1	예루살렘이 함락되다 시드기야가 유다 임금이던 아홉째 해 열째 달이었다. 바빌론 임금 네부카드네자르가 자신의 군대를 모두 거느리고 예루살렘으로 쳐들어왔다. 그들이 예루살렘을 에워쌌다.	In the ninth year of Zedekiah king of Judah, in the tenth month, came Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon and all his army against Jerusalem, and they besieged it.
2	시드기야 열한째 해 넷째 달 아홉째 날에 그 도시를 빼앗겼다.	And in the eleventh year of Zedekiah, in the fourth month, the ninth day of the month, the city was broken up.
3	바빌론 임금의 모든 고위 관리가 와서 가운데 성문에 자리를 잡았다. 네르갈사레셀, 삼갈느부, 살스김 왕궁 수석 관리, 네르갈사레셀 장군과 바빌론 임금의 나머지 모든 고위 관리들이 왔다.	And all the princes of the king of Babylon came in, and sat in the middle gate, even Nergal–sharezer, Samgar–nebo, Sarsechim, Rab–saris, Nergal–sharezer, Rab–mag, with all the residue of the princes of the king of Babylon.
4	유다 임금 시드기야와 그의 모든 군인들이 그들을 보았을 때 일어난 일이다. 그들은 달아났다. 밤에 임금의 동산 길로 그 도시에서 나갔다. 양쪽 성벽 사이의 성문으로 빠져나갔다. 그러고는 아라바 길로 나갔다.	And it came to pass, that when Zedekiah the king of Judah saw them, and all the men of war, then they fled, and went forth out of the city by night, by the way of the king’s garden, by the gate betwixt the two walls: and he went out the way of the plain.
5	칼데아 군대가 그들을 뒤쫓아 갔고, 시드기야를 여리고 들판에서 따라잡았다. 그를 붙잡아 바빌론 임금 네부카드네자르에게로 데리고 올라갔다. 하맛 땅의 리블라로 간 것이다. 네부카드네자르가 시드기야에게 판결을 내렸다.	But the Chaldeans’ army pursued after them, and overtook Zedekiah in the plains of Jericho: and when they had taken him, they brought him up to Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon to Riblah in the land of Hamath, where he gave judgment upon him.
6	그러고는 바빌론 임금이 리블라에서 시드기야의 아들들을 그의 눈앞에서 도살했다. 유다의 모든 귀족도 바빌론 임금이 도살했다.	Then the king of Babylon slew the sons of Zedekiah in Riblah before his eyes: also the king of Babylon slew all the nobles of Judah.
7	또 시드기야의 두 눈을 멀게 하고, 그를 놋사슬로 묶어서 바빌론으로 데려갔다.	Moreover he put out Zedekiah’s eyes, and bound him with chains, to carry him to Babylon.
8	왕궁과 민가를 칼데아 사람들이 불로 태우고 예루살렘 성벽들을 헐어 버렸다.	And the Chaldeans burned the king’s house, and the houses of the people, with fire, and brake down the walls of Jerusalem.
9	도시 안에 남은 백성과 네부카드네자르에게 넘어간 사람들과 나머지 남은 백성이 있었다. 이들을 느부사라단 호위대장이 바빌론으로 사로잡아 갔다.	Then Nebuzar–adan the captain of the guard carried away captive into Babylon the remnant of the people that remained in the city, and those that fell away, that fell to him, with the rest of the people that remained.
10	아무것도 가진 것이 없는 가난한 백성 가운데 일부를 느부사라단 호위대장이 유다 땅에 남겨 두었다. 그날 그들에게 포도밭과 농사지을 땅을 주었다.	But Nebuzar–adan the captain of the guard left of the poor of the people, which had nothing, in the land of Judah, and gave them vineyards and fields at the same time.
11	예레미야가 풀려나다 바빌론 임금 네부카드네자르가 예레미야에 관한 일을 느부사라단 호위대장 손에 맡기면서 명령했다.	Now Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon gave charge concerning Jeremiah to Nebuzar–adan the captain of the guard, saying,
12	“대장이 그를 데리고 가시오. 대장의 눈길을 그에게 두고 보살피시오. 어떤 해로운 일도 그에게 하지 마시오. 그가 대장에게 말하는 대로 해 주시오.”	Take him, and look well to him, and do him no harm; but do unto him even as he shall say unto thee.
13	그래서 느부사라단 호위대장이 사람을 보냈다. 느부사스반 왕궁 수석 관리와 네르갈사레셀 장군과 바빌론 임금의 모든 높은 관리들도 함께했다.	So Nebuzar–adan the captain of the guard sent, and Nebushasban, Rab–saris, and Nergal–sharezer, Rab–mag, and all the king of Babylon’s princes;
14	그들이 사람을 보내 예레미야를 경비대 뜰에서 데려왔다. 그러고는 아히감의 아들이자 사반의 손자인 그달랴에게 넘겨주어 집으로 데리고 가게 했다. 그래서 예레미야가 백성 가운데 머물렀다.	Even they sent, and took Jeremiah out of the court of the prison, and committed him unto Gedaliah the son of Ahikam the son of Shaphan, that he should carry him home: so he dwelt among the people.
15	에벳멜렉을 구해 주리라 예레미야에게 여호와의 말씀이 내려오는 일이 일어났다. 예레미야가 경비대 뜰에 갇혀 있을 때였다.	Now the word of the Lord came unto Jeremiah, while he was shut up in the court of the prison, saying,
16	(하나님) “너는 에티오피아 사람 에벳멜렉에게 가서 말해 주어라. (예언자) ‘전능하신 여호와 이스라엘의 하나님이 이렇게 말씀하셨습니다. (하나님) 「보라, 이 도시를 두고 내가 한 말이 이루어지게 하겠다. 재난을 말한 것이지 구원을 말한 것이 아니다. 너의 앞에서 그런 일이 그날에 일어날 것이다.	Go and speak to Ebed–melech the Ethiopian, saying, Thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel; Behold, I will bring my words upon this city for evil, and not for good; and they shall be accomplished in that day before thee.
17	그렇지만 내가 너를 그날에 건져 내 주겠다. ― 여호와의 말씀입니다. ― 그래서 너는 네가 두려워하는 사람들 손에 넘겨지지 않을 것이다.	But I will deliver thee in that day, saith the Lord: and thou shalt not be given into the hand of the men of whom thou art afraid.
18	내가 너를 반드시 구해 주겠다. 네가 칼에 쓰러지는 일은 없을 것이다. 너에게는 너의 목숨이 전쟁에서 빼앗은 물건처럼 될 것이다. 네가 나를 의지했기 때문이다. ― 여호와의 말씀입니다. ―」’”	For I will surely deliver thee, and thou shalt not fall by the sword, but thy life shall be for a prey unto thee: because thou hast put thy trust in me, saith the Lord.
