1	맏아들들과 첫 새끼들을 죽이시겠다는 말씀을 모세가 전하다 여호와께서 모세에게 말씀하셨다. “파라오와 이집트 사람들에게 아직 한 가지 괴로움이 더 닥치게 할 것이다. 그런 다음에야 파라오가 너희를 여기서 내보내 줄 것이다. 그가 너희를 정말로 내보내 줄 때에는 너희를 이곳에서 아예 내쫓을 것이다.	And the Lord said unto Moses, Yet will I bring one plague more upon Pharaoh, and upon Egypt; afterwards he will let you go hence: when he shall let you go, he shall surely thrust you out hence altogether.
2	너는 백성의 귀에 들리도록 말해 주어라. 남자든 여자든 저마다 이웃에게 은붙이와 금붙이를 달라고 하도록 해라.”	Speak now in the ears of the people, and let every man borrow of his neighbour, and every woman of her neighbour, jewels of silver, and jewels of gold.
3	여호와께서 그 백성을 이집트 사람들의 눈에 들게 하셨다. 또한 그 사람 모세가 이집트 땅에서 파라오의 신하들과 그 백성의 눈에 매우 훌륭하게 보였다.	And the Lord gave the people favour in the sight of the Egyptians. Moreover the man Moses was very great in the land of Egypt, in the sight of Pharaoh’s servants, and in the sight of the people.
4	모세가 파라오에게 말했다. “여호와께서 이렇게 말씀하셨습니다. ‘한밤중에 내가 이집트 한가운데로 지나갈 것이다.	And Moses said, Thus saith the Lord, About midnight will I go out into the midst of Egypt:
5	그러면 이집트 땅에서 처음 태어난 것은 다 죽을 것이다. 임금자리에 앉은 파라오의 맏아들로부터 맷돌 뒤에 앉은 여자 노예의 맏아들에 이르기까지 죽을 것이다. 또 집짐승의 첫 새끼도 모조리 죽을 것이다.	And all the firstborn in the land of Egypt shall die, from the firstborn of Pharaoh that sitteth upon his throne, even unto the firstborn of the maidservant that is behind the mill; and all the firstborn of beasts.
6	그래서 이집트 온 땅에, 이전에도 없었고 앞으로도 없을 만큼 크게 울부짖는 소리가 날 것이다.	And there shall be a great cry throughout all the land of Egypt, such as there was none like it, nor shall be like it any more.
7	그러나 이스라엘 사람들에게 속했다면, 그 어떤 사람에게든 짐승에게든 개조차 혀를 뾰족하게 내밀어 위협하지 않을 것이다. 그래서 여호와가 이집트 사람들과 이스라엘 사람들 사이에 차이를 두는 것을 너희가 알게 될 것이다.’	But against any of the children of Israel shall not a dog move his tongue, against man or beast: that ye may know how that the Lord doth put a difference between the Egyptians and Israel.
8	그렇게 되면 폐하의 이 모든 신하가 저에게로 내려와서 엎드려 ‘그대! 그대를 뒤따르는 백성을 다 데리고 떠나 주시오.’ 하고 말할 것입니다. 그런 뒤에야 제가 떠날 것입니다.” 그러고서 모세는 크게 화를 내면서 파라오에게서 물러났다.	And all these thy servants shall come down unto me, and bow down themselves unto me, saying, Get thee out, and all the people that follow thee: and after that I will go out. And he went out from Pharaoh in a great anger.
9	여호와께서 모세에게 말씀하셨다. “파라오가 너희 말을 듣지 않을 것이다. 그래서 내가 이집트 땅에서 기적을 많이 일으킬 것이다.”	And the Lord said unto Moses, Pharaoh shall not hearken unto you; that my wonders may be multiplied in the land of Egypt.
10	모세와 아론이 파라오 앞에서 이런 모든 기적을 일으켰다. 그러나 여호와께서 파라오의 마음을 닫아 버리셔서, 파라오는 자기 땅에서 이스라엘 사람들을 내보내 주지 않았다.	And Moses and Aaron did all these wonders before Pharaoh: and the Lord hardened Pharaoh’s heart, so that he would not let the children of Israel go out of his land.
