1	바다에서 올라온 첫 번째 짐승 또 나는 보았습니다. 바다에서 짐승이 하나 올라오고 있었습니다. 그 짐승에게는 뿔이 열 개, 머리가 일곱 개 있었습니다. 그 짐승의 뿔들 위에는 열 개의 왕관이 있었습니다. 그 머리들 위에는 하나님을 모독하는 이름들이 있었습니다.	And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy.
2	내가 본 짐승은 표범을 닮았습니다. 그의 발은 곰 같았고, 그의 입은 사자의 입 같았습니다. 그 짐승에게 그 용이 자기의 능력과 자기의 임금자리와 큰 지배 권한을 주었습니다.	And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority.
3	그런데 그 짐승의 머리들 가운데 하나는 심각한 상처를 입어 죽음을 앞두고 있었습니다. 그런데 그 짐승이 입은 죽음의 상처가 나았습니다. 그러자 온 땅이 놀라서 그 짐승의 뒤를 따랐습니다.	And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast.
4	사람들이 그 용에게 엎드려 절했습니다. 용이 그 짐승에게 지배 권한을 주었기 때문입니다. 또 사람들이 그 짐승에게도 엎드려 절했습니다. 그러면서 말했습니다. “누가 그 짐승과 같은가요? 누가 그 짐승과 맞붙어 전쟁할 수 있나요?”	And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him?
5	또 그 짐승에게는 거만하게 하나님을 모독하는 말을 하는 입이 주어졌습니다. 그리고 그 짐승에게는 42개월 동안 휘두를 수 있는 지배 권한도 주어졌습니다.	And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months.
6	그래서 그 짐승이 자기의 입을 열어 하나님을 모독했습니다. 하나님에게 맞서 하나님의 이름과 하나님의 거처를, 하늘에 거처를 둔 이들을 모독했습니다.	And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven.
7	또 그 짐승에게는 성도들과 맞붙어 전쟁하여 그들을 이길 허락이 주어졌습니다. 모든 종족과 백성과 언어와 민족에 대한 지배 권한도 그 짐승에게 주어졌습니다.	And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations.
8	그래서 땅 위에 자리 잡고 사는 사람들이 모두 그 짐승에게 엎드려 절할 것입니다. 세상의 기초가 놓일 때부터 자기들의 이름이, 끔찍하게 죽임당한 어린양의 생명책에 적혀 있지 않은 사람들이 말입니다.	And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.
9	귀 있는 사람이라면 들으십시오.	If any man have an ear, let him hear.
10	포로로 끌려갈 사람이라면 포로로 끌려갈 것입니다. 칼에 죽임당할 사람이라면 그는 칼에 죽임당할 것입니다. 이런 때에 성도들의 버티어 견딤과 믿음이 요구됩니다.	He that leadeth into captivity shall go into captivity: he that killeth with the sword must be killed with the sword. Here is the patience and the faith of the saints.
11	땅에서 올라온 다른 짐승 또 나는 보았습니다. 다른 짐승이 하나 땅에서 올라오고 있었습니다. 그 짐승은 어린양처럼 뿔을 두 개 가지고 있었고, 용처럼 말을 해 댔습니다.	And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon.
12	그리고 첫 번째 짐승의 지배 권한을 전부 그 첫 번째 짐승 앞에서 휘두릅니다. 그렇게 하는 것은 땅과 땅에 자리 잡고 사는 사람들이 첫 번째 짐승에게 엎드려 절하도록 부추기기 위해서입니다. 죽음의 상처가 나았던 그 첫 번째 짐승에게 말입니다.	And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed.
13	그 짐승은 징표가 되는 큰 기적들을 해 보입니다. 곧 사람들 앞에서 불이 하늘에서 땅으로 내려오게도 합니다.	And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men,
14	그리고 그는 그 징표들을 통해서, 땅 위에 자리 잡고 사는 사람들을 속여 헤매게 합니다. 그 징표들은 첫 번째 짐승 앞에서 해 보이도록 허락이 된 것들입니다. 그 짐승은 땅 위에 자리 잡고 사는 사람들에게 첫 번째 짐승을 위해 형상을 만들라고 말합니다. 칼의 재앙을 당하고도 살아난 첫 번째 짐승을 위해서요.	And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live.
15	그 짐승에게 첫 번째 짐승의 형상에 숨을 불어 넣어 주어도 된다는 허락이 내려졌습니다. 그리하여 그 둘째 짐승은 첫 번째 짐승의 형상이 말을 하게 했습니다. 또 누구든 첫 번째 짐승의 형상에 엎드려 절하지 않는 사람들은 죽임을 당하게도 했습니다.	And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.
16	그리고 모든 사람들한테 오른쪽 손이나 이마에 표를 새겨 넣게 합니다. 보잘것없는 사람이나 대단한 사람, 부유한 사람이나 가난한 사람, 자유로운 사람이나 노예들 모두한테 말입니다.	And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:
17	그리하여 그 짐승의 이름이나 그 이름의 수를 표로 가진 사람 말고는 누구도 사거나 팔 수 없게 합니다.	And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.
18	이런 때에 지혜가 요구됩니다. 정신 차린 사람은 그 짐승이 나타내는 숫자를 헤아려 보십시오. 그것은 사람의 숫자이기 때문입니다. 그것의 숫자는 666입니다.	Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.
