1	유다 왕 아하시야(왕하 8:25-29; 9:21-28) 예루살렘 사람들이 여호람의 막내 아들 아하시야를 왕으로 삼아, 왕위를 잇게 하였다. 전에 아라비아 사람들과 함께 진영에 쳐들어 왔던 침략군들에게 아하시야의 형들이 다 학살당하였으므로, 여호람의 아들 아하시야가 유다의 왕이 되었다.	And the inhabitants of Jerusalem made Ahaziah his youngest son king in his stead: for the band of men that came with the Arabians to the camp had slain all the eldest. So Ahaziah the son of Jehoram king of Judah reigned.
2	아하시야가 왕이 되었을 때에, 그는, 스물두 살이었다. 그는 예루살렘에서 한 해밖에 다스리지 못하였다. 그의 어머니 아달랴는 오므리의 손녀이다.	Forty and two years old was Ahaziah when he began to reign, and he reigned one year in Jerusalem. His mother’s name also was Athaliah the daughter of Omri.
3	아하시야 역시 아합 가문의 길을 따라 가지 않을 수 없었다. 그의 어머니가 그를 꾀어, 악을 행하게 하였기 때문이다.	He also walked in the ways of the house of Ahab: for his mother was his counsellor to do wickedly.
4	그는 아합 가문을 따라 주 앞에서 악을 행하였다. 그는 아버지가 죽은 다음에 아합 가문 사람들의 의견을 따라 다스리다가, 그만 망하고 말았다.	Wherefore he did evil in the sight of the Lord like the house of Ahab: for they were his counsellors after the death of his father to his destruction.
5	그는 아합 가문 사람들의 의견을 따라, 이스라엘의 아합의 아들 요람 왕과 함께 시리아의 하사엘 왕을 맞아 싸우려고, 길르앗의 라못으로 올라갔다. 그 싸움에서 시리아 군인이 요람을 쳐서 부상을 입혔다.	He walked also after their counsel, and went with Jehoram the son of Ahab king of Israel to war against Hazael king of Syria at Ramoth–gilead: and the Syrians smote Joram.
6	요람은, 시리아의 하사엘 왕과 라마에서 싸울 때에 입은 부상을 치료하려고, 이스르엘로 돌아갔다. 그 때에 아합의 아들 요람이 병이 들었으므로, 유다의 여호람 왕의 아들 아하시야가 문병을 하려고 이스르엘로 내려갔다.	And he returned to be healed in Jezreel because of the wounds which were given him at Ramah, when he fought with Hazael king of Syria. And Azariah the son of Jehoram king of Judah went down to see Jehoram the son of Ahab at Jezreel, because he was sick.
7	아하시야는 요람에게 문병을 갔다가 오히려 해를 입게 되었다. 이것은 이미 하나님께서 일을 그렇게 꾸미셨기 때문이다. 아하시야가 병문안을 하러 갔다가, 뜻밖에도 요람과 함께 나가서, 님시의 아들 예후와 맞닥뜨리게 되었다. 예후는 이미 주께서 아합 왕가를 멸망시키시려고 기름 부어 뽑아 세운 사람이었다.	And the destruction of Ahaziah was of God by coming to Joram: for when he was come, he went out with Jehoram against Jehu the son of Nimshi, whom the Lord had anointed to cut off the house of Ahab.
8	예후는 아합 왕가를 징벌하면서, 유다 군대의 지휘관들과, 아하시야를 섬기는 조카들까지, 닥치는 대로 죽였다.	And it came to pass, that, when Jehu was executing judgment upon the house of Ahab, and found the princes of Judah, and the sons of the brethren of Ahaziah, that ministered to Ahaziah, he slew them.
9	아하시야는 사마리아로 가서 숨어 있었으나, 예후가 그를 찾아 나섰다. 마침 예후의 부하들이 아하시야를 붙잡아 예후에게로 데리고 왔다. 예후가 그를 죽이니, 사람들은 "그가 마음을 다하여 주님만 찾은 여호사밧의 아들이었다" 하면서, 그를 묻어 주었다.그리고 나니, 아하시야의 가문에는 왕국을 지켜 갈 만한 능력을 가진 사람이 아무도 없었다.	And he sought Ahaziah: and they caught him, (for he was hid in Samaria,) and brought him to Jehu: and when they had slain him, they buried him: Because, said they, he is the son of Jehoshaphat, who sought the Lord with all his heart. So the house of Ahaziah had no power to keep still the kingdom.
10	유다의 여왕 아달랴(왕하 11:1-3) 아하시야의 어머니 아달랴는 자기 아들이 죽는 것을 보고, 유다 집의 왕족을 다 죽이기 시작하였다.	But when Athaliah the mother of Ahaziah saw that her son was dead, she arose and destroyed all the seed royal of the house of Judah.
11	그러나 왕자들이 살해되는 가운데서도, 왕의 딸 여호세바가 아하시야의 아들 요아스를 몰래 빼내어, 유모와 함께 침실에 숨겨서, 아달랴에게서 화를 면하게 하였으므로, 아달랴가 요아스는 죽이지 못하였다. 여호세바는 여호람 왕의 딸이요, 여호야다 제사장의 아내이다. 아하시야에게는 누이가 되는 사람이다.	But Jehoshabeath, the daughter of the king, took Joash the son of Ahaziah, and stole him from among the king’s sons that were slain, and put him and his nurse in a bedchamber. So Jehoshabeath, the daughter of king Jehoram, the wife of Jehoiada the priest, (for she was the sister of Ahaziah,) hid him from Athaliah, so that she slew him not.
12	요아스는 그들과 함께 여섯 해 동안을 하나님의 성전에 숨어 지냈으며, 그 동안에, 나라는 아달랴가 다스렸다.	And he was with them hid in the house of God six years: and Athaliah reigned over the land.
