1	다윗 이스라엘아, 대답해 보아라. 주께서 우리 편이 아니셨다면, 우리가 어떠하였겠느냐?	If it had not been the Lord who was on our side, now may Israel say;
2	"주께서 우리 편이 아니셨다면, 원수들이 우리를 치러 일어났을 때에,	If it had not been the Lord who was on our side, when men rose up against us:
3	원수들이 우리에게 큰 분노를 터뜨려서, 우리를 산 채로 집어삼켰을 것이며,	Then they had swallowed us up quick, when their wrath was kindled against us:
4	물이 우리를 덮어, 홍수가 우리를 휩쓸어 갔을 것이며,	Then the waters had overwhelmed us, the stream had gone over our soul:
5	넘치는 물결이 우리의 영혼을 삼키고 말았을 것이다."	Then the proud waters had gone over our soul.
6	우리를 원수의 이에 찢길 먹이가 되지 않게 하셨다. 주님을 찬송하여라.	Blessed be the Lord, who hath not given us as a prey to their teeth.
7	새가 사냥꾼의 그물에서 벗어남같이 우리의 목숨을 건져내셨다. 그물은 찢어지고, 우리는 풀려 났다.	Our soul is escaped as a bird out of the snare of the fowlers: the snare is broken, and we are escaped.
8	우리의 도움은 천지를 지으신 주의 이름 안에 있다.	Our help is in the name of the Lord, who made heaven and earth.
