1	아하스가 다스리다 아하스가 임금이 되었을 때 20세였다. 16년 동안 예루살렘에서 다스렸다. 그는 여호와께서 보시기에 올곧은 일을 하지 않았다. 자기 조상 다윗처럼 하지 않은 것이다.	Ahaz was twenty years old when he began to reign, and he reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem: but he did not that which was right in the sight of the Lord, like David his father:
2	그는 이스라엘 임금들의 길로 걸었다. 더 나아가 바알들을 위해서 형상도 만들었다.	For he walked in the ways of the kings of Israel, and made also molten images for Baalim.
3	벤힌놈 골짜기에서 향을 피워 바치며 자기 아들들을 불 가운데로 지나가게 했다. 다른 나라 사람들이 하는 역겨운 일을 따른 것이다. 이들은 여호와께서 이스라엘 사람들 앞에서 쫓아내신 사람들이다.	Moreover he burnt incense in the valley of the son of Hinnom, and burnt his children in the fire, after the abominations of the heathen whom the Lord had cast out before the children of Israel.
4	그는 높은곳(산당)들과 언덕에서, 온갖 울창한 나무 아래에서 제물을 바치고 향을 피워 바쳤다. ()	He sacrificed also and burnt incense in the high places, and on the hills, and under every green tree.
5	시리아와 이스라엘이 유다를 무찌르다 여호와 곧 아하스의 하나님이 그를 시리아 임금의 손에 넘겨주셨다. 그들이 그를 치고 그에게서 큰 무리를 사로잡아 다마스쿠스로 데려갔다. 또한 그는 이스라엘 임금의 손에도 넘겨졌다. 이스라엘 임금이 그를 크게 무찔러 많은 사람이 죽었다.	Wherefore the Lord his God delivered him into the hand of the king of Syria; and they smote him, and carried away a great multitude of them captives, and brought them to Damascus. And he was also delivered into the hand of the king of Israel, who smote him with a great slaughter.
6	르말랴의 아들 베가흐가 유다에서 120,000명을 하루에 죽였다. 그들 모두가 용맹스러운 사람들이었다. 그들이 여호와 자기네 조상들의 하나님을 버렸기 때문이다.	For Pekah the son of Remaliah slew in Judah an hundred and twenty thousand in one day, which were all valiant men; because they had forsaken the Lord God of their fathers.
7	에브라임의 용사 시그리가 임금의 아들 마아세야, 왕궁 관리 아스리감, 그리고 임금 다음으로 높은 엘가나를 죽였다.	And Zichri, a mighty man of Ephraim, slew Maaseiah the king’s son, and Azrikam the governor of the house, and Elkanah that was next to the king.
8	이스라엘 사람들은 자기 동족에게서 아내와 아들딸 200,000명을 사로잡아 갔고 또 그들에게서 많은 것을 빼앗았다. 그 빼앗은 것을 사마리아로 가져갔다.	And the children of Israel carried away captive of their brethren two hundred thousand, women, sons, and daughters, and took also away much spoil from them, and brought the spoil to Samaria.
9	예언자 오뎃이 사로잡힌 유다 사람들을 돌려보내게 하다 거기에는 여호와의 예언자가 있었다. 그의 이름은 오뎃이었다. 사마리아로 돌아오는 그 군대 앞에 나와서 그들에게 말했다. “보세요, 여호와 여러분의 조상들의 하나님께서 유다에 노하셔서 그들을 여러분의 손에 넘겨주신 겁니다. 그런데 여러분은 하늘에 닿을 듯이 화를 내며 그들을 죽였군요.	But a prophet of the Lord was there, whose name was Oded: and he went out before the host that came to Samaria, and said unto them, Behold, because the Lord God of your fathers was wroth with Judah, he hath delivered them into your hand, and ye have slain them in a rage that reacheth up unto heaven.
10	이제 여러분은 유다와 예루살렘 사람들을 내리눌러 여러분의 남녀 노예로 삼겠다고 말합니다. 여러분한테만큼은 여호와 여러분의 하나님께 저지른 잘못이 없다는 것인가요?	And now ye purpose to keep under the children of Judah and Jerusalem for bondmen and bondwomen unto you: but are there not with you, even with you, sins against the Lord your God?
11	이제 나의 말을 듣고 여러분의 동족에게서 사로잡아 끌고 온 사람들을 돌려보내세요. 여호와의 뜨거운 분노가 여러분 위에 있습니다.”	Now hear me therefore, and deliver the captives again, which ye have taken captive of your brethren: for the fierce wrath of the Lord is upon you.
12	에브라임 사람들의 우두머리들 가운데 몇몇 사람이 일어났다. 여호하난의 아들 아사랴, 므실레못의 아들 베레갸, 살룸의 아들 히스기야, 하들래의 아들 아마사였다. 그들은 오고 있는 군대를 막아섰다.	Then certain of the heads of the children of Ephraim, Azariah the son of Johanan, Berechiah the son of Meshillemoth, and Jehizkiah the son of Shallum, and Amasa the son of Hadlai, stood up against them that came from the war,
13	그러고는 그들에게 말했다. “사로잡아 온 이 사람들을 데리고 들어오지 마세요. 여러분은 우리가 여호와께 잘못을 저지르게 하려고 합니다. 우리가 이미 저지른 죄와 잘못에 더해서요. 우리 잘못이 커서 뜨거운 분노가 이스라엘 위에 있는데도요.”	And said unto them, Ye shall not bring in the captives hither: for whereas we have offended against the Lord already, ye intend to add more to our sins and to our trespass: for our trespass is great, and there is fierce wrath against Israel.
14	그러자 군인들은 사로잡아 온 사람들과 빼앗아 온 것을 지휘관들과 모인 무리 모두 앞에 내놓았다.	So the armed men left the captives and the spoil before the princes and all the congregation.
15	이름이 불린 이 남자들이 일어나 사로잡혀 온 사람들을 돌봐 주었다. 헐벗은 사람은 빼앗아 온 것으로 모두 다 입혀 주었다. 옷을 입혀 주고 신을 신겨 주고 먹고 마실 것을 주고 기름을 발라 주었다. 쓰러진 사람은 모두 나귀에 태웠다. 그러고는 대추야자나무(종려나무) 도시 여리고에 있는 그들 친족 곁으로 데려다주고 사마리아로 돌아왔다. ()	And the men which were expressed by name rose up, and took the captives, and with the spoil clothed all that were naked among them, and arrayed them, and shod them, and gave them to eat and to drink, and anointed them, and carried all the feeble of them upon asses, and brought them to Jericho, the city of palm trees, to their brethren: then they returned to Samaria.
16	아하스가 아시리아 임금 디글랏빌레셀을 부르다 그때 아하스 임금은 아시리아 임금에게 사람을 보내서 자기를 도와 달라고 했다.	At that time did king Ahaz send unto the kings of Assyria to help him.
17	에돔 사람들이 다시 와서 유다를 치고 사람들을 사로잡아 갔던 것이다.	For again the Edomites had come and smitten Judah, and carried away captives.
18	필리스티아 사람들은 유다에서 세펠라와 네게브의 도시들을 덮쳤다. 그러고는 벳세메스, 아얄론, 그데롯, 소고와 그에 딸린 마을들, 딤나와 그에 딸린 마을들, 김소와 그에 딸린 마을들을 차지하고 거기에 살았다.	The Philistines also had invaded the cities of the low country, and of the south of Judah, and had taken Beth–shemesh, and Ajalon, and Gederoth, and Shocho with the villages thereof, and Timnah with the villages thereof, Gimzo also and the villages thereof: and they dwelt there.
19	여호와께서 이스라엘 임금 아하스 때문에 유다를 낮추신 것이다. 아하스가 유다를 제멋대로 살게 하면서 여호와께 신의를 저버렸기 때문이었다.	For the Lord brought Judah low because of Ahaz king of Israel; for he made Judah naked, and transgressed sore against the Lord.
20	아시리아 임금 디글랏빌레셀이 그에게 왔다. 그렇지만 그를 괴롭게 할 뿐 힘이 되어 주지는 않았다.	And Tilgath–pilneser king of Assyria came unto him, and distressed him, but strengthened him not.
21	아하스가 여호와의 집과 왕궁과 관리들의 집에 있는 것을 나누어 아시리아 임금에게 주었다. 그렇게 해도 자기에게 아무런 도움이 되지 못했다.	For Ahaz took away a portion out of the house of the Lord, and out of the house of the king, and of the princes, and gave it unto the king of Assyria: but he helped him not.
22	아하스가 여호와께 신의를 저버리다 괴로울 때 여호와께 더욱더 신의를 저버린 사람이 있었는데, 바로 그 사람이 아하스 임금이었다.	And in the time of his distress did he trespass yet more against the Lord: this is that king Ahaz.
23	그는 자기를 쳐서 무찌른 다마스쿠스 신들에게 희생제물을 잡아 바치며 생각했다. “시리아 임금들의 신들이 그들을 도왔어. 그 신들에게 희생제물을 잡아 드리면 그들이 나도 도와줄 거야.” 그렇지만 그것들은 오히려 아하스와 온 이스라엘을 무너뜨렸다.	For he sacrificed unto the gods of Damascus, which smote him: and he said, Because the gods of the kings of Syria help them, therefore will I sacrifice to them, that they may help me. But they were the ruin of him, and of all Israel.
24	아하스는 하나님의 집의 그릇들을 모아서 하나님의 집의 그릇들을 부수었다. 여호와의 집의 문을 닫아 잠그고 예루살렘 구석구석에 제단을 만들었다.	And Ahaz gathered together the vessels of the house of God, and cut in pieces the vessels of the house of God, and shut up the doors of the house of the Lord, and he made him altars in every corner of Jerusalem.
25	유다의 도시마다 그는 높은곳(산당)들을 세우고 다른 신들에게 향을 피워 올렸다. 그래서 여호와 자기 조상들의 하나님을 노엽게 했다.	And in every several city of Judah he made high places to burn incense unto other gods, and provoked to anger the Lord God of his fathers.
26	그에 관한 나머지 일들과 그의 모든 길은 처음부터 끝까지, 보라, 유다와 이스라엘 임금들의 책에 적혀 있다.	Now the rest of his acts and of all his ways, first and last, behold, they are written in the book of the kings of Judah and Israel.
27	아하스가 자기 조상들과 함께 누웠고, 사람들이 그를 예루살렘 시내에 묻었다. 이스라엘 임금들의 무덤으로 모셔 간 것이 아니었다. 그의 아들 히스기야가 그를 이어 임금이 되었다.	And Ahaz slept with his fathers, and they buried him in the city, even in Jerusalem: but they brought him not into the sepulchres of the kings of Israel: and Hezekiah his son reigned in his stead.
