, and pitched for it a tent.
2 Тада рече Давид: не ваља да носи ковчег Божји нико осим Левита, јер је њих изабрао Господ да носе ковчег Божји и да му служе довијека. Then David said, None ought to carry the ark of God but the Levites: for them hath the Lord chosen to carry the ark of God, and to minister unto him for ever.
3 И скупи Давид све синове Израиљеве у Јерусалим да пренесу ковчег Господњи на мјесто његово, које му бјеше спремио. And David gathered all Israel together to Jerusalem, to bring up the ark of the Lord unto his place, which he had prepared for it.
4 Скупи Давид и синове Аронове и Левите, And David assembled the children of Aaron, and the Levites:
5 Од синова Катовијех: Урила поглавара и браће његове сто и двадесет; Of the sons of Kohath; Uriel the chief, and his brethren an hundred and twenty:
6 Од синова Мераријевих: Асају поглавара и браће његове двјеста и двадесет; Of the sons of Merari; Asaiah the chief, and his brethren two hundred and twenty:
7 Од синова Гирсоновијех: Јоила поглавара и браће његове сто и тридесет; Of the sons of Gershom; Joel the chief, and his brethren an hundred and thirty:
8 Од синова Елисафанових: Семају поглавара и браће његове двјеста; Of the sons of Elizaphan; Shemaiah the chief, and his brethren two hundred:
9 Од синова Хевроновијех: Елила поглавара и браће његове осамдесет; Of the sons of Hebron; Eliel the chief, and his brethren fourscore:
10 Од синова Озиловијех: Аминадава поглавара и браће његове сто и дванаест. Of the sons of Uzziel; Amminadab the chief, and his brethren an hundred and twelve.
11 Тада дозва Давид Садока и Авијатара свештенике, и Левите и Урила и Асају и Јоила и Самају и Елила и Аминадава, And David called for Zadok and Abiathar the priests, and for the Levites, for Uriel, Asaiah, and Joel, Shemaiah, and Eliel, and Amminadab,
12 И рече им: ви сте поглавари породица отачких међу Левитима; освештајте себе и браћу своју да донесете ковчег Господа Бога Израиљева на мјесто које сам му спремио. And said unto them, Ye are the chief of the fathers of the Levites: sanctify yourselves, both ye and your brethren, that ye may bring up the ark of the Lord God of Israel unto the place that I have prepared for it.
13 Јер што пређе не учинисте тога, Господ Бог наш продрије нас, јер га не тражисмо како треба. For because ye did it not at the first, the Lord our God made a breach upon us, for that we sought him not after the due order.
14 И освешташе се свештеници и Левити да пренесу ковчег Господа Бога Израиљева. So the priests and the Levites sanctified themselves to bring up the ark of the Lord God of Israel.
15 И носише синови Левитски ковчег Божији као што је заповједио Мојсије по ријечи Господњој на раменима својим и полугама. And the children of the Levites bare the ark of God upon their shoulders with the staves thereon, as Moses commanded according to the word of the Lord.
16 И рече Давид поглаварима Левитским да поставе између браће своје пјеваче са справама музицким, са псалтирима и гуслама и кимвалима, да пјевају у глас весело. And David spake to the chief of the Levites to appoint their brethren to be the singers with instruments of musick, psalteries and harps and cymbals, sounding, by lifting up the voice with joy.
17 И поставише Левити Емана сина Јоилова, и од браће његове Асафа сина Варахијина, и од синова Мераријевих, браће њихове, Етана сина Кисајина; So the Levites appointed Heman the son of Joel; and of his brethren, Asaph the son of Berechiah; and of the sons of Merari their brethren, Ethan the son of Kushaiah;
18 И с њима браћу њихову другога реда: Захарију и Вена и Јазила и Семирамота и Јехила и Унија и Елијава и Венају и Масију и Мататију и Елифела и Микнеју и Овид-Едома и Јеила, вратаре. And with them their brethren of the second degree, Zechariah, Ben, and Jaaziel, and Shemiramoth, and Jehiel, and Unni, Eliab, and Benaiah, and Maaseiah, and Mattithiah, and Elipheleh, and Mikneiah, and Obed–edom, and Jeiel, the porters.
19 И пјевачи Еман и Асаф и Етан удараху у кимвале мједене; So the singers, Heman, Asaph, and Ethan, were appointed to sound with cymbals of brass;
20 А Захарија и Озило и Семирамот и Јехило и Уније и Елијав и Масија и Венаја у псалтире високо, And Zechariah, and Aziel, and Shemiramoth, and Jehiel, and Unni, and Eliab, and Maaseiah, and Benaiah, with psalteries on Alamoth;
21 А Мататија и Елифел и Микнеја, и Овид-Едом, и Јеило и Азазија у гусле ниско. And Mattithiah, and Elipheleh, and Mikneiah, and Obed–edom, and Jeiel, and Azaziah, with harps on the Sheminith to excel.
22 А Хенанија поглавар међу Левитима који ношаху ковчег уређиваше како ће се носити, јер бјеше вјешт. And Chenaniah, chief of the Levites, was for song: he instructed about the song, because he was skilful.
23 А Варахија и Елкана бјеху вратари код ковчега. And Berechiah and Elkanah were doorkeepers for the ark.
24 А Севанија и Јосафат и Натанаило и Амасај и Захарија и Венаја и Елијезер, свештеници, трубљаху у трубе пред ковчегом Божјим; а Овид-Едом и Јехија бјеху вратари код ковчега. And Shebaniah, and Jehoshaphat, and Nethaneel, and Amasai, and Zechariah, and Benaiah, and Eliezer, the priests, did blow with the trumpets before the ark of God: and Obed–edom and Jehiah were doorkeepers for the ark.
25 И тако Давид и старјешине Израиљеве и тисућници иђаху пратећи ковчег завјета Господњега из куће Овид-Едомове с весељем. So David, and the elders of Israel, and the captains over thousands, went to bring up the ark of the covenant of the Lord out of the house of Obed–edom with joy.
26 И кад Бог поможе Левитима који ношаху ковчег завјета Господњега принесоше седам волова и седам овнова. And it came to pass, when God helped the Levites that bare the ark of the covenant of the Lord, that they offered seven bullocks and seven rams.
27 И Давид бијаше огрнут плаштем од танкога платна, тако и сви Левити који ношаху ковчег и пјевачи, Хенанија који управљаше носиоцима међу пјевачима. И Давид имаше на себи оплећак ланен. And David was clothed with a robe of fine linen, and all the Levites that bare the ark, and the singers, and Chenaniah the master of the song with the singers: David also had upon him an ephod of linen.
28 И тако сав народ Израиљев праћаше ковчег завјета Господњега кликујући и трубећи у трубе и у рогове и ударајући у кимвале и у псалтире и у гусле. Thus all Israel brought up the ark of the covenant of the Lord with shouting, and with sound of the cornet, and with trumpets, and with cymbals, making a noise with psalteries and harps.
29 А кад ковчег завјета Господњега улажаше у град Давидов, Михала кћи Саулова гледајући с прозора виде цара Давида гдје скаче и игра, и подругну му се у срцу свом. And it came to pass, as the ark of the covenant of the Lord came to the city of David, that Michal the daughter of Saul looking out at a window saw king David dancing and playing: and she despised him in her heart.
