1	여호와께서 바아사를 두고 하나니의 아들 예후에게 이런 말씀을 하셨다.	Then the word of the Lord came to Jehu the son of Hanani against Baasha, saying,
2	“내가 너를 밑바닥에서 끌어올려 나의 백성 이스라엘의 지도자로 세웠다. 그런데 너는 여로보암의 길로 걷고 나의 백성 이스라엘이 죄짓게 했다. 그들의 죄로 나를 화나게 했다.	Forasmuch as I exalted thee out of the dust, and made thee prince over my people Israel; and thou hast walked in the way of Jeroboam, and hast made my people Israel to sin, to provoke me to anger with their sins;
3	보라, 내가 바아사와 그의 집안을 쓸어버릴 것이다. 너의 집안을 느밧의 아들 여로보암의 집안처럼 만들어 버릴 것이다.	Behold, I will take away the posterity of Baasha, and the posterity of his house; and will make thy house like the house of Jeroboam the son of Nebat.
4	바아사에게 딸린 사람이 도시에서 죽으면 개들이 먹고, 들판에서 죽으면 하늘의 새들이 먹을 것이다.”	Him that dieth of Baasha in the city shall the dogs eat; and him that dieth of his in the fields shall the fowls of the air eat.
5	바아사에 관한 나머지 일과 그가 한 일과 그가 보여 준 힘은 이스라엘 임금들의 역사일지에 적혀 있지 않은가?	Now the rest of the acts of Baasha, and what he did, and his might, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?
6	바아사는 그의 조상들과 함께 누웠다. 그는 디르사에 묻혔고, 그의 아들 엘라가 그를 이어 임금이 되었다.	So Baasha slept with his fathers, and was buried in Tirzah: and Elah his son reigned in his stead.
7	또한 하나니의 아들 예후 예언자를 통해 여호와께서 바아사와 그의 집안에 말씀하셨다. 그가 여호와 보시는 데서 저지른 온갖 나쁜 짓 때문이었다. 그의 손으로 하는 일로 그분을 화나시게 함으로써 여로보암 집안처럼 되었던 것이다. 그리고 그가 여로보암 집안을 쳤던 일 때문이었다.	And also by the hand of the prophet Jehu the son of Hanani came the word of the Lord against Baasha, and against his house, even for all the evil that he did in the sight of the Lord, in provoking him to anger with the work of his hands, in being like the house of Jeroboam; and because he killed him.
8	엘라가 이스라엘을 다스리다 유다 임금 아사 스물여섯째 해에 바아사의 아들 엘라가 이스라엘을 다스리는 임금이 되었다. 그는 디르사에서 2년을 다스렸다.	In the twenty and sixth year of Asa king of Judah began Elah the son of Baasha to reign over Israel in Tirzah, two years.
9	그의 신하 시므리 곧 전투수레 절반을 맡은 지휘관이 그에게 맞서려고 사람들과 일을 꾸몄다. 그때 임금은 디르사에서 취하도록 술을 마시고 있었다. 디르사에 있는 왕궁을 맡은 아르사의 집에서였다.	And his servant Zimri, captain of half his chariots, conspired against him, as he was in Tirzah, drinking himself drunk in the house of Arza steward of his house in Tirzah.
10	시므리가 들어가서 그를 쳐서 죽였다. 유다 임금 아사 스물일곱째 해였다. 시므리는 엘라를 이어 임금이 되었다.	And Zimri went in and smote him, and killed him, in the twenty and seventh year of Asa king of Judah, and reigned in his stead.
11	시므리가 임금자리에 앉아 다스릴 때 바아사의 온 집안을 쳤다. 바아사에게 있던 사내는 앙갚음할 사람이든 친구든 남겨 두지 않았다.	And it came to pass, when he began to reign, as soon as he sat on his throne, that he slew all the house of Baasha: he left him not one that pisseth against a wall, neither of his kinsfolks, nor of his friends.
12	시므리는 바아사의 온 집안을 무너뜨렸다. 여호와께서 예후 예언자를 통해 바아사에게 하신 말씀대로 되었다.	Thus did Zimri destroy all the house of Baasha, according to the word of the Lord, which he spake against Baasha by Jehu the prophet,
13	이것은 바아사의 온갖 죄와 그의 아들 엘라의 죄 때문이었다. 그들이 죄를 지으면서 이스라엘을 죄짓게 했던 것이다. 그들이 섬긴 헛된 것들로 여호와 이스라엘의 하나님을 화나시게 했던 것이다.	For all the sins of Baasha, and the sins of Elah his son, by which they sinned, and by which they made Israel to sin, in provoking the Lord God of Israel to anger with their vanities.
14	엘라에 관한 나머지 일과 그가 했던 모든 일은 이스라엘 임금들의 역사일지에 적혀 있지 않은가?	Now the rest of the acts of Elah, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?
15	오므리가 시므리에게 맞서다 유다 임금 아사 스물일곱째 해에 시므리가 임금이 되었다. 그는 7일 동안 디르사에서 다스렸다. 그때 백성은 필리스티아 사람들의 도시 깁브돈에 맞서 진을 치고 있었다.	In the twenty and seventh year of Asa king of Judah did Zimri reign seven days in Tirzah. And the people were encamped against Gibbethon, which belonged to the Philistines.
16	진을 치고 있던 백성이 소식을 들었다. 시므리가 사람들과 일을 꾸몄다는 것이었다. 더 나아가 임금을 쳐 죽였다는 것이다. 이 소식을 듣고, 온 이스라엘은 군대 사령관 오므리를 이스라엘을 다스릴 임금으로 세웠다. 그날 진영에서 그렇게 한 것이다.	And the people that were encamped heard say, Zimri hath conspired, and hath also slain the king: wherefore all Israel made Omri, the captain of the host, king over Israel that day in the camp.
17	그러자 오므리가 온 이스라엘을 거느리고 깁브돈을 떠나 올라가 디르사를 포위했다.	And Omri went up from Gibbethon, and all Israel with him, and they besieged Tirzah.
18	시므리는 도시가 넘어간 것을 보고 왕궁의 궁성으로 갔다. 그는 스스로 왕궁에 불을 질러 죽었다.	And it came to pass, when Zimri saw that the city was taken, that he went into the palace of the king’s house, and burnt the king’s house over him with fire, and died,
19	이것은 그가 여호와 보시기에 나쁜 짓을 저질러 죄를 지은 일 때문이었다. 그는 여로보암의 길로 걸었던 것이다. 또한 그가 죄를 지어서 이스라엘을 죄짓게 했기 때문이다.	For his sins which he sinned in doing evil in the sight of the Lord, in walking in the way of Jeroboam, and in his sin which he did, to make Israel to sin.
20	시므리에 관한 나머지 일과 그가 사람들과 꾸민 일은 이스라엘 임금들의 역사일지에 적혀 있지 않은가?	Now the rest of the acts of Zimri, and his treason that he wrought, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?
21	오므리가 이스라엘을 다스리다 그때 이스라엘 백성이 반으로 나뉘었다. 백성 가운데 반은 기낫의 아들 디브니를 따르면서 그를 임금으로 세우려 했다. 나머지 반은 오므리를 따랐다.	Then were the people of Israel divided into two parts: half of the people followed Tibni the son of Ginath, to make him king; and half followed Omri.
22	오므리를 따르는 백성이 기낫의 아들 디브니를 따르는 백성보다 힘이 셌다. 디브니가 죽고 오므리가 임금이 되었다.	But the people that followed Omri prevailed against the people that followed Tibni the son of Ginath: so Tibni died, and Omri reigned.
23	유다 임금 아사 서른한째 해에 오므리가 이스라엘을 다스리는 임금이 되어 12년을 다스렸다. 디르사에서는 6년을 다스렸다.	In the thirty and first year of Asa king of Judah began Omri to reign over Israel, twelve years: six years reigned he in Tirzah.
24	그는 사마리아산을 세멜에게서 은 68킬로그램에 사들였다. 그 산에다 도시를 세웠다. 그러고는 산의 주인이었던 세멜의 이름을 따서, 자기가 세운 도시의 이름을 사마리아라고 불렀다.	And he bought the hill Samaria of Shemer for two talents of silver, and built on the hill, and called the name of the city which he built, after the name of Shemer, owner of the hill, Samaria.
25	오므리는 여호와께서 보시기에 악한 짓을 저질렀다. 그의 앞에 있던 그 어떤 임금보다 더 악하게 살았다.	But Omri wrought evil in the eyes of the Lord, and did worse than all that were before him.
26	그는 느밧의 아들 여로보암의 모든 길로 걸었다. 그의 죄로 이스라엘을 죄짓게 했다. 그들이 섬긴 헛된 것들로 여호와 이스라엘의 하나님을 화나시게 했던 것이다.	For he walked in all the way of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, and in his sin wherewith he made Israel to sin, to provoke the Lord God of Israel to anger with their vanities.
27	오므리가 했던 나머지 일과 그가 보여 준 힘은 이스라엘 임금들의 역사일지에 적혀 있지 않은가?	Now the rest of the acts of Omri which he did, and his might that he shewed, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?
28	오므리가 그의 조상들과 함께 누웠다. 그는 사마리아에 묻혔고, 그의 아들 아합이 그를 이어 임금이 되었다.	So Omri slept with his fathers, and was buried in Samaria: and Ahab his son reigned in his stead.
29	아합이 이스라엘을 다스리다 오므리의 아들 아합은 유다 임금 아사 서른여덟째 해에 이스라엘을 다스리는 임금이 되었다. 오므리의 아들 아합은 사마리아에서 22년간 이스라엘을 다스렸다.	And in the thirty and eighth year of Asa king of Judah began Ahab the son of Omri to reign over Israel: and Ahab the son of Omri reigned over Israel in Samaria twenty and two years.
30	오므리의 아들 아합은 자기 앞에 있었던 그 누구보다 여호와께서 보시기에 더 악하게 살았다.	And Ahab the son of Omri did evil in the sight of the Lord above all that were before him.
31	느밧의 아들 여로보암이 지은 죄의 길로 걷는 것은 아무것도 아니었다. 그는 시돈 사람들의 임금 엣바알의 딸 이세벨을 아내로 맞이했다. 더 나아가 바알을 섬기며 그 신에게 엎드려 절했다.	And it came to pass, as if it had been a light thing for him to walk in the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, that he took to wife Jezebel the daughter of Ethbaal king of the Zidonians, and went and served Baal, and worshipped him.
32	자기가 사마리아에 지은 바알의 집에다 바알의 제단을 세웠다.	And he reared up an altar for Baal in the house of Baal, which he had built in Samaria.
33	또 아합은 아세라 말뚝을 만들었다. 아합은 이 밖에 더 많은 일로 여호와 이스라엘의 하나님을 화나시게 했다. 그의 앞에 있던 그 어느 임금보다 더했다.	And Ahab made a grove; and Ahab did more to provoke the Lord God of Israel to anger than all the kings of Israel that were before him.
34	그가 다스릴 때 베델 사람 히엘이 여리고를 다시 세웠다. 그는 도시의 터를 닦으면서 맏아들 아비람을 잃었다. 성문을 달면서 막내아들 스굽을 잃었다. 눈의 아들 여호수아를 통해 말씀하신 여호와의 말씀대로 된 것이다.	In his days did Hiel the Beth–elite build Jericho: he laid the foundation thereof in Abiram his firstborn, and set up the gates thereof in his youngest son Segub, according to the word of the Lord, which he spake by Joshua the son of Nun.
