1	야곱 집안이 이집트로 옮겨 가다 이스라엘은 자신에게 있는 것을 모두 챙겨 길을 나섰다. 브엘세바에 다다르자, 짐승을 잡아 아버지 이삭의 하나님께 제물로 바쳤다.	And Israel took his journey with all that he had, and came to Beer–sheba, and offered sacrifices unto the God of his father Isaac.
2	그날 밤에 환상 속에서 하나님이 이스라엘에게 말씀하셨다. 하나님이 부르셨다. “야곱아, 야곱아!” 야곱이 대답했다. “저, 여기 있습니다.”	And God spake unto Israel in the visions of the night, and said, Jacob, Jacob. And he said, Here am I.
3	하나님이 말씀하셨다. “나는 하나님이다. 네 아버지의 하나님이지. 이집트로 내려가는 것을 두려워하지 마라. 내가 거기서 너를 큰 민족으로 만들 것이다.	And he said, I am God, the God of thy father: fear not to go down into Egypt; for I will there make of thee a great nation:
4	내가 직접 너와 함께 이집트로 내려가마. 또 너를 데리고 올라오기도 하마. 요셉이 손으로 너의 눈을 감겨 줄 것이다.”	I will go down with thee into Egypt; and I will also surely bring thee up again: and Joseph shall put his hand upon thine eyes.
5	야곱은 일어나 브엘세바를 떠났다. 이스라엘의 아들들은 아버지 야곱과 그들의 어린아이들과 아내들을 수레 여러 대에 태웠다. 그들을 태우도록 파라오가 보내 준 수레였다.	And Jacob rose up from Beer–sheba: and the sons of Israel carried Jacob their father, and their little ones, and their wives, in the wagons which Pharaoh had sent to carry him.
6	짐승들도 끌고 가고 가나안 땅에서 모은 재산도 가져갔다. 야곱과 또 그와 함께 살던 후손은 모두 이집트로 옮겨 갔다.	And they took their cattle, and their goods, which they had gotten in the land of Canaan, and came into Egypt, Jacob, and all his seed with him:
7	이렇게 야곱은 자기와 함께 살던 아들딸 손자 손녀, 곧 후손을 모두 이집트로 데려갔다.	His sons, and his sons’ sons with him, his daughters, and his sons’ daughters, and all his seed brought he with him into Egypt.
8	이집트로 옮겨 간 사람들의 이름과 수 이집트로 옮겨 간 이스라엘 사람들, 곧 야곱과 그 자손들의 이름은 이러하다. 야곱의 맏아들은 르우벤이다.	And these are the names of the children of Israel, which came into Egypt, Jacob and his sons: Reuben, Jacob’s firstborn.
9	르우벤의 아들은 하녹, 발루, 헤스론, 갈미이다.	And the sons of Reuben; Hanoch, and Phallu, and Hezron, and Carmi.
10	시므온의 아들은 여무엘, 야민, 오핫, 야긴, 소할, 사울이다. 사울은 가나안 여자의 아들이다.	And the sons of Simeon; Jemuel, and Jamin, and Ohad, and Jachin, and Zohar, and Shaul the son of a Canaanitish woman.
11	레위의 아들은 게르손, 그핫, 므라리이다.	And the sons of Levi; Gershon, Kohath, and Merari.
12	유다의 아들은 에르, 오난, 셀라, 베레스, 세라흐이다. 에르와 오난은 가나안 땅에서 죽었다. 베레스의 아들은 헤스론과 하물이다.	And the sons of Judah; Er, and Onan, and Shelah, and Pharez, and Zerah: but Er and Onan died in the land of Canaan. And the sons of Pharez were Hezron and Hamul.
13	잇사갈의 아들은 돌라, 부와, 욥, 시므론이다.	And the sons of Issachar; Tola, and Phuvah, and Job, and Shimron.
14	스불론의 아들은 세렛, 엘론, 야흘르엘이다.	And the sons of Zebulun; Sered, and Elon, and Jahleel.
15	이들은 레아의 남자 자손이다. 레아가 밧단아람에서 야곱에게 낳아 준 자손이다. 야곱의 딸 디나도 레아가 낳았다. 야곱과 레아의 남녀 후손은 모두 33명이다.	These be the sons of Leah, which she bare unto Jacob in Padan–aram, with his daughter Dinah: all the souls of his sons and his daughters were thirty and three.
16	갓의 아들은 시뵨, 학기, 수니, 에스본, 에리, 아로디, 아렐리이다.	And the sons of Gad; Ziphion, and Haggi, Shuni, and Ezbon, Eri, and Arodi, and Areli.
17	아셀의 아들은 임나, 이스와, 이스위, 브리아이다. 세라흐는 그들의 누이다. 브리아의 아들은 헤벨, 말기엘이다.	And the sons of Asher; Jimnah, and Ishuah, and Isui, and Beriah, and Serah their sister: and the sons of Beriah; Heber, and Malchiel.
18	이들은 실바의 자손이다. 실바는 라반이 자신의 딸 레아에게 여자 노예로 준 사람이다. 실바는 야곱에게 이들 16명을 낳아 주었다.	These are the sons of Zilpah, whom Laban gave to Leah his daughter, and these she bare unto Jacob, even sixteen souls.
19	야곱의 아내 라헬의 아들은 요셉과 베냐민이다.	The sons of Rachel Jacob’s wife; Joseph, and Benjamin.
20	요셉에게는 이집트 땅에서 므낫세와 에브라임이 태어났다. 이들을 헬리오폴리스의 제사장 보디베라의 딸 아스낫이 요셉에게 낳아 주었다.	And unto Joseph in the land of Egypt were born Manasseh and Ephraim, which Asenath the daughter of Poti–pherah priest of On bare unto him.
21	베냐민의 아들은 벨라, 베겔, 아스벨, 게라, 나아만, 에히, 로스, 뭅빔, 훕빔, 아릇이다.	And the sons of Benjamin were Belah, and Becher, and Ashbel, Gera, and Naaman, Ehi, and Rosh, Muppim, and Huppim, and Ard.
22	이들은 라헬의 자손으로 야곱에게 태어난 사람들이다. 모두 14명이다.	These are the sons of Rachel, which were born to Jacob: all the souls were fourteen.
23	단의 아들은 후심이다.	And the sons of Dan; Hushim.
24	납달리의 아들은 야흐스엘, 구니, 예셀, 실렘이다.	And the sons of Naphtali; Jahzeel, and Guni, and Jezer, and Shillem.
25	이들은 빌하의 자손이다. 빌하는 라반이 자신의 딸 라헬에게 여자 노예로 준 사람이다. 빌하는 이들을 야곱에게 낳아 주었다. 모두 7명이다.	These are the sons of Bilhah, which Laban gave unto Rachel his daughter, and she bare these unto Jacob: all the souls were seven.
26	야곱을 따라 이집트로 옮겨 간 사람들을, 야곱의 몸에서 나온 사람만 헤아리고 야곱의 며느리들을 빼면, 모두 66명이다.	All the souls that came with Jacob into Egypt, which came out of his loins, besides Jacob’s sons’ wives, all the souls were threescore and six;
27	이집트에서 요셉에게 태어난 아들은 2명이다. 이집트로 옮겨 간 야곱 집안의 사람은 모두 70명이다.	And the sons of Joseph, which were born him in Egypt, were two souls: all the souls of the house of Jacob, which came into Egypt, were threescore and ten.
28	야곱 집안이 고센 땅에 자리 잡다 야곱은 유다를 자신보다 앞서 요셉에게 보내어 자기를 고센으로 안내하게 했다. 그래서 그들은 고센 땅으로 갔다.	And he sent Judah before him unto Joseph, to direct his face unto Goshen; and they came into the land of Goshen.
29	요셉은 말에 수레를 메우고 아버지 이스라엘을 만나러 고센으로 올라갔다. 그는 아버지 앞에 모습을 드러내고는 아버지의 목을 껴안았다. 목을 안은 채 한참 울었다.	And Joseph made ready his chariot, and went up to meet Israel his father, to Goshen, and presented himself unto him; and he fell on his neck, and wept on his neck a good while.
30	이스라엘이 요셉에게 말했다. “너의 얼굴을 보았으니 이제 나는 죽어도 괜찮다. 네가 이렇게 살아 있다니!”	And Israel said unto Joseph, Now let me die, since I have seen thy face, because thou art yet alive.
31	요셉이 형들에게 또 아버지의 집안사람들에게 말했다. “제가 올라가서 파라오께 알려 드리겠습니다. 이렇게 말씀드리려고요. ‘가나안 땅에 살던 형제들과 아버지의 집안사람들이 저한테 왔습니다.	And Joseph said unto his brethren, and unto his father’s house, I will go up, and shew Pharaoh, and say unto him, My brethren, and my father’s house, which were in the land of Canaan, are come unto me;
32	그 사람들은 양 떼를 먹이는 사람들입니다. 짐승을 키우는 사람들이라 양 떼와 소 떼, 또 그들에게 있는 모든 것을 이끌고 왔습니다.’	And the men are shepherds, for their trade hath been to feed cattle; and they have brought their flocks, and their herds, and all that they have.
33	그러면 파라오가 여러분을 불러들여 ‘그대들이 하는 일이 무엇이오?’ 하고 물을 겁니다.	And it shall come to pass, when Pharaoh shall call you, and shall say, What is your occupation?
34	그러면 이렇게 대답하세요. ‘폐하의 종들인 저희는 어릴 적부터 지금까지 짐승을 키워 온 사람들입니다. 저희 조상들처럼 저희도 그렇습니다.’ 그렇게 대답하셔야 고센 땅에 살 수 있습니다. 이집트 사람들은 양 떼를 먹이는 사람이라면 누구라도 역겨워하니까요.”	That ye shall say, Thy servants’ trade hath been about cattle from our youth even until now, both we, and also our fathers: that ye may dwell in the land of Goshen; for every shepherd is an abomination unto the Egyptians.
