KOMAIL anane limpok, pil inong iong pai ngenin akan, a iet me kasampwal re ’rail, kokopada! Follow after charity, and desire spiritual gifts, but rather that ye may prophesy.
Pwe me kin lokaia kida ngil en wai, kaidin aramas akan, me a kin lokaia ong, a ong Kot, pwe sota amen kin dedeki; ari so, ni ngen o a kin lokaia kida me rir akan. For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries.
A me kin kokop, kin padaki ong aramas akan, pwen kamaui, o panau o kamait ir ala. But he that prophesieth speaketh unto men to edification, and exhortation, and comfort.
A me lokaiaki ngil en wai, kin kamaui pein i, a me kin kokop, kin kamaui momodisou. He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself; but he that prophesieth edifieth the church.
I men, komail karos en asa lokaia ki ngil toror, a mak eta, komail en kokopada, pwe me kin kokopada, me lapa sang me kin kaparok ki ngil toror, ma a so kak kasiriwukila, pwe momodisou en kamau kila. I would that ye all spake with tongues, but rather that ye prophesied: for greater is he that prophesieth than he that speaketh with tongues, except he interpret, that the church may receive edifying.
Ari ri ai kan, ma i pwara wong komail, ap lokaia ki ngil toror, da katepa ong komail, ma i sota kaweweda de kasansaleda, de kokopada, de padak? Now, brethren, if I come unto you speaking with tongues, what shall I profit you, except I shall speak to you either by revelation, or by knowledge, or by prophesying, or by doctrine?
Iduen meakan, me kin lokolokaia ap sota memaur, ma men kwai de arp sota pan ngor pasang, is me pan kak dedeki, da me ira kauleki? And even things without life giving sound, whether pipe or harp, except they give a distinction in the sounds, how shall it be known what is piped or harped?
O ma koronete pan popeuk ping, is me pan onopadang mauin? For if the trumpet give an uncertain sound, who shall prepare himself to the battle?
A iduen komail, ma komail pan lokaia ki ngil toror, ap sota kaweweda, is me pan dedeki? Pwe omail lokaia pan me mal kot. So likewise ye, except ye utter by the tongue words easy to be understood, how shall it be known what is spoken? for ye shall speak into the air.
Song en lokaia toto nan sappa, a sota eu me so puloi. There are, it may be, so many kinds of voices in the world, and none of them is without signification.
A ma i sasa wewe en lokaia eu, i pan rasong men wai men ong me kin kaparok, o me kin kaparok, pan rasong men wai men ong ia. Therefore if I know not the meaning of the voice, I shall be unto him that speaketh a barbarian, and he that speaketh shall be a barbarian unto me.
A pil dueta komail, pwe komail kin anane pai ngenin akan, komail ari pil ngongki kakairida ni mepukat, pwen kamauie kila momodisou. Even so ye, forasmuch as ye are zealous of spiritual gifts, seek that ye may excel to the edifying of the church.
A ma amen lokaia kida ngil en wai, i en kapakap ap pil kasiriwukila. Wherefore let him that speaketh in an unknown tongue pray that he may interpret.
Pwe ma i wia kapakap ki lokaia ngil en wai eu, ngen i kin kapakap ap sota katepa ong amen. For if I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is unfruitful.
Ari, da me i pan wia? I pan kapakap ni ngen i ap pil pan kapakap ni ai lamelam; i pan kapinga ni ngen i ap pil kapinga ni ai lamelam. What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also: I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also.
A ma koe pan kapaiada ki ngen o, iaduen me sota dedeki pan kak inda amen murin om kapinga? Pwe a sasa me koe indinda. Else when thou shalt bless with the spirit, how shall he that occupieth the room of the unlearned say Amen at thy giving of thanks, seeing he understandeth not what thou sayest?
Ei me mau melel om kapikapinga, a sota kadepa ong me teio. For thou verily givest thanks well, but the other is not edified.
I kin danke Kot, pweki i kin lokaiaki ngil toror sang komail. I thank my God, I speak with tongues more than ye all:
Ari so nan momodisou i men kida lep in lokaia limau, me pwili sang ai lamelam sang lep in lokaia nen ni ngil toror, pwen padaki ong me tei kan. Yet in the church I had rather speak five words with my understanding, that by my voice I might teach others also, than ten thousand words in an unknown tongue.
Ri ai kan, komail der wiala seri ni omail lamelam, a ni me sued komail en rasong kisin seri, a ni omail lamelam komail en unsokela. Brethren, be not children in understanding: howbeit in malice be ye children, but in understanding be men.
A intingidier nan kapung: Lokaia o kil en aua toror, me I pan lokaiaki ong kainok wet, a re pil sota pan duki ong ia, me Kaun o kotin masani. In the law it is written, With men of other tongues and other lips will I speak unto this people; and yet for all that will they not hear me, saith the Lord.
Nan i me lokaia toror mia, pwen kileledi kaidin me poson akan, a me soposon akan; a deideikop kaidin ong me soposon akan, pwe ong me poson akan. Wherefore tongues are for a sign, not to them that believe, but to them that believe not: but prophesying serveth not for them that believe not, but for them which believe.
A ma momodisou pan pokon pena wasa kis, o ma karos pan lokaia ni ngil toror, a ma akai iang me sota dedeki, de akai me soposon, irail sota pan inda, me komail iakalar? If therefore the whole church be come together into one place, and all speak with tongues, and there come in those that are unlearned, or unbelievers, will they not say that ye are mad?
A ma karos kin kokop, o amen pan pwarado, me soposon, o me sota dedeki, karos pan kasansale ong i dip a, o a pan pakasaui ren karos. But if all prophesy, and there come in one that believeth not, or one unlearned, he is convinced of all, he is judged of all:
Iduen a me rir akan nan mongiong i pan sansaleda, o a pan tairokedi ni mas a, kaudoki ong Kot, o pan inda, melel Kot kotikot re omail. And thus are the secrets of his heart made manifest; and so falling down on his face he will worship God, and report that God is in you of a truth.
Ri ai kan, iaduen komail ni omail pokon pena, kaidin amen amen kin kida psalm eu? A amen kin kawewe, a amen ngil toror, a amen kasansal eu, a amen kin kasiriwukila; a karos en wiaui, en kamauiada. How is it then, brethren? when ye come together, every one of you hath a psalm, hath a doctrine, hath a tongue, hath a revelation, hath an interpretation. Let all things be done unto edifying.
A ma amen pan wia ngil en wai, me ta riamen, de ma me toto, re pan silimen, a irail pan irok wei a amen en kasirawukila. If any man speak in an unknown tongue, let it be by two, or at the most by three, and that by course; and let one interpret.
A ma sota men kasiriwuk mia, i en nenenla nan momodisou; a en kasoi ong pein i o Kot. But if there be no interpreter, let him keep silence in the church; and let him speak to himself, and to God.
A riamen de silimen ren saukop akan pan kak kaparok, a me tei kan en kasauiada. Let the prophets speak two or three, and let the other judge.
A ma amen, ren me momod wasa o, pan diar kasansal eu, men mas ap pan nenenla. If any thing be revealed to another that sitteth by, let the first hold his peace.
A komail karos kak kokop, irok weida, pwe karos en padakki o kamaitala. For ye may all prophesy one by one, that all may learn, and all may be comforted.
A ngen en saukop akan kin duki ong saukop akan. And the spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets.
Pwe kaidin komoan me ping men Kot, a en popol duen ni momodisou en saraui akan karos. For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.
Omail li akan en nenenla nan momodisou kan, pwe a sota muei ong irail, en kaparok; a irail en papa, duen kapung me pil masani. Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith the law.
A ma irail men asa okotme, irail en kalelapok ren arail warok kan ni deu ’rail, pwe me kanamenok, li en kaparok nan momodisou. And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church.
De masan en Kot tapi sang komail? De a ko wong komail eta? What? came the word of God out from you? or came it unto you only?
A ma amen lamelame, me a saukop amen, de me a ngenin, a en asa wewe en me i intingki wong komail, pwe mepukat kusoned en Kaun o. If any man think himself to be a prophet, or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things that I write unto you are the commandments of the Lord.
A ma amen lolepon, i en lolepon. But if any man be ignorant, let him be ignorant.
Ari ri ai kan en inong iong kokop, o ender kainapwi lokaia ngil toror. Wherefore, brethren, covet to prophesy, and forbid not to speak with tongues.
A meakaros en wiaui nin tiak mau o pung. Let all things be done decently and in order.
