절	새한글성경 (2024)	King James Version
1	여호사밧이 다스리다 그의 아들 여호사밧이 그를 이어 왕이 되었다. 그는 이스라엘에 맞서 스스로 힘을 키웠다.	And Jehoshaphat his son reigned in his stead, and strengthened himself against Israel.
2	그는 유다의 모든 굳건한 도시에 군대를 두었다. 유다 땅과 그의 아버지 아사가 빼앗아 차지한 에브라임의 여러 도시에 주둔군을 두었다.	And he placed forces in all the fenced cities of Judah, and set garrisons in the land of Judah, and in the cities of Ephraim, which Asa his father had taken.
3	여호와는 여호사밧과 함께하셨다. 그가 자기 조상 다윗이 처음에 갔던 길을 걸으며 바알들을 찾지 않았기 때문이다.	And the Lord was with Jehoshaphat, because he walked in the first ways of his father David, and sought not unto Baalim;
4	자기 조상의 하나님을 찾고 그분의 명령을 따라 걸었기 때문이다. 이스라엘이 하던 짓과는 달랐다.	But sought to the Lord God of his father, and walked in his commandments, and not after the doings of Israel.
5	그러자 여호와는 왕국을 여호사밧의 손에 굳게 세우셨으며 온 유다는 여호사밧에게 예물을 바쳤다. 그에게는 큰 부와 명예가 있었다.	Therefore the Lord stablished the kingdom in his hand; and all Judah brought to Jehoshaphat presents; and he had riches and honour in abundance.
6	그는 마음을 굳세게 하여 여호와의 길을 따랐다. 더 나아가 높은곳(산당)들과 아세라 말뚝을 유다에서 없애 버렸다.	And his heart was lifted up in the ways of the Lord: moreover he took away the high places and groves out of Judah.
7	그는 다스린 지 3년째 되는 해에 지도자들을 보냈다. 벤하일, 오바댜, 스가랴, 느다넬, 미가야후였다. 유다의 여러 도시에서 가르치게 하려는 것이었다.	Also in the third year of his reign he sent to his princes, even to Ben–hail, and to Obadiah, and to Zechariah, and to Nethaneel, and to Michaiah, to teach in the cities of Judah.
8	그들과 더불어 레위 사람들도 보냈다. 스마야, 느다냐, 스바댜, 아사헬, 스미라못, 요나단, 아도니야, 도비야, 도바도니야였다. 이 레위 사람들과 더불어 제사장들인 엘리사마와 여호람도 보냈다.	And with them he sent Levites, even Shemaiah, and Nethaniah, and Zebadiah, and Asahel, and Shemiramoth, and Jehonathan, and Adonijah, and Tobijah, and Tob–adonijah, Levites; and with them Elishama and Jehoram, priests.
9	그들은 유다에서 가르쳤으며 여호와의 율법책을 가지고 있었다. 유다 도시들을 모두 돌면서 백성을 가르쳤다.	And they taught in Judah, and had the book of the law of the Lord with them, and went about throughout all the cities of Judah, and taught the people.
10	여호사밧의 힘이 커지다 여호와를 무서워하는 마음이 유다 둘레에 있는 땅의 모든 나라에 생겨났다. 그래서 그들은 여호사밧에게 싸움을 걸지 못했다.	And the fear of the Lord fell upon all the kingdoms of the lands that were round about Judah, so that they made no war against Jehoshaphat.
11	필리스티아 사람 가운데에는 여호사밧에게 예물을 드리며 은을 바치는 사람들이 있었다. 아라비아 사람들 또한 그에게 짐승 떼를 몰고 왔다. 숫양 7,700마리와 숫염소 7,700마리였다.	Also some of the Philistines brought Jehoshaphat presents, and tribute silver; and the Arabians brought him flocks, seven thousand and seven hundred rams, and seven thousand and seven hundred he goats.
12	여호사밧은 점점 더 힘이 커졌고, 유다에 여러 성채와 창고 도시들을 지었다.	And Jehoshaphat waxed great exceedingly; and he built in Judah castles, and cities of store.
13	그는 유다 여러 도시에서 일을 많이 했다. 군사들과 용사들은 예루살렘에 있었다.	And he had much business in the cities of Judah: and the men of war, mighty men of valour, were in Jerusalem.
14	그들을 아버지 쪽 집안으로 세어 보면 이러하다. 유다에는 천명대장으로서 앗나 지휘관이 있었다. 그에게는 용사 300,000명이 있었다.	And these are the numbers of them according to the house of their fathers: Of Judah, the captains of thousands; Adnah the chief, and with him mighty men of valour three hundred thousand.
15	그의 수하에 여호하난 지휘관이 있었다. 그에게는 280,000명이 있었다.	And next to him was Jehohanan the captain, and with him two hundred and fourscore thousand.
16	그의 수하에 시그리의 아들 아마샤가 있었다. 여호와께 자신을 기꺼이 드린 사람이었다. 그에게는 200,000명의 용사가 있었다.	And next him was Amasiah the son of Zichri, who willingly offered himself unto the Lord; and with him two hundred thousand mighty men of valour.
17	베냐민 가운데에는 용사 엘랴다가 있었다. 그에게는 활과 방패를 든 사람 200,000명이 있었다.	And of Benjamin; Eliada a mighty man of valour, and with him armed men with bow and shield two hundred thousand.
18	그의 수하에 여호사밧이 있었다. 그에게는 싸울 준비가 되어 있는 사람 180,000명이 있었다.	And next him was Jehozabad, and with him an hundred and fourscore thousand ready prepared for the war.
19	이들은 임금을 섬기는 사람들이었다. 이들 말고도 임금이 온 유다의 요새 도시에 두었던 사람들이 있었다.	These waited on the king, beside those whom the king put in the fenced cities throughout all Judah.
