1	여호수아가 온 이스라엘의 지도자들에게 말을 하다 여호와께서 이스라엘을 사방의 모든 원수들에게서 벗어나 편히 쉬게 해 주시고 나서 시간이 많이 지났다. 세월이 흘러 여호수아가 늙어 나이가 많아졌다.	And it came to pass a long time after that the Lord had given rest unto Israel from all their enemies round about, that Joshua waxed old and stricken in age.
2	여호수아가 온 이스라엘 곧 원로들과 어른들과 재판관들과 행정관들을 불러 그들에게 말했다. “나는, 늙어 나이가 많아졌습니다.	And Joshua called for all Israel, and for their elders, and for their heads, and for their judges, and for their officers, and said unto them, I am old and stricken in age:
3	여호와 여러분의 하나님이 여러분 앞에서 이 모든 민족에게 하신 모든 일을 여러분은 보았습니다. 여호와 여러분의 하나님이야말로 여러분을 위해 싸우시는 분이십니다.	And ye have seen all that the Lord your God hath done unto all these nations because of you; for the Lord your God is he that hath fought for you.
4	보십시오, 남아 있는 이 민족들의 땅을 내가 여러분을 위해 여러분의 지파들에게 몫으로 나누어 주었습니다. 요르단강에서부터 해 지는 곳인 큰 바다 지중해에 이르기까지요. 내가 뿌리 뽑아 버린 모든 민족의 땅도 포함해서 말입니다.	Behold, I have divided unto you by lot these nations that remain, to be an inheritance for your tribes, from Jordan, with all the nations that I have cut off, even unto the great sea westward.
5	여호와 여러분의 하나님, 그분이 그들을 여러분 앞에서 내쫓고 그들을 여러분 앞에서 몰아내 주실 것입니다. 그래서 여러분이 그들의 땅을 차지할 것입니다. 여호와 여러분의 하나님이 여러분에게 말씀하신 대로입니다.	And the Lord your God, he shall expel them from before you, and drive them from out of your sight; and ye shall possess their land, as the Lord your God hath promised unto you.
6	마음을 아주 단단히 먹고 모세의 가르침 책에 적어 둔 것은 무엇이든 잘 따르도록 하십시오. 오른쪽으로든 왼쪽으로든 그 가르침에서 벗어나지 않도록 하십시오.	Be ye therefore very courageous to keep and to do all that is written in the book of the law of Moses, that ye turn not aside therefrom to the right hand or to the left;
7	아직 여러분 가운데 남아 있는 이 여러 민족과 사귀지 않도록 하십시오. 그들이 섬기는 신들의 이름을 부르지 않도록 하고, 그 이름으로 맹세하지도 않도록 하십시오. 그것들을 섬기지 않도록 하고 거기에 예배하지도 않도록 하십시오.	That ye come not among these nations, these that remain among you; neither make mention of the name of their gods, nor cause to swear by them, neither serve them, nor bow yourselves unto them:
8	여호와 여러분의 하나님께 붙어 있도록 하십시오. 여러분이 지금까지 해 오던 대로요.	But cleave unto the Lord your God, as ye have done unto this day.
9	여호와께서 크고 강한 여러 민족을 여러분 앞에서 몰아내 주셨습니다. 그리하여 여러분, 오늘까지 아무도 여러분 앞에서는 버텨 내지 못했습니다.	For the Lord hath driven out from before you great nations and strong: but as for you, no man hath been able to stand before you unto this day.
10	여러분 가운데서 한 명이 1,000명을 뒤쫓습니다. 여호와 여러분의 하나님, 그분이 여러분을 위해 싸우시는 분이기 때문입니다. 그분이 여러분에게 말씀하신 대로입니다.	One man of you shall chase a thousand: for the Lord your God, he it is that fighteth for you, as he hath promised you.
11	여러분은 매우 조심하여 목숨을 잃지 않도록 하십시오. 여호와 여러분의 하나님을 사랑하도록 하십시오.	Take good heed therefore unto yourselves, that ye love the Lord your God.
12	여러분이 혹시라도 돌아서서 여러분 가운데 남아 있는 이 여러 민족에게 붙어 그들과 사돈을 맺고 사귄다고 합시다.	Else if ye do in any wise go back, and cleave unto the remnant of these nations, even these that remain among you, and shall make marriages with them, and go in unto them, and they to you:
13	그러면 여러분은 똑똑히 알아 두도록 하십시오. 여호와 여러분의 하나님이 여러분 앞에서 이 민족들을 더는 몰아내 주지 않으실 것입니다. 그들이 여러분에게 올가미와 덫이 되고, 여러분의 옆구리에는 회초리가, 여러분의 눈에는 가시가 될 것입니다. 마침내 여러분은 여호와 여러분의 하나님이 여러분에게 주신 이 좋은 땅에서 망해 버릴 것입니다.	Know for a certainty that the Lord your God will no more drive out any of these nations from before you; but they shall be snares and traps unto you, and scourges in your sides, and thorns in your eyes, until ye perish from off this good land which the Lord your God hath given you.
14	이제 나는 온 세상 사람이 간 길로 오늘 가려고 합니다. 여러분이 온 마음과 온 정성으로 알아 둘 것이 있습니다. 여호와 여러분의 하나님이 여러분을 두고 일러 주신 좋은 말씀 가운데서 이루어지지 않은 것이 한 말씀도 없다는 사실입니다. 그 모든 것이 여러분에게 이루어졌습니다. 그 가운데서 이루어지지 않은 것은 한 말씀도 없습니다.	And, behold, this day I am going the way of all the earth: and ye know in all your hearts and in all your souls, that not one thing hath failed of all the good things which the Lord your God spake concerning you; all are come to pass unto you, and not one thing hath failed thereof.
15	여호와 여러분의 하나님이 여러분에게 일러 주신 온갖 좋은 말씀이 여러분에게 이루어졌습니다. 그와 마찬가지로 여호와께서는 온갖 나쁜 일이 여러분에게 닥치게 하여 마침내 여러분을 뿌리 뽑아 버리실 수도 있습니다. 여호와 여러분의 하나님이 여러분에게 주신 이 좋은 땅에서요.	Therefore it shall come to pass, that as all good things are come upon you, which the Lord your God promised you; so shall the Lord bring upon you all evil things, until he have destroyed you from off this good land which the Lord your God hath given you.
16	여호와 여러분의 하나님이 여러분에게 요구하여 여러분이 하나님께 한 언약을 여러분이 어긴다고 합시다. 여러분이 가서 다른 신들을 섬기고 그들에게 예배한다고 합시다. 그러면 여호와께서 여러분을 향한 노여움으로 불타올라, 여러분은 곧바로 망해 버릴 것입니다. 여호와께서 여러분에게 주신 좋은 땅에서요.”	When ye have transgressed the covenant of the Lord your God, which he commanded you, and have gone and served other gods, and bowed yourselves to them; then shall the anger of the Lord be kindled against you, and ye shall perish quickly from off the good land which he hath given unto you.
