1	언약을 깨뜨린 백성 여호와께로부터 예레미야에게 내려온 말씀.	The word that came to Jeremiah from the Lord, saying,
2	(하나님) “너희는 이 언약의 말씀들을 들어라. 그러고는 유다 사람과 예루살렘에 사는 사람들에게 일러 주도록 해라.	Hear ye the words of this covenant, and speak unto the men of Judah, and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem;
3	너는 그들에게 말해 주어야 한다. (예언자) ‘여호와 이스라엘의 하나님이 이렇게 말씀하셨습니다. (하나님) 「저주받을 것이다, 이 언약의 말들을 듣지 않는 사람은!	And say thou unto them, Thus saith the Lord God of Israel; Cursed be the man that obeyeth not the words of this covenant,
4	그 말들은 내가 너희 조상들을 이집트 땅, 쇠 녹임가마에서 이끌어 내던 날에 그들에게 명령한 것이다. 그들에게 이렇게 말했다. 『너희는 나의 목소리를 듣고 내가 너희에게 명령한 그대로 그 말들을 따라라. 그러면 너희가 나에게 백성이 되고 나야말로 너희에게 하나님이 될 것이다.	Which I commanded your fathers in the day that I brought them forth out of the land of Egypt, from the iron furnace, saying, Obey my voice, and do them, according to all which I command you: so shall ye be my people, and I will be your God:
5	내가 너희 조상들에게 굳게 약속한 것을 이루어서 그들에게 오늘처럼 젖이 흐르고 꿀이 있는 땅을 주려고 한 것이다.』」’” (예언자) 그래서 내가 그 말씀을 받아 대답했습니다. “아멘, 여호와여!”	That I may perform the oath which I have sworn unto your fathers, to give them a land flowing with milk and honey, as it is this day. Then answered I, and said, So be it, O Lord.
6	여호와께서 또 내게 말씀하셨습니다. (하나님) “너는 이 모든 말들을 외쳐라, 유다의 도시들과 예루살렘 거리에서! (예언자) ‘여러분은 들으세요, 이 언약의 말씀들을. 그리고 그 말씀들을 따르세요!	Then the Lord said unto me, Proclaim all these words in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem, saying, Hear ye the words of this covenant, and do them.
7	(하나님) 「내가 너희 조상들에게 아주 단단히 타일렀다. 내가 그들을 이집트 땅에서 올라오게 하던 날부터 오늘까지 거듭거듭 단단히 타일렀다, 나의 목소리를 들으라고.	For I earnestly protested unto your fathers in the day that I brought them up out of the land of Egypt, even unto this day, rising early and protesting, saying, Obey my voice.
8	그런데도 그들은 듣지 않고 귀 기울이지 않았다. 저마다 나쁜 마음의 고집대로 살았다. 그래서 내가 그들에게 이 언약의 말들이 다 이루어지게 했다. 이 언약의 말들을 따르라고 내가 명령했는데도 그들이 따르지 않았던 것이다.」’”	Yet they obeyed not, nor inclined their ear, but walked every one in the imagination of their evil heart: therefore I will bring upon them all the words of this covenant, which I commanded them to do; but they did them not.
9	(예언자) 여호와께서 또 내게 말씀하셨습니다. (하나님) “유다 사람과 예루살렘 주민들 가운데서 반역이 들통났구나.	And the Lord said unto me, A conspiracy is found among the men of Judah, and among the inhabitants of Jerusalem.
10	나의 말 듣기를 거부한 옛 조상들의 잘못으로 그들이 돌아갔구나. 그들이 직접 다른 신들을 뒤따라가서 섬겼구나. 이스라엘 집안과 유다 집안이 내가 그들의 조상들과 맺은 내 언약을 깨뜨렸구나.”	They are turned back to the iniquities of their forefathers, which refused to hear my words; and they went after other gods to serve them: the house of Israel and the house of Judah have broken my covenant which I made with their fathers.
11	(예언자) 이러므로 여호와께서 이렇게 말씀하셨습니다. (하나님) “내가 그들에게 재난이 닥치게 하겠다. 그 재난에서 그들이 빠져나올 수 없을 것이다. 그들이 도와 달라고 내게 소리쳐도 내가 그들의 소리를 듣지 않겠다.	Therefore thus saith the Lord, Behold, I will bring evil upon them, which they shall not be able to escape; and though they shall cry unto me, I will not hearken unto them.
12	그러면 유다의 도시들과 예루살렘에 사는 사람들은 자신들이 향을 피워 바치던 신들에게 가서 도와 달라고 부르짖을 것이다. 그렇지만 그들이 재난을 겪을 때 그 신들이 그들에게 아무런 도움이 되지 못할 것이다.	Then shall the cities of Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem go, and cry unto the gods unto whom they offer incense: but they shall not save them at all in the time of their trouble.
13	참으로 너의 도시들의 수만큼 너의 신들이 있구나, 유다야! 창피한 신을 위해 네가 제단을 예루살렘 거리의 수만큼 만들었구나. 그렇게 바알에게 향을 피워 바쳤구나.	For according to the number of thy cities were thy gods, O Judah; and according to the number of the streets of Jerusalem have ye set up altars to that shameful thing, even altars to burn incense unto Baal.
14	너 예레미야는 이 백성을 위해 기도하지 마라! 그들을 위해 탄원 기도를 올리지 마라! 그들에게 닥친 재난 때문에 그들이 내게 부르짖을 때, 내가 듣지 않을 것이기 때문이다.”	Therefore pray not thou for this people, neither lift up a cry or prayer for them: for I will not hear them in the time that they cry unto me for their trouble.
15	악한 짓을 저지른 백성 (하나님) “이 무슨 일이냐? 내 사랑하는 백성이 내 집에서 악한 계획을 수없이 실행하다니! 거룩한 살코기를 사람들이 너 예루살렘에서부터 가져가 버릴 것이다. 네가 악한 짓을 저질렀고 그때 네가 기뻐했기 때문이다.	What hath my beloved to do in mine house, seeing she hath wrought lewdness with many, and the holy flesh is passed from thee? when thou doest evil, then thou rejoicest.
16	‘울창하고 아름답고 멋진 열매 맺는 올리브나무’라고 여호와가 너의 이름을 지어 불렀다. 그러나 큰 무리가 소리 지르자 여호와가 불을 그 나무에 붙였구나. 그 가지들이 어려움을 겪을 것이다.”	The Lord called thy name, A green olive tree, fair, and of goodly fruit: with the noise of a great tumult he hath kindled fire upon it, and the branches of it are broken.
17	(예언자) 전능하신 여호와가 그대 예루살렘을 심으신 하나님이십니다. 여호와께서 그대를 두고 재난을 말씀하셨습니다. “이스라엘 집안과 유다 집안이 저지른 악한 짓 때문이야. 그들이 바알에게 향을 피워 바쳐 나를 노엽게 했지.”	For the Lord of hosts, that planted thee, hath pronounced evil against thee, for the evil of the house of Israel and of the house of Judah, which they have done against themselves to provoke me to anger in offering incense unto Baal.
18	예언자의 탄원과 하나님의 대답 (예언자) 여호와께서 나에게 알려 주셔서 내가 알았습니다. 그때 주님이 나에게 그들의 행동을 보여 주셨습니다.	And the Lord hath given me knowledge of it, and I know it: then thou shewedst me their doings.
19	나는 순순히 도살당하러 끌려가는 어린양 같았습니다. 나는 알지 못했습니다, 나를 해치려고 그들이 계략을 짠 것을! “나무가 싱싱하지만 함께 망가뜨리자. 그를 산 사람들의 땅에서 없애 버리자. 그의 이름을 사람들이 더는 기억하지 못하게 하자.”	But I was like a lamb or an ox that is brought to the slaughter; and I knew not that they had devised devices against me, saying, Let us destroy the tree with the fruit thereof, and let us cut him off from the land of the living, that his name may be no more remembered.
20	그렇지만, 전능하신 여호와 공의로우신 재판관님, 사람의 생각과 마음을 검증해 보시는 하나님! 나는 보고 싶습니다, 주님이 그들에게 앙갚음하시는 것을. 내가 다툴 문제를 주님께 맡겼기 때문입니다.	But, O Lord of hosts, that judgest righteously, that triest the reins and the heart, let me see thy vengeance on them: for unto thee have I revealed my cause.
21	이러므로 여호와께서 이렇게 말씀하셨습니다. 아나돗 사람들을 두고서 말씀하셨습니다. (하나님) “너의 목숨을 노리고 사람들이 이렇게 말한다. ‘여호와의 이름으로 예언하지 마라! 계속 그러다가는 우리 손에 죽을 것이다.’”	Therefore thus saith the Lord of the men of Anathoth, that seek thy life, saying, Prophesy not in the name of the Lord, that thou die not by our hand:
22	(예언자) 이러므로 전능하신 여호와께서 이렇게 말씀하셨습니다. (하나님) “보라, 내가 그들에게 벌을 내리겠다. 젊은이들은 칼에 맞아 죽을 것이고, 그들의 아들들과 딸들은 굶주림으로 죽을 것이다.	Therefore thus saith the Lord of hosts, Behold, I will punish them: the young men shall die by the sword; their sons and their daughters shall die by famine:
23	그들 가운데 남은 사람은 없을 것이다. 내가 아나돗 사람들에게 재난이 닥치게 할 것이기 때문이다, 그들을 벌하는 날에!”	And there shall be no remnant of them: for I will bring evil upon the men of Anathoth, even the year of their visitation.
