| 1 | Schaffe mir Recht, o Gott, und führe meine Sache wider ein liebloses Volk, errette mich von dem falschen und bösen Mann! | Judge me, O God, and plead my cause against an ungodly nation: O deliver me from the deceitful and unjust man. |
| 2 | Denn du bist der Gott, der mich schützt; warum verwirfst du mich? Warum muß ich traurig einhergehen, da mein Feind mich drängt? | For thou art the God of my strength: why dost thou cast me off? why go I mourning because of the oppression of the enemy? |
| 3 | Sende dein Licht und deine Wahrheit, daß sie mich leiten, mich bringen zu deinem heiligen Berg und zu deinen Wohnungen, | O send out thy light and thy truth: let them lead me; let them bring me unto thy holy hill, and to thy tabernacles. |
| 4 | daß ich hineingehe zum Altare Gottes, zu dem Gott, der meine Freude und Wonne ist, und dich preise auf der Harfe, o Gott, mein Gott! | Then will I go unto the altar of God, unto God my exceeding joy: yea, upon the harp will I praise thee, O God my God. |
