절	새한글성경 (2024)	King James Version
1	자기소개와 인사 장로입니다. 하나님이 선택하신 여주인과 그 자녀들에게 이 편지를 보냅니다. 나는, 여러분을 진리 안에서 사랑합니다. 나뿐만 아니라 진리를 알아차린 모든 사람들도 여러분을 사랑합니다.	The elder unto the elect lady and her children, whom I love in the truth; and not I only, but also all they that have known the truth;
2	진리 때문이지요. 그 진리는 우리 가운데 머물러 있으며, 우리와 함께 영원히 있을 것입니다.	For the truth’s sake, which dwelleth in us, and shall be with us for ever.
3	은혜, 자비, 평화가 진리와 사랑 안에서 하나님 아버지와 또 예수 그리스도, 곧 아버지의 아들로부터 내려서 우리와 함께 있을 것입니다.	Grace be with you, mercy, and peace, from God the Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father, in truth and love.
4	진리와 사랑과 계명 나는 무척 기뻐했습니다. 그대의 자녀들 가운데 진리 안에서 걸어가는 사람들을 발견했기 때문입니다. 우리가 아버지한테서 받은 계명대로 말입니다.	I rejoiced greatly that I found of thy children walking in truth, as we have received a commandment from the Father.
5	여주인님! 이제 내가 그대에게 부탁합니다. 내가 그대에게 새 계명을 써 보내듯이 하는 것이 아닙니다. 우리가 처음부터 가지고 있던 그 계명을 부탁하는 것입니다. 그것은 우리가 서로 사랑해야 한다는 것입니다.	And now I beseech thee, lady, not as though I wrote a new commandment unto thee, but that which we had from the beginning, that we love one another.
6	이것이 그 사랑입니다. 우리가 그분의 계명들에 따라 걸어가는 것입니다. 이것이 그 계명입니다. 여러분이 처음부터 들은 대로 그 안에서 걸어가야 한다는 것입니다.	And this is love, that we walk after his commandments. This is the commandment, That, as ye have heard from the beginning, ye should walk in it.
7	속여 헤매게 하는 사람들을 조심하라 속여 헤매게 하는 사람들이 많이 세상에 나왔기 때문입니다. 그들은 예수 그리스도께서 육신을 입고 오신 것을 인정하지 않습니다. 이런 사람은 속여 헤매게 하는 사람이고 그리스도를 대적하는 자입니다.	For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.
8	여러분은 스스로 조심들 하셔서, 우리가 일해 놓은 것을 망치지 말고 보상을 충분히 받도록 하십시오.	Look to yourselves, that we lose not those things which we have wrought, but that we receive a full reward.
9	앞으로 너무 나가서 그리스도의 가르침 안에 머물러 있지 않는 사람은, 누구든지 다 하나님을 모시고 있지 않는 것입니다. 그러나 그 가르침 안에 머물러 있는 사람, 이 사람은 아버지와 아들을 모두 모시고 있는 것입니다.	Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son.
10	어떤 사람이 여러분한테 와서 이 가르침을 전달하지 않는다면, 그를 집 안으로 맞아들이지 마십시오. 그에게는 안녕하시냐고 인사도 하지 마십시오.	If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed:
11	안녕하시냐고 그에게 인사를 건네는 사람은 그의 악한 일들에 동참하는 것이기 때문입니다.	For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds.
12	끝맺는 말과 인사 여러분에게 쓸 말이 많이 있지만, 종이와 잉크로 써 보내고 싶지는 않습니다. 내가 희망하는 것은 여러분한테 가서 함께 있어, 얼굴과 얼굴을 마주하며 말하는 것입니다. 우리의 기쁨이 가득하게 되도록 하는 것입니다.	Having many things to write unto you, I would not write with paper and ink: but I trust to come unto you, and speak face to face, that our joy may be full.
13	그대의 자매, 곧 하나님께 선택된 자매의 자녀들이 그대에게 안부를 전합니다.	The children of thy elect sister greet thee. Amen.
