1	사망에서 생명으로 옮기다 여러분도 전에는 범죄와 죄로 죽었던 사람들입니다.	And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;
2	그 때에 여러분은 범죄와 죄 가운데서 이 세상의 풍조를 따라 살고, 공중의 권세를 잡은 통치자, 곧 지금 불순종의 자식들 가운데서 역사하는 영을 따라 살았습니다.	Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:
3	우리도 전에는 그들 가운데서 모두 육신의 정욕대로 살고, 육신과 마음이 바라는 대로 행하여, 다른 사람들과 마찬가지로 날 때로부터 진노의 자식이었습니다.	Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.
4	그러나 하나님은 자비가 넘치는 분이셔서, 우리를 사랑하신 그 큰 사랑으로,	But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,
5	범죄로 죽었던 우리를 그리스도와 함께 살려 주셨습니다. 여러분은 은혜로 구원을 받았습니다.	Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)
6	하나님께서 그리스도 예수 안에서 우리를 그분과 함께 살리시고, 하늘에 함께 앉게 하셨습니다.	And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:
7	그것은, 하나님께서 그리스도 예수 안에서 우리에게 자비로 베푸신 그 은혜가 얼마나 풍성한지를, 앞으로 올 모든 세대에게 드러내 보이시려는 것입니다.	That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.
8	여러분은 믿음으로 말미암아 은혜로 구원을 받았습니다. 이것은, 여러분에게서 난 것이 아니요, 하나님의 선물입니다.	For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
9	구원이 행위에서 난 것이 아님은, 아무도 그것을 자랑할 수 없게 하려고 하시는 것입니다.	Not of works, lest any man should boast.
10	우리는 하나님의 작품입니다. 선한 일을 하게 하시려고, 하나님께서 그리스도 예수 안에서 우리를 만드셨습니다. 하나님께서 이렇게 준비하신 것은, 우리가 선한 일을 하면서 살아가게 하시려는 것입니다.	For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
11	십자가는 유대인과 이방인을 통일시키다 그러므로 여러분은 지난날에 육신으로는 이방 사람이었다는 사실을 생각하십시오. 손으로 육신에다가 행하는 '할례를 받은 사람'이라고 일컫는 사람들이, 여러분을 '무할례자'라고 일컬었습니다.	Wherefore remember, that ye being in time past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands;
12	그 때에 여러분은 그리스도와 상관이 없었고, 이스라엘 시민권에서 제외되어서, 약속의 언약에서는 외인으로서, 세상에서 아무 소망도 없이, 하나님도 없이 살았습니다.	That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world:
13	여러분이 전에는 하나님에게서 멀리 떨어져 있었으나, 이제는 그리스도 예수 안에서 그분의 피로 하나님께 가까워졌습니다.	But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.
14	그리스도는 우리의 평화이십니다. 그리스도께서는 유대 사람과 이방 사람이 양쪽으로 갈려 있는 것을 하나로 만드신 분이십니다. 그는 유대 사람과 이방 사람 사이를 가르는 담을 자기 몸으로 허무셔서, 원수된 것을 없애시고,	For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us;
15	여러 가지 조문으로 된 계명의 율법을 폐하셨습니다. 그것은, 이 둘을 자기 안에서 하나의 새 사람으로 만드셔서, 평화를 이루시고,	Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace;
16	원수된 것을 십자가로 소멸하시고, 십자가로 이 둘을 한 몸으로 만드셔서, 하나님과 화해시키시려는 것입니다.	And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby:
17	그분께서는 오셔서, 하나님에게서 멀리 떠나 있는 이방인 여러분에게 평화를 전하시고, 하나님께 가까이 있는 사람들에게도 평화를 전하셨습니다.	And came and preached peace to you which were afar off, and to them that were nigh.
18	이방 사람과 유대 사람 양쪽 모두, 그리스도로 말미암아 한 성령 안에서 아버지께로 나아가게 되었습니다.	For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father.
19	그러므로 이제부터 여러분은 외국 사람이나 나그네가 아니요, 성도와 같은 시민이요, 하나님의 가족입니다.	Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God;
20	여러분은 사도와 예언자의 터 위에 세워진 건물이요, 그리스도 예수 스스로가 그 모퉁잇돌이십니다.	And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;
21	그리스도 안에서 건물 전체가 서로 연결되어서, 주님 안에서 성전으로 자랍니다.	In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord:
22	여러분도 그리스도와 연결되어서 함께 건물을 이루어 하나님께서 성령으로 거하실 곳이 되어갑니다.	In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.
