1	그리스도인은 그리스도와 함께 죽고 함께 산다 그러면 우리가 무엇이라고 말을 해야 하겠습니까? 은혜를 더하게 하려고, 여전히 죄 가운데 머물러 있어야 하겠습니까?	What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?
2	그럴 수 없습니다. 우리는 죄에는 죽은 사람인데, 어떻게 죄 가운데서 그대로 살 수 있겠습니까?	God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?
3	여러분은, 그리스도 예수와 연합하는 세례를 받은 우리 모두가, 그분의 죽으심과 연합하는 세례를 받았다는 것을 알지 못합니까?	Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?
4	그러므로 우리는 그분의 죽으심과 연합하는 세례를 받음으로써, 그분과 함께 묻혔습니다. 이것은, 그리스도께서 죽은 사람들 가운데서 아버지의 영광으로 살리심을 받은 것과 같이, 우리도 새로운 생명 가운데서 살아가게 하려는 것입니다.	Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
5	우리가 그의 죽으심과 같은 죽음으로 그와 연합하는 사람이 되었으면, 또한 분명히, 그의 부활하심과 같은 부활로 그와 연합하는 사람이 될 것입니다.	For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:
6	우리는, 우리의 옛사람이 그리스도와 함께 십자가에 달려서 죽은 것이, 죄의 몸을 멸하여서, 우리가 다시는 죄의 노예가 되지 않게 하려는 것임을 압니다.	Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.
7	죽은 사람은 이미 죄의 세력에서 해방되었습니다.	For he that is dead is freed from sin.
8	우리가 그리스도와 함께 죽었으면, 그와 함께 우리도 또한 살아날 것임을 믿습니다.	Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him:
9	우리는, 그리스도께서 죽은 사람들 가운데서 살아나셔서, 다시는 죽지 않으시며, 다시는 죽음이 그를 지배하지 못한다는 것을 압니다.	Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him.
10	그리스도께서 죽으신 것은, 죄에 대하여 단 한 번만 죽으신 것이요, 그가 지금 살아 계시는 것은, 하나님께 대하여 사시는 것입니다.	For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God.
11	이와 같이 여러분도, 여러분 스스로가 죄에 대하여는 죽은 사람이요, 하나님께 대하여는 그리스도 예수 안에서 살아 있는 사람이라는 것을 알아야 합니다.	Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.
12	그러므로 죄가 여러분의 죽을 몸을 지배하지 못하게 해서, 여러분이 몸의 정욕에 굴복하는 일이 없도록 하십시오.	Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.
13	그러므로 여러분은 여러분의 지체를 죄에 내맡겨서 불의의 연장이 되게 하지 마십시오. 오히려 여러분은 죽은 사람들 가운데서 살아난 사람답게, 여러분을 하나님께 바치고, 여러분의 지체를 의의 연장으로 하나님께 바치십시오.	Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.
14	여러분은 율법 아래 있지 않고, 은혜 아래 있으므로, 죄가 여러분을 다스릴 수 없을 것입니다.	For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.
15	그리스도인은 의의 종이다 그러면 어떻게 해야 하겠습니까? 우리가 율법 아래 있지 않고, 은혜 아래 있다고 해서, 마음 놓고 죄를 짓자는 말입니까? 그럴 수 없습니다.	What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid.
16	여러분이 자기를 누구에게나 종으로 내맡겨서 복종하게 하면, 여러분은, 여러분이 복종하는 그 사람의 종이 되는 것임을 알지 못합니까? 여러분은 죽음에 이르는 죄의 종이 되거나, 아니면 의로움에 이르는 순종의 종이 되거나, 하는 것입니다.	Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?
17	그러나 하나님께 감사할 일은, 여러분이 전에는 죄의 종이었으나, 이제 여러분은 전해 받은 교훈의 본에 마음으로부터 순종함으로써,	But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you.
18	죄에서 해방을 받아서, 의의 종이 된 것입니다.	Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.
19	여러분의 이해력이 약하므로, 내가 사람의 방식으로 말을 합니다. 여러분이 전에는 자기 지체를 더러움과 불법의 종으로 내맡겨서 불법에 빠져 있었지만, 이제는 여러분의 지체를 의의 종으로 바쳐서 거룩함에 이르도록 하십시오.	I speak after the manner of men because of the infirmity of your flesh: for as ye have yielded your members servants to uncleanness and to iniquity unto iniquity; even so now yield your members servants to righteousness unto holiness.
20	여러분이 죄의 종일 때에는, 의로움에 얽매이지 않았습니다.	For when ye were the servants of sin, ye were free from righteousness.
21	여러분은 그 때에 무슨 열매를 거두었습니까? 이제 와서 여러분이 그러한 생활을 부끄러워하지마는, 그러한 생활의 마지막은 죽음입니다.	What fruit had ye then in those things whereof ye are now ashamed? for the end of those things is death.
22	이제 여러분은 죄에서 해방을 받고, 하나님의 종이 되어서, 거룩함에 이르는 삶의 열매를 맺고 있습니다. 그 마지막은 영원한 생명입니다.	But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.
23	죄의 삯은 죽음이요, 하나님의 선물은 우리 주 예수 그리스도 안에서 누리는 영원한 생명입니다.	For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
