1	엘리후가 다시 말을 이었다.	Elihu spake moreover, and said,
2	욥 어른은 '하나님께서도 나를 옳다고 하실 것이다' 하고 말씀하셨지만,	Thinkest thou this to be right, that thou saidst, My righteousness is more than God’s?
3	또 하나님께 "내가 죄를 짓는다고 하여, 그것이 하나님께 무슨 영향이라도 미칩니까? 또 제가 죄를 짓지 않는다고 하여, 내가 얻는 이익이 무엇입니까?" 하고 물으시는데, 그것도 옳지 못합니다.	For thou saidst, What advantage will it be unto thee? and, What profit shall I have, if I be cleansed from my sin?
4	이제 어른과 세 친구분들께 대답해 드리겠습니다.	I will answer thee, and thy companions with thee.
5	욥 어른은 하늘을 보시기 바랍니다. 구름이 얼마나 높이 있습니까?	Look unto the heavens, and see; and behold the clouds which are higher than thou.
6	비록 욥께서 죄를 지었다고 한들 하나님께 무슨 손해가 가며, 어른의 죄악이 크다고 한들 하나님께 무슨 영향이 미치겠습니까?	If thou sinnest, what doest thou against him? or if thy transgressions be multiplied, what doest thou unto him?
7	또 욥께서 의로운 일을 하셨다고 한들 하나님께 무슨 보탬이 되며, 하나님이 어른에게서 얻을 것이 무엇이 있겠습니까?	If thou be righteous, what givest thou him? or what receiveth he of thine hand?
8	욥께서 죄를 지었다고 해도, 어른과 다름없는 사람에게나 손해를 입히며, 욥께서 의로운 일을 했다고 해도, 그것은 다만, 사람에게나 영향을 미칠 뿐입니다.	Thy wickedness may hurt a man as thou art; and thy righteousness may profit the son of man.
9	사람들은 억압이 심해지면 부르짖고, 세력이 있는 자들이 억누르면, 누구에게나 구원을 청하면서 울부짖지만,	By reason of the multitude of oppressions they make the oppressed to cry: they cry out by reason of the arm of the mighty.
10	그들을 창조하신 하나님께로 돌아가지 않습니다. 어두운 때에도, 희망을 주시는 그 창조주 하나님께로 돌아가지 않습니다.	But none saith, Where is God my maker, who giveth songs in the night;
11	하나님이 우리에게 짐승이나 새가 가진 지혜보다 더 나은 지혜를 주시는데도 하나님께로 돌아가지 않습니다.	Who teacheth us more than the beasts of the earth, and maketh us wiser than the fowls of heaven?
12	그들이 거만하고 악하므로, 하나님께 "도와주십시오" 하고 부르짖어도, 하나님은 들은 체도 않으십니다.	There they cry, but none giveth answer, because of the pride of evil men.
13	전능하신 하나님은 악한 자들을 보지도 않으시고, 그들의 호소를 들어 주지도 않으시므로, 그 악한 자들의 울부짖음에는 아무런 힘이 없습니다.	Surely God will not hear vanity, neither will the Almighty regard it.
14	욥 어른은 하나님을 볼 수 없다고 말씀하셨습니다. 그러나 참고 기다리십시오. 어른께서 걸어 놓은 소송장이 하나님 앞에 놓여 있습니다.	Although thou sayest thou shalt not see him, yet judgment is before him; therefore trust thou in him.
15	어른은, 하나님이 벌을 내리지 않으시고, 사람의 죄에도 별로 관심이 없다고 생각하십니다.	But now, because it is not so, he hath visited in his anger; yet he knoweth it not in great extremity:
16	그러나 명심하십시오. 어른께서 말씀을 계속하시는 것은, 쓸데없는 일입니다. 어른은 자기가 하는 말이 무엇인지도 모르시는 것이 분명합니다.	Therefore doth Job open his mouth in vain; he multiplieth words without knowledge.
