|---|---|---|
KOE der lokaia kelail ong ol laud amen, a panaui i due sam amen, a me pulepul due ri om akan, | Rebuke not an elder, but intreat him as a father; and the younger men as brethren;
Li laud due in akan, a me pulepul due ri om li akan ni makelekel melel. | The elder women as mothers; the younger as sisters, with all purity.
Kakaki li odi kan, me li odi melel. | Honour widows that are widows indeed.
A ma li odi na seri kan mia, de wa en na seri ko, re pan padakki mas apwali pein ar penainai, o depuk ong ar papa o nono, pwe i me mau o kon ong Kot. | But if any widow have children or nephews, let them learn first to shew piety at home, and to requite their parents: for that is good and acceptable before God.
A iet li odi melel amen, me kelep, me kin kaporoporeki Kot, o podidi ong ngidingid o kapakap akan ni pong o ni ran. | Now she that is a widow indeed, and desolate, trusteth in God, and continueth in supplications and prayers night and day.
A me kin kapwaiada a inong sued nan i melar ni a memaur. | But she that liveth in pleasure is dead while she liveth.
Mepukat padapadaki, pwe ren sota karaunepa. | And these things give in charge, that they may be blameless.
A ma amen sota kin apwali na kan, a mas toun im a kan, i me kasela poson, o a sued sang me soposon amen. | But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.
Li odi men pan kileledi, ma a sota pulepul sang saunpar woneisok o ma a warok en ol ta men. | Let not a widow be taken into the number under threescore years old, having been the wife of one man,
O me kalok mau ki a wiawia mau, o me wiada seri, o me apwali men kairu, o me widen nä en saraui kan, o me kadek ong me kamekame kan, o me kapwaiada song en wiawia mau karos. | Well reported of for good works; if she have brought up children, if she have lodged strangers, if she have washed the saints’ feet, if she have relieved the afflicted, if she have diligently followed every good work.
A der tuki ong li odi pulepul akan, pwe irail lao inong wei sang Kristus, re men pur ong papaud. | But the younger widows refuse: for when they have begun to wax wanton against Christ, they will marry;
A irail pan pakadeikada, pwe re muei sanger tapin poson. | Having damnation, because they have cast off their first faith.
A re pil ponkake o papang sili im akan, a kaidin ponkaka ta, pwe re pil poupou sili, o pil usa sili en amen a wiawia, o ar lokelokaia me sota mau. | And withal they learn to be idle, wandering about from house to house; and not only idle, but tattlers also and busybodies, speaking things which they ought not.
A i men, li odi pulepul en papaud, o naitik, o apwali im ar, o der kare ong me sued o, en lalaue. | I will therefore that the younger women marry, bear children, guide the house, give none occasion to the adversary to speak reproachfully.
Pwe akai me wuki wei, wuki ong Satan. | For some are already turned aside after Satan.
A ma li odi men mi ren ol me poson amen de ren li me poson amen, a en pein apapwali i o der katoutoui momodisou, pwen itar ong me li odi melel. | If any man or woman that believeth have widows, let them relieve them, and let not the church be charged; that it may relieve them that are widows indeed.
Saunkoa kan me kin dodok mau, pan waunla melel, ir me kin sauasa ni padak o kawewe. | Let the elders that rule well be counted worthy of double honour, especially they who labour in the word and doctrine.
Pwe kisin likau o masani: Koe der penadi au en kau ol, me tiakedi wan wit. O toun dodok me war ong pwain en dodok. | For the scripture saith, Thou shalt not muzzle the ox that treadeth out the corn. And, The labourer is worthy of his reward.
Karaun pan saunkoa men der kamelele, ma so saunkadede riamen de silimen mia. | Against an elder receive not an accusation, but before two or three witnesses.
Ir me wia dip, kapung ong mon karos, pwe me tei kan en masakala. | Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear.
I kakaliki ong uk mon Kot Kristus Iesus o tounlang lipilipil akan, koe en wiada mepukat, o so lipilipil, o so pwen konekon ren aramas. | I charge thee before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, and the elect angels, that thou observe these things without preferring one before another, doing nothing by partiality.
Der madang pokadang pon amen pa om, o pil der dipane kila dip en amen kai, a pein koe en makelekel. | Lay hands suddenly on no man, neither be partaker of other men’s sins: keep thyself pure.
Koe der nim pil, a wain kis me kon ong kaped om o pweki om somau pan pak toto. | Drink no longer water, but use a little wine for thy stomach’s sake and thine often infirmities.
Dip en akai aramas me sansal ap mau ong kadeikada ansau wet, a dip en me tei kan pan sansal eu ran. | Some men’s sins are open beforehand, going before to judgment; and some men they follow after.
Pil dueta en akai ar wiawia mau me sansal metet, a me tei kan sota kak rirala. | Likewise also the good works of some are manifest beforehand; and they that are otherwise cannot be hid.
