절	새한글성경 (2024)	King James Version
1	지혜를 찾아서 “그래! 은은 캐는 곳 있고, 금은 찌꺼기 없애는 곳 있지.	Surely there is a vein for the silver, and a place for gold where they fine it.
2	쇠는 흙에서 얻어 내고, 돌에서는 구리를 녹여 내지.	Iron is taken out of the earth, and brass is molten out of the stone.
3	어둠 몰아내고, 구석구석 샅샅이 뒤진다네, 깜깜하고 캄캄한 데 있는 돌을.	He setteth an end to darkness, and searcheth out all perfection: the stones of darkness, and the shadow of death.
4	사는 곳에서 외떨어진 데 아래로 구덩이를 팠네. 발길 닿지 않아 잊혔다네. 사람 없는 데서 매달려 흔들거리네.	The flood breaketh out from the inhabitant; even the waters forgotten of the foot: they are dried up, they are gone away from men.
5	땅에선 먹을 것 나오지만, 땅속은 마치 불처럼 뒤엎어지네.	As for the earth, out of it cometh bread: and under it is turned up as it were fire.
6	사파이어가 그 땅의 돌에 있고, 금가루도 거기 있다네.	The stones of it are the place of sapphires: and it hath dust of gold.
7	그리로 가는 길 사나운 새도 모르고, 매의 눈도 본 적 없네.	There is a path which no fowl knoweth, and which the vulture’s eye hath not seen:
8	우쭐대는 짐승들도 밟은 적 없고, 사자도 그리로 지나간 적 없네.	The lion’s whelps have not trodden it, nor the fierce lion passed by it.
9	단단한 바위에 손을 대고, 산들을 뿌리째 뒤엎었지.	He putteth forth his hand upon the rock; he overturneth the mountains by the roots.
10	바윗덩이 쪼개어 틈을 내고, 온갖 귀한 것을 눈으로 보았지.	He cutteth out rivers among the rocks; and his eye seeth every precious thing.
11	강물 나오는 곳 틀어막고, 숨겨진 것 빛 가운데로 끌어낸다네.	He bindeth the floods from overflowing; and the thing that is hid bringeth he forth to light.
12	그럼 지혜는 어디서 찾을 수 있나? 깨달음의 자리는 도대체 어디인가?	But where shall wisdom be found? and where is the place of understanding?
13	인간은 그 값어치를 모르네. 산 사람들의 땅에서는 보이지 않지.	Man knoweth not the price thereof; neither is it found in the land of the living.
14	깊은 물이 말했네. ‘내 안에 없어, 그건.’ 바다가 말했네. ‘나한테 없어.’	The depth saith, It is not in me: and the sea saith, It is not with me.
15	순금을 주고도 살 수 없고, 은을 달아도 그 값 치를 수 없네.	It cannot be gotten for gold, neither shall silver be weighed for the price thereof.
16	오피르의 금으로도 값어치 못 매기네, 값비싼 홍옥수나 사파이어로도.	It cannot be valued with the gold of Ophir, with the precious onyx, or the sapphire.
17	금과 유리도 그것과 견줄 수 없고, 순금 그릇과도 맞바꿀 수 없네.	The gold and the crystal cannot equal it: and the exchange of it shall not be for jewels of fine gold.
18	산호나 수정은 생각도 안 날 거야. 지혜의 값은 진주보다 비싸다네.	No mention shall be made of coral, or of pearls: for the price of wisdom is above rubies.
19	에티오피아 토파즈와도 견줄 수 없고, 순도 높은 금으로도 값어치 못 매기네.	The topaz of Ethiopia shall not equal it, neither shall it be valued with pure gold.
20	그럼 지혜는 어디에서 오는가? 깨달음의 자리는 도대체 어디인가?	Whence then cometh wisdom? and where is the place of understanding?
21	어떤 생물의 눈에도 띄지 않고, 하늘 나는 새들도 찾지 못한다네.	Seeing it is hid from the eyes of all living, and kept close from the fowls of the air.
22	멸망과 죽음이 말했네. ‘우리 귀로 그것에 관한 소문은 들었지.’	Destruction and death say, We have heard the fame thereof with our ears.
23	하나님은 알고 계시네, 지혜로 가는 길을. 그분은 아시네, 그것이 있는 곳을.	God understandeth the way thereof, and he knoweth the place thereof.
24	바로 그분이 땅끝까지 살피시니까, 온 하늘 아래로 내려다보시니까.	For he looketh to the ends of the earth, and seeth under the whole heaven;
25	바람은 무게를 달아 보시고, 물은 되로 재 보시네.	To make the weight for the winds; and he weigheth the waters by measure.
26	비에게 규정을 만들어 주시고, 천둥 번개에게 길을 만들어 주신 때였어.	When he made a decree for the rain, and a way for the lightning of the thunder:
27	그때 지혜를 보시고 알리셨네. 굳게 세우시고 살피기도 하셨네.	Then did he see it, and declare it; he prepared it, yea, and searched it out.
28	그러고는 사람에게 말씀하셨지. ‘보아라! 주님을 두려워하는 것, 그것이 지혜다. 나쁜 일에서 떠나는 것이 깨달음이다!’”	And unto man he said, Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding.
