1	내가 그리스도를 본받는 사람인 것과 같이, 여러분은 나를 본받는 사람이 되십시오.	Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ.
2	여자가 머리에 쓰는 너울 여러분이 모든 일에서 나를 기억하고, 또 내가 여러분에게 전해 준 대로 전통을 지키고 있으므로, 나는 여러분을 칭찬합니다.	Now I praise you, brethren, that ye remember me in all things, and keep the ordinances, as I delivered them to you.
3	그런데 나는, 각 남자의 머리는 그리스도요, 아내의 머리는 남편이요, 그리스도의 머리는 하나님이신 것을, 여러분이 알기를 바랍니다.	But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God.
4	남자가 머리에 무엇을 쓰고 기도하거나 예언하면, 그는 자기 머리를 부끄럽게 하는 것입니다.	Every man praying or prophesying, having his head covered, dishonoureth his head.
5	그러나 여자가 머리에 무엇을 쓰지 않은 채로 기도하거나 예언하면, 그는 자기 머리를 부끄럽게 하는 것입니다. 그것은 머리를 밀어 버린 것과 꼭 마찬가지입니다.	But every woman that prayeth or prophesieth with her head uncovered dishonoureth her head: for that is even all one as if she were shaven.
6	여자가 머리에 아무것도 쓰지 않으려거든, 그는 머리를 깎으십시오. 그러나 머리를 깎거나 미는 것이 여자에게 부끄러운 일이면, 그는 머리를 가리십시오.	For if the woman be not covered, let her also be shorn: but if it be a shame for a woman to be shorn or shaven, let her be covered.
7	그러나 남자는 하나님의 형상이요, 하나님의 영광이니, 머리를 가려서는 안 됩니다. 그러나 여자는 남자의 영광입니다.	For a man indeed ought not to cover his head, forasmuch as he is the image and glory of God: but the woman is the glory of the man.
8	남자가 여자에게서 난 것이 아니라, 여자가 남자에게서 났습니다.	For the man is not of the woman; but the woman of the man.
9	또 남자가 여자를 위하여 지으심을 받은 것이 아니라, 여자가 남자를 위하여 지으심을 받았습니다.	Neither was the man created for the woman; but the woman for the man.
10	그러므로 여자는 천사들 때문에 그 머리에 권위의 표를 지니고 있어야 합니다.	For this cause ought the woman to have power on her head because of the angels.
11	그러나 주님 안에서는, 남자 없이 여자가 있을 수 없고, 여자 없이 남자가 있을 수 없습니다.	Nevertheless neither is the man without the woman, neither the woman without the man, in the Lord.
12	여자가 남자에게서 난 것과 마찬가지로, 남자도 여자의 몸에서 났습니다. 그리고 모든 것이 다 하나님에게서 생겨났습니다.	For as the woman is of the man, even so is the man also by the woman; but all things of God.
13	여러분은 스스로 판단하여 보십시오. 여자가 머리에 아무것도 쓰지 않은 채로 하나님께 기도하는 것이 마땅한 일이겠습니까?	Judge in yourselves: is it comely that a woman pray unto God uncovered?
14	자연 그 자체가 여러분에게 가르쳐 주지 않습니까? 남자가 머리를 길게 하는 것은 그에게 불명예가 되지만,	Doth not even nature itself teach you, that, if a man have long hair, it is a shame unto him?
15	여자가 머리를 길게 하는 것은 그에게 영광이 되지 않습니까? 긴 머리카락은 그의 머리를 가려 주는 구실을 하는 것입니다.	But if a woman have long hair, it is a glory to her: for her hair is given her for a covering.
16	이 문제를 두고 논쟁을 벌이려고 생각하는 사람이 있을지는 모르나, 그런 풍습은 우리에게도 없고, 하나님의 교회에도 없습니다.	But if any man seem to be contentious, we have no such custom, neither the churches of God.
17	성만찬의 오용을 책망하다 다음에 지시하려는 문제에서는, 내가 여러분을 칭찬할 수 없습니다. 그것은 여러분이 모여서 하는 일이 이로움을 주지 못하고, 해를 주기 때문입니다.	Now in this that I declare unto you I praise you not, that ye come together not for the better, but for the worse.
18	첫째로, 여러분이 교회에서 모일 때에 여러분 가운데 분열이 있다는 말이 들리는데, 나는 그것이 어느 정도는 사실이라고 믿습니다.	For first of all, when ye come together in the church, I hear that there be divisions among you; and I partly believe it.
19	하기야 여러분 가운데서 바르게 사는 사람들이 밝히 드러나려면, 여러분 가운데서도 당파도 없을 수 없을 것입니다.	For there must be also heresies among you, that they which are approved may be made manifest among you.
20	여러분이 분열되어 있으니, 여러분이 한 자리에 모여서 먹어도, 그것은 주님의 만찬을 먹는 것이 아닙니다.	When ye come together therefore into one place, this is not to eat the Lord’s supper.
21	먹을 때에, 사람마다 제가끔 자기 음식을 먼저 먹으므로, 어떤 사람은 배가 고프고, 어떤 사람은 술에 취합니다.	For in eating every one taketh before other his own supper: and one is hungry, and another is drunken.
22	여러분에게는 먹고 마실 집이 없습니까? 그렇지 않으면, 여러분이 하나님의 교회를 멸시하고, 가난한 사람들을 부끄럽게 하려는 것입니까? 내가 여러분에게 무슨 말을 해야 하겠습니까? 내가 여러분을 칭찬해야 하겠습니까? 이런 점에서는 칭찬할 수 없습니다.	What? have ye not houses to eat and to drink in? or despise ye the church of God, and shame them that have not? What shall I say to you? shall I praise you in this? I praise you not.
23	성만찬의 제정(마 26:26-29; 막 14:22-25; 눅 22:14-20) 내가 여러분에게 전해 준 것은 주님께로부터 받은 것입니다. 곧 주 예수께서 잡히시던 밤에, 빵을 드시어서	For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, That the Lord Jesus the same night in which he was betrayed took bread:
24	감사를 드리신 다음에, 떼시고 말씀하셨습니다. "이것은 너희를 위하는 내 몸이다. 이것을 행하여 나를 기억하여라."	And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me.
25	식후에, 잔도 이와 같이 하시고서, 말씀하셨습니다. "이 잔은 내 피로 세운 새 언약이다. 너희가 마실 때마다 이것을 행하여 나를 기억하여라."	After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me.
26	그러므로 여러분이 이 빵을 먹고 이 잔을 마실 때마다, 주님의 죽으심을 그가 오실 때까지 선포하는 것입니다.	For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord’s death till he come.
27	주의 만찬을 바르게 행하여야 한다 그러므로 누구든지, 합당하지 않게 그 빵을 먹거나 주님의 잔을 마시는 사람은, 주님의 몸과 피를 범하는 죄를 짓는 것입니다.	Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord.
28	그러니 각 사람은 자기를 살피십시오. 그런 다음에 그 빵을 먹고, 그 잔을 마시십시오.	But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup.
29	주님의 몸을 분별함이 없이 먹고 마시는 사람은, 자기에게 내릴 심판을 먹고 마시는 것입니다.	For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord’s body.
30	이 때문에 여러분 가운데는, 몸이 약한 사람과 병든 사람과 죽은 사람이 많습니다.	For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep.
31	우리가 우리 스스로를 살피면, 우리는 심판을 받지 않을 것입니다.	For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged.
32	그런데 우리가 주께로부터 심판을 받아서 징계를 받는 것은, 우리가 세상과 함께 정죄함을 받지 않게 하려고 하시는 것입니다.	But when we are judged, we are chastened of the Lord, that we should not be condemned with the world.
33	그러므로 나의 형제자매 여러분, 여러분이 먹으려고 모일 때에는, 서로 기다리십시오.	Wherefore, my brethren, when ye come together to eat, tarry one for another.
34	배가 고픈 사람은 집에서 먹도록 하십시오. 그것은, 여러분이 모이는 일로 심판받는 일이 없게 하려는 것입니다. 그 밖에 남은 문제들은, 내가 가서 처리하겠습니다.	And if any man hunger, let him eat at home; that ye come not together unto condemnation. And the rest will I set in order when I come.
