1	므낫세가 다스리다 므낫세가 임금이 되었을 때 12세였다. 55년 동안 예루살렘에서 다스렸다.	Manasseh was twelve years old when he began to reign, and he reigned fifty and five years in Jerusalem:
2	그는 여호와께서 보시기에 나쁜 짓을 저질렀다. 여호와께서 이스라엘 사람들 앞에서 내쫓으신 민족들이 하던 역겨운 일을 따른 것이다.	But did that which was evil in the sight of the Lord, like unto the abominations of the heathen, whom the Lord had cast out before the children of Israel.
3	자기 아버지 히스기야가 허물어 버린 높은곳(산당)들을 다시 세웠다. 바알들의 제단을 일으켜 세우고 아세라 말뚝을 만들었다. 하늘의 모든 별에게 엎드려 절하며 그것들을 섬겼다.	For he built again the high places which Hezekiah his father had broken down, and he reared up altars for Baalim, and made groves, and worshipped all the host of heaven, and served them.
4	여호와의 집에 제단들을 세웠다. 여호와께서 “예루살렘에 내 이름이 영원히 있을 것이다.” 하신 그곳에 세운 것이다.	Also he built altars in the house of the Lord, whereof the Lord had said, In Jerusalem shall my name be for ever.
5	하늘의 모든 별을 섬기는 제단들을 여호와의 집 두 뜰에 세웠다.	And he built altars for all the host of heaven in the two courts of the house of the Lord.
6	그는 벤힌놈 골짜기에서 자기 아들들을 불 가운데로 지나가게 했다. 마술을 부리고 점을 쳤다. 마법을 부리고, 죽은 사람의 영이나 점치는 영에게 묻기도 했다. 여호와께서 보시기에 나쁜 짓을 많이 저질러 그분의 화를 돋우었다.	And he caused his children to pass through the fire in the valley of the son of Hinnom: also he observed times, and used enchantments, and used witchcraft, and dealt with a familiar spirit, and with wizards: he wrought much evil in the sight of the Lord, to provoke him to anger.
7	자기가 새겨 만든 신상을 하나님의 집에 두었다. 그곳을 두고 하나님은 다윗과 그의 아들 솔로몬에게 이렇게 말씀하셨다. “이 집에, 내가 이스라엘의 모든 지파 가운데서 고른 예루살렘에 나의 이름을 영원히 두겠다.	And he set a carved image, the idol which he had made, in the house of God, of which God had said to David and to Solomon his son, In this house, and in Jerusalem, which I have chosen before all the tribes of Israel, will I put my name for ever:
8	더는 이스라엘의 발을, 너희 조상들에게 내가 정해 준 이 땅 위에서 떠나게 하지 않겠다. 다만 그들이 내가 그들에게 명령한 그대로, 모세를 통해 알려 준 모든 가르침과 규정과 법령을 지키며 살기만 한다면, 그렇게 해 주겠다.”	Neither will I any more remove the foot of Israel from out of the land which I have appointed for your fathers; so that they will take heed to do all that I have commanded them, according to the whole law and the statutes and the ordinances by the hand of Moses.
9	므낫세는 유다와 예루살렘에 사는 사람들을 악한 길로 이끌어 나쁜 짓을 저지르게 했다. 여호와께서 이스라엘 사람들 앞에서 쓸어버리신 민족들이 한 것보다 더 나쁜 짓이었다.	So Manasseh made Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem to err, and to do worse than the heathen, whom the Lord had destroyed before the children of Israel.
10	므낫세가 돌이키다 여호와께서 므낫세와 그의 백성에게 말씀하셨지만 그들은 주의 깊게 듣지 않았다.	And the Lord spake to Manasseh, and to his people: but they would not hearken.
11	여호와께서 그들에게 아시리아 임금의 군대 지휘관들을 데려오셨다. 이들은 므낫세를 고리로 붙잡은 다음 놋으로 된 족쇄에 매어 바빌론으로 끌고 갔다.	Wherefore the Lord brought upon them the captains of the host of the king of Assyria, which took Manasseh among the thorns, and bound him with fetters, and carried him to Babylon.
12	그는 어려움을 겪게 되자 여호와 그의 하나님의 노여움을 누그러뜨리려고 했다. 그리고 그의 조상들의 하나님 앞에 자신을 크게 낮추었다.	And when he was in affliction, he besought the Lord his God, and humbled himself greatly before the God of his fathers,
13	하나님께 기도하자 하나님이 그의 기도를 들으시고 그의 바람을 들어주셨다. 그들은 그를 다시 예루살렘으로, 자기 나라로 되돌아가게 했다. 므낫세는 여호와야말로 하나님이시라는 사실을 깨달았다.	And prayed unto him: and he was intreated of him, and heard his supplication, and brought him again to Jerusalem into his kingdom. Then Manasseh knew that the Lord he was God.
14	그러고 나서 그는 다윗의 도시 바깥에 벽을 쌓았다. 마른시내에 있는 기혼 서쪽에서 ‘물고기들의 성문’까지 이르렀다. 오벨 언덕을 둘러서 아주 높이 쌓았다. 그리고 유다에 있는 모든 튼튼한 도시에 군대의 지휘관들을 두었다.	Now after this he built a wall without the city of David, on the west side of Gihon, in the valley, even to the entering in at the fish gate, and compassed about Ophel, and raised it up a very great height, and put captains of war in all the fenced cities of Judah.
15	다른 나라 사람들의 신들과 신상을 여호와의 집에서 치워 버렸다. 또 여호와의 집이 있는 언덕과 예루살렘에 그가 세웠던 제단들을 모두 치워 버렸다. 그것들을 도시 바깥으로 던져 버렸다.	And he took away the strange gods, and the idol out of the house of the Lord, and all the altars that he had built in the mount of the house of the Lord, and in Jerusalem, and cast them out of the city.
16	여호와의 제단을 세워 그 위에 평화의희생제물(화목제물)과 감사제물을 드렸다. 그러고 나서 유다 사람들에게 여호와 이스라엘의 하나님을 섬기라고 말했다.	And he repaired the altar of the Lord, and sacrificed thereon peace offerings and thank offerings, and commanded Judah to serve the Lord God of Israel.
17	그렇지만 아직도 백성들은 높은곳(산당)들에서 제물을 잡아 드리고 있었다. 다만 그것은 여호와 그들의 하나님만을 위한 것이었다. ()	Nevertheless the people did sacrifice still in the high places, yet unto the Lord their God only.
18	므낫세가 죽다 므낫세에 관한 나머지 일, 그가 그의 하나님께 드린 기도, 예견자들이 여호와 이스라엘의 하나님의 이름으로 그에게 했던 말들, 보라, 그것들이 이스라엘 왕들의 일지에 나온다.	Now the rest of the acts of Manasseh, and his prayer unto his God, and the words of the seers that spake to him in the name of the Lord God of Israel, behold, they are written in the book of the kings of Israel.
19	그의 기도와 그 기도를 들어주신 일과 그의 모든 죄와 신의를 저버린 일이 있다. 또 그가 스스로를 낮추기 전에 높은곳(산당)들을 짓고 아세라 말뚝들과 우상들을 세운 곳들이 있다. 보라, 이것들이 호새의 일지에 적혀 있다.	His prayer also, and how God was intreated of him, and all his sin, and his trespass, and the places wherein he built high places, and set up groves and graven images, before he was humbled: behold, they are written among the sayings of the seers.
20	므낫세가 자기 조상들과 함께 누웠고, 사람들이 그를 그의 왕궁에 묻었다. 그의 아들 아몬이 그를 이어 임금이 되었다. ()	So Manasseh slept with his fathers, and they buried him in his own house: and Amon his son reigned in his stead.
21	아몬이 다스리다 아몬이 임금이 되었을 때 22세였다. 2년 동안 예루살렘에서 다스렸다.	Amon was two and twenty years old when he began to reign, and reigned two years in Jerusalem.
22	그는 여호와께서 보시기에 나쁜 짓을 저질렀다. 그의 아버지 므낫세가 한 대로 한 것이다. 자기 아버지 므낫세가 만든 모든 우상들에게 아몬은 희생제물을 잡아서 바치고 그것들을 섬긴 것이다.	But he did that which was evil in the sight of the Lord, as did Manasseh his father: for Amon sacrificed unto all the carved images which Manasseh his father had made, and served them;
23	그는 자기 아버지 므낫세가 스스로를 낮춘 것처럼 여호와 앞에 스스로를 낮추지 않았다. 오히려 이 아몬 임금은 잘못을 더 많이 저질렀다.	And humbled not himself before the Lord, as Manasseh his father had humbled himself; but Amon trespassed more and more.
24	그를 두고 그의 신하들이 일을 꾸며서, 그의 왕궁에서 그를 죽였다.	And his servants conspired against him, and slew him in his own house.
25	그러나 그 땅의 백성은 아몬 임금을 두고 일을 꾸몄던 사람들을 모두 쳐서 죽였다. 그 땅의 백성은 그의 아들 요시야가 그를 이어 임금이 되게 했다.	But the people of the land slew all them that had conspired against king Amon; and the people of the land made Josiah his son king in his stead.
