| 1 | Salmo di Davide. O Eterno, ascolta la mia preghiera, porgi l’orecchio alle mie supplicazioni; nella tua fedeltà e nella tua giustizia, rispondimi, | Hear my prayer, O Lord, give ear to my supplications: in thy faithfulness answer me, and in thy righteousness. |
| 2 | e non venire a giudicio col tuo servitore, perché nessun vivente sarà trovato giusto nel tuo cospetto. | And enter not into judgment with thy servant: for in thy sight shall no man living be justified. |
| 3 | Poiché il nemico perseguita l’anima mia; egli calpesta al suolo la mia vita; mi fa abitare in luoghi tenebrosi come quelli che son morti già da lungo tempo. | For the enemy hath persecuted my soul; he hath smitten my life down to the ground; he hath made me to dwell in darkness, as those that have been long dead. |

| 12 | E nella tua benignità distruggi i miei nemici, e fa’ perire tutti quelli che affliggono l’anima mia; perché io son tuo servitore. | And of thy mercy cut off mine enemies, and destroy all them that afflict my soul: for I am thy servant. |
