절	표준새번역 (1993)	King James Version
1	그러므로 나는, 무엇보다도 먼저, 모든 사람을 위해서 하나님께 간구와 기도와 중보의 기도와 감사를 드리라고 그대에게 권합니다.	I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;
2	왕들과 높은 지위에 있는 모든 사람을 위해서도 기도하십시오. 그래야 우리가, 아주 경건하고 품위 있는 삶과, 조용하고 평화로운 삶을 살아갈 수 있을 것입니다.	For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.
3	이것은 우리 구주 하나님께서 보시기에 좋은 일이며, 기쁘게 받으실 만한 일입니다.	For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;
4	하나님께서는 모든 사람이 다 구원을 얻고 진리를 알게 되기를 원하십니다.	Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.
5	하나님은 한 분이시요, 하나님과 사람 사이의 중보자도 한 분이시니, 곧 사람이신 그리스도 예수이십니다.	For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;
6	그분은 모든 사람을 위해서 자기를 대속물로 내주셨습니다.하나님께서 모든 사람이 구원 받기를 원하시는 바로 그 적절한 때에, 그 증거가 되셨습니다.	Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.
7	나는 이것을 증언하도록 선포자와 사도로 임명을 받고서, 믿음과 진리로 이방 사람을 가르치는 교사가 되었습니다. (나는 지금, 참말을 하는 것이지, 거짓말을 하는 것이 아닙니다.)	Whereunto I am ordained a preacher, and an apostle, (I speak the truth in Christ, and lie not;) a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and verity.
8	그러므로 나는, 남자들이 화를 내거나 말다툼을 하는 일이 없이, 모든 곳에서 거룩한 손을 들고 기도하기를 바랍니다.	I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.
9	이와 같이 여자들도 소박하고 정숙하게, 단정한 옷차림으로 자기를 단장하십시오. 머리를 지나치게 꾸미지 말며, 금붙이나 진주나 값비싼 옷으로 치장하지 말고,	In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array;
10	하나님을 공경하는 여자에게 어울리게, 착한 행실로 치장하기를 바랍니다.	But (which becometh women professing godliness) with good works.
11	여자는 조용히, 아주 순종하면서 배우십시오.	Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection.
12	나는, 여자가 가르치거나, 남자를 지배하는 것을 허락하지 않습니다. 여자는 조용해야 합니다.	But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.
13	사실 아담이 먼저 지음을 받고, 그 다음에 하와가 지음을 받았습니다.	For Adam was first formed, then Eve.
14	아담이 속은 것이 아니라, 여자가 속아서 죄에 빠진 것입니다.	And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression.
15	그러나 여자가 믿음과 사랑과 거룩함을 지니고 정숙하게 살면, 아이를 낳는 일로 구원을 얻을 것입니다.	Notwithstanding she shall be saved in childbearing, if they continue in faith and charity and holiness with sobriety.
