PESTUS lao pwarador nan wei, ap kotidalang Ierusalem sang Säsarea ni ran kasilu. | Now when Festus was come into the province, after three days he ascended from Cesarea to Jerusalem.
Samero lapalap o saumas akan en Sus oko ap pwara dong re a weiweiloke Paulus o poekipoeki re a, | Then the high priest and the chief of the Jews informed him against Paul, and besought him,
O inong iong konekon re a, pwen palian Paulus, pwe a en wa dong Ierusalem i, a re masamasan i, pwen kamele ni a kotikot kodo. | And desired favour against him, that he would send for him to Jerusalem, laying wait in the way to kill him.
A Pestus masani, me Paulus pan mimieta Säsarea, a pein i pan madang masel wei. | But Festus answered, that Paul should be kept at Cesarea, and that he himself would depart shortly thither.
A me lapalap re omail pan kak iang ia kodila o kadede ol o, ma dip a mia. | Let them therefore, said he, which among you are able, go down with me, and accuse this man, if there be any wickedness in him.
A lao kotikot re ’rail pong walu pong de ngaul, ap kotidilang Säsarea o mandan ran o a kaipokedi pon mol en kadeik o masani, Paulus en wisikedo. | And when he had tarried among them more than ten days, he went down unto Cesarea; and the next day sitting on the judgment seat commanded Paul to be brought.
A lao pwarador, Sus oko, me kodido sang Ierusalem, ap kapil pena i o kadipe i kaualap, ap sota kak kadededa. | And when he was come, the Jews which came down from Jerusalem stood round about, and laid many and grievous complaints against Paul, which they could not prove.
Pwe Paulus kotin sapen masani duen pein i: I sota wiadar dipi ong kapung en Sus oko, de ong im en kaudok o, de ong Sisa. | While he answered for himself, Neither against the law of the Jews, neither against the temple, nor yet against Cesar, have I offended any thing at all.
A Pestus men konekon ren Sus oko, ap sapeng Paulus masani: Koe men kodalang Ierusalem, pwen pakadeikada re i wasa o? | But Festus, willing to do the Jews a pleasure, answered Paul, and said, Wilt thou go up to Jerusalem, and there be judged of these things before me?
A Paulus kotin masani: I mi mon mol en kadeik en Sisa, wasa me mau ong, i en pakadeikada. Sota me sapung eu, me i wiai ong Sus oko, duen me pein komui mangi. | Then said Paul, I stand at Cesar’s judgment seat, where I ought to be judged: to the Jews have I done no wrong, as thou very well knowest.
Ma i wiadar sapung eu de meakot me warong kamela, i sota pan kang mela. A ma so melel, me mepukat kine kin ia, sota me pan kak pang ia lang irail. I dorolang Sisa! | For if I be an offender, or have committed any thing worthy of death, I refuse not to die: but if there be none of these things whereof these accuse me, no man may deliver me unto them. I appeal unto Cesar.
Pestus lao kalelapok ren momod en kadeik o, ap masani: Koe dorolang Sisa, ari koe pan pwarala ren Sisa. | Then Festus, when he had conferred with the council, answered, Hast thou appealed unto Cesar? unto Cesar shalt thou go.
Murin ran akai nanmarki Akripa o Pernise koti dong Säsarea, pwen ranamau ong Pestus. | And after certain days king Agrippa and Bernice came unto Cesarea to salute Festus.
Ira lao kotikot wasa o pong toto, Pestus ap kaireki nanmarki duen Paulus masani: Ol sensal amen mi met, me Peliks saliedi ap samalar. | And when they had been there many days, Festus declared Paul’s cause unto the king, saying, There is a certain man left in bonds by Felix:
A samero lapalap o saumas en Sus akan kaire kin ia duen i ni ai potopot Ierusalem inong iong i en kadeikada i. | About whom, when I was at Jerusalem, the chief priests and the elders of the Jews informed me, desiring to have judgment against him.
A ngai sapeng irail: Kaidin duen tiak en men Rom, en pangala aramas amen, en kamela, mon me pangala i kan saikenta sansal mo a, o a muei ong i er, en sapeng duen me re pang kila i. | To whom I answered, It is not the manner of the Romans to deliver any man to die, before that he which is accused have the accusers face to face, and have licence to answer for himself concerning the crime laid against him.
Irail lao pokon dong met, a mandan ran o i madang mondi pon mol en kadeik o inda, ol o en wisikedo. | Therefore, when they were come hither, without any delay on the morrow I sat on the judgment seat, and commanded the man to be brought forth.
A me pangala i kan lao pwarado, re sota katitiki mesued kot, duen i kiki ong. | Against whom when the accusers stood up, they brought none accusation of such things as I supposed:
A akai peipeidok mia duen pein arail lamalam o duen ol mela amen me ad a Iesus, me Paulus kin inda, me dene a memaureta. | But had certain questions against him of their own superstition, and of one Jesus, which was dead, whom Paul affirmed to be alive.
Ngai ari poneponeki duen mepukat, i ap idok re a, ma a sota men kodalang Ierusalem, pwen pakadeikada wasa o duen mepukat. | And because I doubted of such manner of questions, I asked him whether he would go to Jerusalem, and there be judged of these matters.
A Paulus lao dorolang kadeik en Aukustus, ngai ap inda, ren koledi i, i lao kadarala i ren Sisa. | But when Paul had appealed to be reserved unto the hearing of Augustus, I commanded him to be kept till I might send him to Cesar.
Akripa ap masani ong Pestus: I pil men rongerong aramas o. A masani: Lakap kom pan rong i. | Then Agrippa said unto Festus, I would also hear the man myself. To morrow, said he, thou shalt hear him.
A mandan ran o Akripa i Pernise lao kotin pwarado ni ar kapwat lingan kaualap o kotilong ong nan im en kapung, o ol lapalap akan iangaki kaun en kanim o, Pestus ap masani, Paulus en wisikedo. | And on the morrow, when Agrippa was come, and Bernice, with great pomp, and was entered into the place of hearing, with the chief captains, and principal men of the city, at Festus’ commandment Paul was brought forth.
A Pestus masani: Maing nanmarki Akripa o komail ol akan karos, me iang kit kotikot wasa et, komail masani, pweki men et, Sus akan karos kin poekipoeki re i nan Ierusalem o pil met; ni ar palian i indada, me dene a sowar ong memaureta. | And Festus said, King Agrippa, and all men which are here present with us, ye see this man, about whom all the multitude of the Jews have dealt with me, both at Jerusalem, and also here, crying that he ought not to live any longer.
A i lao diarada, me sota me a wiadar, me war ong kamela o pein i dorolang Aukustus, ngai ap kileledier me i pan kadarala i. | But when I found that he had committed nothing worthy of death, and that he himself hath appealed to Augustus, I have determined to send him.
A sota me i asa, en intingiedi wong nai saupeidi. I me i waki dong komail i, mo ’mui ta maing nanmarki Akripa, pwe kapung lao nikier, i en asa, da me i en intingieki wei. | Of whom I have no certain thing to write unto my lord. Wherefore I have brought him forth before you, and specially before thee, O king Agrippa, that, after examination had, I might have somewhat to write.
Pwe i lamelame, me sapung, en kadarala me salidi amen, ap sota kaireki duen karep en salidi. | For it seemeth to me unreasonable to send a prisoner, and not withal to signify the crimes laid against him.
