절	Old Public Domain Pohnpeian Bible	King James Version
1	MELEL kasoi pot et: Ma amen rapaki koa en pisop, a kin inong iong wiawia mau eu.	This is a true saying, If a man desire the office of a bishop, he desireth a good work.
2	A pisop o en pung, o warok en li ta men, o so kowei kodo, a lelapok, o tiak mau, o apwali men kairu, o koiok ong padak;	A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach;
3	A der kamom soko, o so pamara, a en materok, o der inong iong akamai, o der pok ong moni.	Not given to wine, no striker, not greedy of filthy lucre; but patient, not a brawler, not covetous;
4	Me kin kaunda mau pein toun im a, o me na seri kan kin peiki ong ni tiak pung.	One that ruleth well his own house, having his children in subjection with all gravity;
5	A ma amen, me sokoiok ong kaunda pein toun im a, iaduen a pan kak kaunda momodisou en Kot?	(For if a man know not how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God?)
6	Pil kaidin saulang kap amen, pwe a ende aklapalap, ap lodi ong kadeik en tewil.	Not a novice, lest being lifted up with pride he fall into the condemnation of the devil.
7	O en pil kalok mau ren me mi liki, pwe a de lodi ong kanamenok o katikatiamau pan tewil.	Moreover he must have a good report of them which are without; lest he fall into reproach and the snare of the devil.
8	Pil dueta saunkoa kan en lelapok, so lo riapot, so kamom soko, so noroke moni.	Likewise must the deacons be grave, not doubletongued, not given to much wine, not greedy of filthy lucre;
9	Me kin kolekol nan insen arail makelekel rir en poson.	Holding the mystery of the faith in a pure conscience.
10	Mepukat en kasosongla mas, irail ap pan papa, ma irail me pung.	And let these also first be proved; then let them use the office of a deacon, being found blameless.
11	Pil dueta en saunkoa ar warok kan, ren wia me kon ong, o so likinekine, o so kowei kodo, o melel ni meakaros.	Even so must their wives be grave, not slanderers, sober, faithful in all things.
12	Saunkoa kan en warok en li ta men o ren kaunda mau nair seri kan o toun im arail.	Let the deacons be the husbands of one wife, ruling their children and their own houses well.
13	A me papa mau, kin kalok maui pein irail, o re pan pereperenki melel poson me mi ren Kristus Iesus.	For they that have used the office of a deacon well purchase to themselves a good degree, and great boldness in the faith which is in Christ Jesus.
14	Mepukat i inting wong uk, o i kaporoporeki, me i pan pwarala re om madang.	These things write I unto thee, hoping to come unto thee shortly:
15	A ma i pwapwand, koe en asa duen me koe pan wia nan tanpas en Kot, iei momodisou en Kot ieias, o ur o pason en melel.	But if I tarry long, that thou mayest know how thou oughtest to behave thyself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.
16	Meid lapalap rir en pai ren Kot: Kot sansaleda ni uduk, ap diarokada me pung amen ren Ngen, ap pwaralang tounlang kan, ap lolok ong men liki kan, ap kamelel lar ren toun sappa, ap peukadalang wasa lingan.	And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.
