1	여호사밧은 자기 조상들과 함께 누워, 다윗의 도시에 자기 조상들과 함께 묻혔다. 그를 이어 그의 아들 여호람이 임금이 되었다. ()	Now Jehoshaphat slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David. And Jehoram his son reigned in his stead.
2	여호람이 다스리다 그에게는 형제들이 있었다. 곧 여호사밧의 아들들이다. 이들은 아사랴, 여히엘, 스가랴, 아사랴, 미카엘, 스바댜다. 이들은 모두 이스라엘 임금 여호사밧의 아들들이다.	And he had brethren the sons of Jehoshaphat, Azariah, and Jehiel, and Zechariah, and Azariah, and Michael, and Shephatiah: all these were the sons of Jehoshaphat king of Israel.
3	그들의 아버지는 그들에게 많은 선물을 주었는데, 은과 금과 값진 물건들에다 요새로 만든 유다의 도시들도 있었다. 그러나 왕국은 여호람에게 주었다. 그가 맏아들이었기 때문이다.	And their father gave them great gifts of silver, and of gold, and of precious things, with fenced cities in Judah: but the kingdom gave he to Jehoram; because he was the firstborn.
4	여호람은 자기 아버지의 나라 위에 올라서서 힘을 갖춘 다음 자기 형제들을 모두 칼로 죽였다. 이스라엘의 지도자들 몇몇도 죽였다.	Now when Jehoram was risen up to the kingdom of his father, he strengthened himself, and slew all his brethren with the sword, and divers also of the princes of Israel.
5	32세에 여호람이 임금이 되어, 8년 동안 예루살렘에서 임금으로 다스렸다.	Jehoram was thirty and two years old when he began to reign, and he reigned eight years in Jerusalem.
6	그는 이스라엘 임금들의 길로 걸어서 아합 집안이 했던 대로 따라 했다. 아합의 딸이 그의 아내가 되었기 때문이다. 그는 여호와께서 보시기에 나쁜 짓을 저질렀다.	And he walked in the way of the kings of Israel, like as did the house of Ahab: for he had the daughter of Ahab to wife: and he wrought that which was evil in the eyes of the Lord.
7	그러나 여호와는 다윗의 집안을 없애 버리려 하지 않으셨다. 다윗에게 하셨던 언약을 생각하신 것이다. 그에게 등불을 주겠다고 말씀하셨기 때문이다, 그의 자손에게도 영원히!	Howbeit the Lord would not destroy the house of David, because of the covenant that he had made with David, and as he promised to give a light to him and to his sons for ever.
8	여호람 때 에돔이 유다의 손아귀 아래에서 떨어져 나갔다. 그리고 자신들을 다스릴 임금을 세웠다.	In his days the Edomites revolted from under the dominion of Judah, and made themselves a king.
9	여호람은 자기 지휘관들과 함께 모든 전투수레를 이끌고 건너갔다. 밤에 일어나 자기를 둘러싸고 있던 에돔 사람들과 전투수레를 거느린 지휘관들을 쳤다.	Then Jehoram went forth with his princes, and all his chariots with him: and he rose up by night, and smote the Edomites which compassed him in, and the captains of the chariots.
10	에돔은 유다의 손아귀 아래에서 떨어져 나가 오늘에 이르렀다. 바로 그때 립나도 여호람의 손아귀 아래에서 떨어져 나갔다. 여호와 자기 조상들의 하나님을 그가 저버렸기 때문이다.	So the Edomites revolted from under the hand of Judah unto this day. The same time also did Libnah revolt from under his hand; because he had forsaken the Lord God of his fathers.
11	또한 그는 유다의 산 위에 높은곳(산당)들을 만들었다. 그래서 예루살렘에 사는 사람들을 놀아나게 하고 유다 사람들을 엇나가게 했다.	Moreover he made high places in the mountains of Judah, and caused the inhabitants of Jerusalem to commit fornication, and compelled Judah thereto.
12	그래서 엘리야 예언자에게서 이런 글이 왔다. “임금님의 조상 다윗의 하나님 여호와께서 이렇게 말씀하셨습니다. ‘너는 너의 아버지 여호사밧의 길과 유다 임금 아사의 길로 걷지 않았다.	And there came a writing to him from Elijah the prophet, saying, Thus saith the Lord God of David thy father, Because thou hast not walked in the ways of Jehoshaphat thy father, nor in the ways of Asa king of Judah,
13	너는 이스라엘 임금들의 길로 걸으며 유다 사람들과 예루살렘에 사는 사람들을 놀아나게 했다. 아합 집안이 놀아나게 한 것과 같았다. 또한 너보다 더 나은, 너의 아버지 쪽 집안의 형제들도 죽였다.’	But hast walked in the way of the kings of Israel, and hast made Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem to go a whoring, like to the whoredoms of the house of Ahab, and also hast slain thy brethren of thy father’s house, which were better than thyself:
14	보세요, 여호와께서 임금님의 백성 가운데 큰 재앙이 일어나게 하실 겁니다. 임금님의 자녀들과 아내들과 모든 재물 가운데도요.	Behold, with a great plague will the Lord smite thy people, and thy children, and thy wives, and all thy goods:
15	임금님은 창자에 탈이 나 큰 병을 앓게 될 것입니다. 나중에는 그 병 때문에 임금님의 창자가 빠져나올 것입니다. 병이 날마다 나빠지는 것이지요.”	And thou shalt have great sickness by disease of thy bowels, until thy bowels fall out by reason of the sickness day by day.
16	여호와께서는 여호람을 거스르도록 필리스티아 사람들과 아라비아 사람들의 마음을 흔드셨다. 아라비아 사람들은 에티오피아 사람들 곁에 살고 있었다.	Moreover the Lord stirred up against Jehoram the spirit of the Philistines, and of the Arabians, that were near the Ethiopians:
17	그들은 유다로 올라와 뚫고 나아와서 왕궁에 있는 모든 재물과 그의 자녀와 아내를 사로잡아 갔다. 그에게 남은 아들이라고는 막내아들 여호아하스밖에 없었다.	And they came up into Judah, and brake into it, and carried away all the substance that was found in the king’s house, and his sons also, and his wives; so that there was never a son left him, save Jehoahaz, the youngest of his sons.
18	이런 일이 모두 있은 뒤에 여호와께서 여호람을 치셨다. 그의 창자에 병이 들었는데 고칠 길이 없었다.	And after all this the Lord smote him in his bowels with an incurable disease.
19	여러 날이 흘러 둘째 해가 끝날 무렵에 그의 병 때문에 창자가 빠져나왔다. 그는 괴롭게 앓다가 죽었다. 그의 백성은 그의 조상들을 위해 피웠던 불과 같은 불을 그를 위해서는 피워 주지 않았다.	And it came to pass, that in process of time, after the end of two years, his bowels fell out by reason of his sickness: so he died of sore diseases. And his people made no burning for him, like the burning of his fathers.
20	32세에 그가 임금이 되어, 8년을 예루살렘에서 임금으로 다스렸다. 그러나 그는 대우받지 못하고 떠났다. 사람들이 그를 다윗의 도시에 묻었지만, 임금들이 묻힌 곳은 아니었다.	Thirty and two years old was he when he began to reign, and he reigned in Jerusalem eight years, and departed without being desired. Howbeit they buried him in the city of David, but not in the sepulchres of the kings.
