1	넘는명절을 지키라고 하시다 여호와께서 이집트 땅에서 모세와 아론에게 말씀하셨다.	And the Lord spake unto Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt, saying,
2	“이달이 너희에게는 여러 달의 시작이다. 너희에게는 1년의 첫째 달이지.	This month shall be unto you the beginning of months: it shall be the first month of the year to you.
3	이스라엘 온 무리에게 이렇게 전해 주어라. ‘이달 열째 날에 아버지 쪽 집안마다 어린 짐승 한 마리씩, 곧 집마다 어린 짐승 한 마리씩 마련해야 한다.	Speak ye unto all the congregation of Israel, saying, In the tenth day of this month they shall take to them every man a lamb, according to the house of their fathers, a lamb for an house:
4	어린 짐승 한 마리에 비해서 가족 수가 너무 적을 수도 있겠지. 그럴 때는 자기 집에서 가장 가까운 이웃과 함께, 사람 수에 맞추어 마련해야 한다. 저마다 먹을 분량에 맞추어 그 어린 짐승을 마련하는 값을 치러야 한다.	And if the household be too little for the lamb, let him and his neighbour next unto his house take it according to the number of the souls; every man according to his eating shall make your count for the lamb.
5	너희가 마련할 것은 1년 된 흠 없는 수컷이다. 양이나 염소 가운데서 마련해야 한다.	Your lamb shall be without blemish, a male of the first year: ye shall take it out from the sheep, or from the goats:
6	이달 열넷째 날까지 잘 돌보아 두었다가, 저녁 어스름에 이스라엘 무리가 다 모여 그 짐승을 잡아야 한다.	And ye shall keep it up until the fourteenth day of the same month: and the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel shall kill it in the evening.
7	피는 받아 두었다가, 그 짐승 먹을 집의 문 양쪽 기둥과 문 위쪽 가로대에 발라야 한다.	And they shall take of the blood, and strike it on the two side posts and on the upper door post of the houses, wherein they shall eat it.
8	고기는 그날 밤에 불에 구워서, 누룩없는빵(무교병)과 함께 쓴 나물을 곁들여 먹어야 한다.	And they shall eat the flesh in that night, roast with fire, and unleavened bread; and with bitter herbs they shall eat it.
9	고기를 날것으로나 물에 삶아서 먹지는 않아야 한다. 짐승의 머리는 종아리와 내장과 함께 불에 구워서 먹어야 한다.	Eat not of it raw, nor sodden at all with water, but roast with fire; his head with his legs, and with the purtenance thereof.
10	그 어느 것도 아침까지 남겨 두지 말고, 아침까지 남은 것은 불에 태워 버려야 한다.	And ye shall let nothing of it remain until the morning; and that which remaineth of it until the morning ye shall burn with fire.
11	짐승을 먹을 때는 이렇게 해야 한다. 허리에는 띠를 두르고, 발에는 샌들을 신고, 손에는 지팡이를 잡고 서둘러 먹어야 한다. 이것이 여호와 앞에서 지킬 넘는명절(유월절)이다.	And thus shall ye eat it; with your loins girded, your shoes on your feet, and your staff in your hand; and ye shall eat it in haste: it is the Lord’s passover.
12	그날 밤에 내가 이집트 땅을 지나가며 사람이든 짐승이든 이집트 땅에서 첫째로 태어난 것은 모조리 치겠다. 이집트의 모든 신에게는 형벌을 내리겠다. 나는 여호와다.	For I will pass through the land of Egypt this night, and will smite all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and against all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgment: I am the Lord.
13	너희 집에 발라 놓은 피가 너희를 위한 증표가 될 것이다. 그 피를 보고 내가 너희를 넘어갈 것이다. 내가 이집트 땅을 칠 때, 파괴하는 천사의 손이 너희에게는 미치지 않을 것이다.	And the blood shall be to you for a token upon the houses where ye are: and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you, when I smite the land of Egypt.
14	이날은 너희가 기념할 날이다. 너희는 대대로 이날을 여호와를 위해 명절로 지켜야 한다. 이는 영원한 규정이다. 너희는 이 명절을 지켜야 한다.’”	And this day shall be unto you for a memorial; and ye shall keep it a feast to the Lord throughout your generations; ye shall keep it a feast by an ordinance for ever.
15	누룩없는명절을 지키라고 하시다 “‘7일 동안 너희는 누룩없는빵(무교병)을 먹어야 한다. 첫날에 누룩을 집에서 아예 치워 버려야 한다. 누룩있는빵(유교병)을 먹는 사람마다 이스라엘에서 잘려 나갈 것이기 때문이다. 첫날부터 일곱째 날까지 그럴 것이다.	Seven days shall ye eat unleavened bread; even the first day ye shall put away leaven out of your houses: for whosoever eateth leavened bread from the first day until the seventh day, that soul shall be cut off from Israel.
16	첫날에는 거룩한 모임을 열고, 일곱째 날에도 거룩한 모임을 열어야 한다. 그 두 날에는 어떤 일도 하지 말아야 한다. 다만 저마다 먹을 것은 만들어도 괜찮다.	And in the first day there shall be an holy convocation, and in the seventh day there shall be an holy convocation to you; no manner of work shall be done in them, save that which every man must eat, that only may be done of you.
17	너희는 누룩없는명절(무교절)을 지켜야 한다. 바로 이날에 내가 너희를 군대 조직으로 나누어 이집트 땅에서 데리고 나왔으므로, 너희는 대대로 이날을 지켜야 한다. 이는 영원한 규정이다.	And ye shall observe the feast of unleavened bread; for in this selfsame day have I brought your armies out of the land of Egypt: therefore shall ye observe this day in your generations by an ordinance for ever.
18	첫째 달 열넷째 날 저녁에 너희는 누룩없는빵(무교병)을 먹어야 한다. 그달 스물한째 날 저녁까지 그렇게 해야 한다.	In the first month, on the fourteenth day of the month at even, ye shall eat unleavened bread, until the one and twentieth day of the month at even.
19	7일 동안 너희의 집에서 누룩을 찾아 볼 수 없어야 한다. 누룩 넣은 것을 먹는 사람마다 이스라엘 무리에서 잘려 나갈 것이다. 나그네든 그 땅 토박이든 마찬가지다.	Seven days shall there be no leaven found in your houses: for whosoever eateth that which is leavened, even that soul shall be cut off from the congregation of Israel, whether he be a stranger, or born in the land.
20	누룩 넣은 것은 전혀 먹지 말아야 한다. 너희가 사는 곳 어디서든지 누룩없는빵(무교병)을 먹어야 한다.’”	Ye shall eat nothing leavened; in all your habitations shall ye eat unleavened bread.
21	넘는명절에 치를 예식 모세가 이스라엘의 원로들을 모두 불러 모아서 말했다. “여러분은 가서 가문을 위해 양들을 마련해 두었다가, 넘는명절(유월절) 제물로 잡으십시오.	Then Moses called for all the elders of Israel, and said unto them, Draw out and take you a lamb according to your families, and kill the passover.
22	히솝(우슬초) 다발을 가져다가 대야에 받아 둔 피에 담그십시오. 대야에 받아 둔 피는 문 위쪽 가로대와 양쪽 기둥에 바르십시오. 여러분 가운데서는 그 누구도 아침이 될 때까지 집 문밖으로 나가지 말아야 합니다.	And ye shall take a bunch of hyssop, and dip it in the blood that is in the bason, and strike the lintel and the two side posts with the blood that is in the bason; and none of you shall go out at the door of his house until the morning.
23	여호와께서 지나가시며 이집트를 치실 것입니다. 그러다가 문 위쪽 가로대와 양쪽 기둥에 발라 둔 피를 보시면 여호와께서 그 문은 넘어가실 것입니다. 파괴하는 천사가 여러분의 집으로 들어가서 재앙을 내리도록 여호와께서 내버려두지 않으실 것입니다.	For the Lord will pass through to smite the Egyptians; and when he seeth the blood upon the lintel, and on the two side posts, the Lord will pass over the door, and will not suffer the destroyer to come in unto your houses to smite you.
24	여러분은 이 말씀을, 여러분과 여러분의 자녀가 영원히 지킬 규정으로 알고 따라야 합니다.	And ye shall observe this thing for an ordinance to thee and to thy sons for ever.
25	여호와께서 말씀하신 대로 여러분에게 주실 땅에 여러분이 들어가면, 이런 예식을 치러야 합니다.	And it shall come to pass, when ye be come to the land which the Lord will give you, according as he hath promised, that ye shall keep this service.
26	또한 여러분의 자녀가 이런 예식이 여러분에게 무슨 뜻이 있는지를 묻는다고 합시다.	And it shall come to pass, when your children shall say unto you, What mean ye by this service?
27	그러면 이렇게 대답하시지요. ‘이것은 넘는명절(유월절)에 여호와께 바치는 희생제물이야. 여호와께서 이집트에서 이스라엘 사람들의 집을 넘어가셨거든! 여호와께서 이집트는 치셨지만, 우리의 집들은 빼내어 주셨어.’” 그러자 백성은 무릎 꿇고 엎드려 절했다.	That ye shall say, It is the sacrifice of the Lord’s passover, who passed over the houses of the children of Israel in Egypt, when he smote the Egyptians, and delivered our houses. And the people bowed the head and worshipped.
28	이스라엘 사람들은 가서, 여호와께서 모세와 아론에게 명령하신 대로 했다.	And the children of Israel went away, and did as the Lord had commanded Moses and Aaron, so did they.
29	맏아들들과 첫 새끼들이 다 죽자 이스라엘을 내보내기로 하다 한밤중이 되자, 여호와께서 이집트 땅에서 첫째로 태어난 것을 모조리 치셨다. 임금자리에 앉은 파라오의 맏아들로부터 사로잡혀 웅덩이 감옥에 있던 사람의 맏아들에 이르기까지, 또 집짐승의 첫 새끼도 모조리 치셨다.	And it came to pass, that at midnight the Lord smote all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, from the firstborn of Pharaoh that sat on his throne unto the firstborn of the captive that was in the dungeon; and all the firstborn of cattle.
30	밤에 파라오와 그의 모든 신하와 온 이집트가 일어났다. 이집트에 울부짖는 소리가 크게 울려 퍼졌다. 죽은 사람 없는 집이 하나도 없었기 때문이다.	And Pharaoh rose up in the night, he, and all his servants, and all the Egyptians; and there was a great cry in Egypt; for there was not a house where there was not one dead.
31	파라오가 밤에 모세와 아론을 불러들여서 이렇게 말했다. “일어나서 내 백성 가운데서 나가라! 너희도 이스라엘 사람들도 나가라! 가서, 너희가 말한 대로 여호와를 섬겨라!	And he called for Moses and Aaron by night, and said, Rise up, and get you forth from among my people, both ye and the children of Israel; and go, serve the Lord, as ye have said.
32	너희가 말한 대로 너희 양과 소도 데려가라! 가서 나를 위해서도 복을 빌어 다오!”	Also take your flocks and your herds, as ye have said, and be gone; and bless me also.
33	이집트 사람들은 이스라엘 사람들을 다그치면서 그들을 그 땅에서 내보내려고 서둘렀다. 이대로 두면 자기들이 모두 죽을 것이라고 생각했기 때문이다.	And the Egyptians were urgent upon the people, that they might send them out of the land in haste; for they said, We be all dead men.
34	그래서 이스라엘 백성은 밀반죽이 아직 제대로 부풀지도 않았는데, 그것을 반죽 통에 넣은 채로 옷에 싸서 어깨에 메었다.	And the people took their dough before it was leavened, their kneadingtroughs being bound up in their clothes upon their shoulders.
35	그리고 이스라엘 사람들은 모세가 말한 대로 했다. 그들이 이집트 사람들에게 은붙이와 금붙이와 옷가지들을 달라고 한 것이다.	And the children of Israel did according to the word of Moses; and they borrowed of the Egyptians jewels of silver, and jewels of gold, and raiment:
36	여호와께서 이스라엘 백성이 이집트 사람들의 눈에 들게 하셔서, 이집트 사람들은 이스라엘 백성이 달라는 대로 다 주었다. 이런 식으로 이스라엘 백성은 이집트 사람들의 것을 빼앗았다.	And the Lord gave the people favour in the sight of the Egyptians, so that they lent unto them such things as they required. And they spoiled the Egyptians.
37	이스라엘이 이집트 땅에서 나오다 이스라엘 사람들은 라메세스에서 길을 나서서 숙곳으로 나아갔다. 아이들을 빼면, 걷는 남자가 60만 명쯤 되었다.	And the children of Israel journeyed from Rameses to Succoth, about six hundred thousand on foot that were men, beside children.
38	이스라엘 사람이 아닌 사람들도 많이 섞여서 그들과 함께 나왔고, 양과 소를 비롯하여 짐승도 아주 많았다.	And a mixed multitude went up also with them; and flocks, and herds, even very much cattle.
39	이스라엘 백성은 이집트에서 가져 나온 반죽을 가지고 누룩 없는 동글납작빵을 만들었다. 이집트에서 내쫓길 때, 머뭇거릴 수도 없고 길양식을 만들 수도 없어서, 누룩을 넣지 않았기 때문이다.	And they baked unleavened cakes of the dough which they brought forth out of Egypt, for it was not leavened; because they were thrust out of Egypt, and could not tarry, neither had they prepared for themselves any victual.
40	이스라엘 사람들이 이집트에 머물렀던 기간은 430년이었다.	Now the sojourning of the children of Israel, who dwelt in Egypt, was four hundred and thirty years.
41	430년이 끝나는 바로 그날에 여호와의 모든 군대가 이집트 땅에서 나왔다.	And it came to pass at the end of the four hundred and thirty years, even the selfsame day it came to pass, that all the hosts of the Lord went out from the land of Egypt.
42	그날에 여호와께서 밤을 지새우며 그들을 이집트 땅에서 데리고 나오셨다. 이는 여호와의 밤이다. 모든 이스라엘 사람들이 대대로 깨어서 지켜야 할 밤이다.	It is a night to be much observed unto the Lord for bringing them out from the land of Egypt: this is that night of the Lord to be observed of all the children of Israel in their generations.
43	넘는명절 음식에 관한 규정 여호와께서 모세와 아론에게 말씀하셨다. “넘는명절(유월절)의 규정은 이러하다. 넘는명절(유월절)의 음식을 외국 사람은 그 누구도 먹을 수 없다.	And the Lord said unto Moses and Aaron, This is the ordinance of the passover: There shall no stranger eat thereof:
44	그러나 돈을 주고 산 노예는 그 누구라도 할례받고 나서는 먹을 수 있다.	But every man’s servant that is bought for money, when thou hast circumcised him, then shall he eat thereof.
45	더부살이나 날품팔이는 먹을 수 없다.	A foreigner and an hired servant shall not eat thereof.
46	음식은 그 음식을 장만한 바로 그 집에서 먹어야지, 고기는 조금도 집 밖으로 가지고 나가지 말아야 한다. 또 뼈는 꺾지 말아야 한다.	In one house shall it be eaten; thou shalt not carry forth ought of the flesh abroad out of the house; neither shall ye break a bone thereof.
47	이스라엘 온 무리는 이렇게 해야 한다.	All the congregation of Israel shall keep it.
48	너희 가운데 나그네로 살고 있는 사람이 여호와를 위해 넘는명절(유월절)을 지키려고 하면, 그에게 딸린 남자는 모두 할례를 받아야 한다. 그런 다음에야 그는 나아와서 넘는명절(유월절)을 지킬 수 있다. 그는 그 땅의 토박이처럼 될 것이다. 그러나 할례받지 않은 사람은 그 누구라도 넘는명절(유월절) 음식을 먹을 수 없다.	And when a stranger shall sojourn with thee, and will keep the passover to the Lord, let all his males be circumcised, and then let him come near and keep it; and he shall be as one that is born in the land: for no uncircumcised person shall eat thereof.
49	토박이에게나 너희 가운데 나그네로 살고 있는 사람에게나 한가지 법규를 적용해야 한다.”	One law shall be to him that is homeborn, and unto the stranger that sojourneth among you.
50	모든 이스라엘 사람들이 여호와께서 모세와 아론에게 명령하신 대로 했다.	Thus did all the children of Israel; as the Lord commanded Moses and Aaron, so did they.
51	바로 그날에 여호와께서 이스라엘 사람들을 군대 조직으로 나누어 이집트 땅에서 데리고 나오셨다.	And it came to pass the selfsame day, that the Lord did bring the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt by their armies.
