1	에스라와 함께 올라온 우두머리들의 명단 아르타크세르크세스 임금이 다스릴 때 나와 함께 바빌로니아에서 올라온 집안 우두머리들과 그들의 가족 관계 기록은 이러하다.	These are now the chief of their fathers, and this is the genealogy of them that went up with me from Babylon, in the reign of Artaxerxes the king.
2	비느하스 사람들 가운데서는 게르솜이, 이다말 사람들 가운데서는 다니엘이, 다윗 사람들 가운데서는 핫두스가 있었다.	Of the sons of Phinehas; Gershom: of the sons of Ithamar; Daniel: of the sons of David; Hattush.
3	스가냐 사람들 가운데서는, 바로스 사람들 가운데 스가랴가 있었다. 스가랴와 함께 가족 관계 기록부에 이름을 올린 남자는 150명이다.	Of the sons of Shechaniah, of the sons of Pharosh; Zechariah: and with him were reckoned by genealogy of the males an hundred and fifty.
4	바핫모압 사람들 가운데서는 스라히야의 아들 엘여호에내가 있었다. 그와 함께한 남자는 200명이다.	Of the sons of Pahath–moab; Elihoenai the son of Zerahiah, and with him two hundred males.
5	스가냐 사람들 가운데서는 야하시엘의 아들이 있었다. 그와 함께한 남자는 300명이다.	Of the sons of Shechaniah; the son of Jahaziel, and with him three hundred males.
6	아딘 사람들 가운데서는 요나단의 아들 에벳이 있었다. 그와 함께한 남자는 50명이다.	Of the sons also of Adin; Ebed the son of Jonathan, and with him fifty males.
7	엘람 사람들 가운데서는 아달랴의 아들 여사야가 있었다. 그와 함께한 남자는 70명이다.	And of the sons of Elam; Jeshaiah the son of Athaliah, and with him seventy males.
8	스바댜 사람들 가운데서는 미카엘의 아들 스바댜가 있었다. 그와 함께한 남자는 80명이다.	And of the sons of Shephatiah; Zebadiah the son of Michael, and with him fourscore males.
9	요압 사람들 가운데서는 여히엘의 아들 오바댜가 있었다. 그와 함께한 남자는 218명이다.	Of the sons of Joab; Obadiah the son of Jehiel, and with him two hundred and eighteen males.
10	슬로밋 사람들 가운데서는 요시뱌의 아들이 있었다. 그와 함께한 남자는 160명이다.	And of the sons of Shelomith; the son of Josiphiah, and with him an hundred and threescore males.
11	베배 사람들 가운데서는 베배의 아들 스가랴가 있었다. 그와 함께한 남자는 28명이다.	And of the sons of Bebai; Zechariah the son of Bebai, and with him twenty and eight males.
12	아스갓 사람들 가운데서는 학가단의 아들 요하난이 있었다. 그와 함께한 남자는 110명이다.	And of the sons of Azgad; Johanan the son of Hakkatan, and with him an hundred and ten males.
13	아도니감 사람들 가운데서는 나중에 올라온 사람들이 있었다. 그들의 이름은 엘리벨렛, 여이엘, 스마야였다. 그들과 함께한 남자는 60명이다.	And of the last sons of Adonikam, whose names are these, Eliphelet, Jeiel, and Shemaiah, and with them threescore males.
14	비그왜 사람들 가운데서는 우대와 사붓이 있었다. 그와 함께한 남자는 70명이다.	Of the sons also of Bigvai; Uthai, and Zabbud, and with them seventy males.
15	레위 사람들과 성전 허드렛일꾼들이 돌아오다 나는 아하와로 흘러드는 강 가로 그들을 모았다. 우리는 그곳에서 3일 동안 진을 치고 있었다. 나는 백성과 제사장들을 살펴보았는데, 거기서 레위 사람을 찾을 수 없었다.	And I gathered them together to the river that runneth to Ahava; and there abode we in tents three days: and I viewed the people, and the priests, and found there none of the sons of Levi.
16	그래서 사람을 보내 엘리에셀, 아리엘, 스마야, 엘나단, 야립, 엘나단, 나단, 스가랴, 므술람을 불렀다. 이들은 우두머리들이었다. 또한 요야립과 엘나단을 불렀다. 이들은 선생들이었다.	Then sent I for Eliezer, for Ariel, for Shemaiah, and for Elnathan, and for Jarib, and for Elnathan, and for Nathan, and for Zechariah, and for Meshullam, chief men; also for Joiarib, and for Elnathan, men of understanding.
17	나는 그들을 가시뱌라는 곳의 우두머리 잇도에게 보냈다. 그들의 입으로 할 말을 일러 주었다. 가시뱌라는 곳에 있는 잇도와 그의 형제와 성전 허드렛일꾼들에게 전할 말이다. 곧 우리 하나님의 집을 위해 섬길 사람들을 우리에게 보내 달라는 것이었다.	And I sent them with commandment unto Iddo the chief at the place Casiphia, and I told them what they should say unto Iddo, and to his brethren the Nethinims, at the place Casiphia, that they should bring unto us ministers for the house of our God.
18	우리 하나님의 따스한 손길이 우리와 함께했다. 그 덕분에 그들은 레위의 아들이자 이스라엘의 손자인 마흘리의 자손 가운데 유능한 사람을 우리에게 데려왔다. 또한 세레뱌와 그의 아들들과 형제들 18명을 데려왔다.	And by the good hand of our God upon us they brought us a man of understanding, of the sons of Mahli, the son of Levi, the son of Israel; and Sherebiah, with his sons and his brethren, eighteen;
19	또한 하사뱌와 므라리 사람들 가운데 여사야를 데려왔으며, 그의 형제들과 그들의 아들들 20명을 데려왔다.	And Hashabiah, and with him Jeshaiah of the sons of Merari, his brethren and their sons, twenty;
20	레위 사람들을 도와 일하라고 다윗과 관리들이 붙여 주었던 성전 허드렛일꾼들이 있었다. 그 성전의 일꾼 가운데서 220명을 데려왔다. 그들은 모두 이름이 불린 사람들이었다.	Also of the Nethinims, whom David and the princes had appointed for the service of the Levites, two hundred and twenty Nethinims: all of them were expressed by name.
21	아하와강 가에서 금식하다 나는 아하와강 가에서 금식을 선언했다. 우리 하나님 앞에서 스스로 낮추려는 것이었다. 그분께 우리와 우리 아이들과 우리 재산에 아무 일 없이 길을 가게 해 달라고 부탁드리려 했던 것이다.	Then I proclaimed a fast there, at the river of Ahava, that we might afflict ourselves before our God, to seek of him a right way for us, and for our little ones, and for all our substance.
22	길에서 마주칠 원수 앞에서 우리를 도와줄 군인들과 기마병들을 임금한테 달라고 하는 것이 부끄러웠기 때문이다. 우리가 임금에게 말했던 적이 있었다. “우리 하나님을 찾는 모든 사람 위에 우리 하나님의 손길이 따스하게 머물러 있습니다. 그분을 저버리는 모든 사람 위에 그분의 어마어마한 분노가 머물러 있습니다.”	For I was ashamed to require of the king a band of soldiers and horsemen to help us against the enemy in the way: because we had spoken unto the king, saying, The hand of our God is upon all them for good that seek him; but his power and his wrath is against all them that forsake him.
23	그래서 우리는 금식하면서 이 일을 놓고 우리 하나님께 부탁을 드렸다. 그분은 우리의 기도를 들어 주셨다.	So we fasted and besought our God for this: and he was intreated of us.
24	하나님의 집에 예물과 제물을 바치다 나는 지도층 제사장 열두 명을 골라 뽑았다. 세레뱌와 하사뱌, 또 그들의 형제들 가운데서 그들과 함께한 열 명이었다.	Then I separated twelve of the chief of the priests, Sherebiah, Hashabiah, and ten of their brethren with them,
25	나는 그들에게 은과 금과 그릇들의 무게를 달아서 주었다. 우리 하나님의 집에 예물로, 임금과 그의 참모들과 사령관들과 거기 있던 온 이스라엘이 바친 것들이었다.	And weighed unto them the silver, and the gold, and the vessels, even the offering of the house of our God, which the king, and his counsellors, and his lords, and all Israel there present, had offered:
26	나는 은 22.1톤과 은그릇 3.4톤과 금 3.4톤을 달아서 그들의 손에 넘겨주었다.	I even weighed unto their hand six hundred and fifty talents of silver, and silver vessels an hundred talents, and of gold an hundred talents;
27	또한 금그릇 스무 개를 주었는데, 그 가치는 1,000다릭이었다. 반짝거리는 좋은 놋그릇 두 개도 주었는데, 금만큼 값진 것이었다.	Also twenty basons of gold, of a thousand drams; and two vessels of fine copper, precious as gold.
28	나는 그들에게 말했다. “여러분은 여호와께 거룩한 분들이며 그릇들도 거룩합니다. 은과 금은 여호와 여러분 조상들의 하나님께 마음에서 우러나 바친 예물입니다.	And I said unto them, Ye are holy unto the Lord; the vessels are holy also; and the silver and the gold are a freewill offering unto the Lord God of your fathers.
29	여러분이 눈여겨보면서 지키고 있다가, 지도층 제사장들과 레위 사람들과 예루살렘에 있는 이스라엘 집안의 지도자들 앞에서 저울에 달아 보십시오. 여호와의 집에 있는 방에서 그렇게 하십시오.”	Watch ye, and keep them, until ye weigh them before the chief of the priests and the Levites, and chief of the fathers of Israel, at Jerusalem, in the chambers of the house of the Lord.
30	제사장들과 레위 사람들은 은과 금과 그릇의 무게를 달아서 받았다. 예루살렘에 있는 우리 하나님의 집으로 가져가려는 것이었다.	So took the priests and the Levites the weight of the silver, and the gold, and the vessels, to bring them to Jerusalem unto the house of our God.
31	우리는 첫째 달 열두째 날에 예루살렘으로 가려고 아하와강을 떠났다. 우리 하나님의 손길이 우리와 함께하셨다. 우리의 원수들과 길에 숨어 기다리는 사람의 손아귀에서부터 우리를 빼내 주셨다.	Then we departed from the river of Ahava on the twelfth day of the first month, to go unto Jerusalem: and the hand of our God was upon us, and he delivered us from the hand of the enemy, and of such as lay in wait by the way.
32	우리는 예루살렘에 이르러 그곳에서 3일 동안 머물렀다.	And we came to Jerusalem, and abode there three days.
33	4일이 되었다. 우리는 우리 하나님의 집에서 은과 금과 그릇들의 무게를 달았다. 그것을 우리야의 아들 므레못 제사장과 그와 함께한 비느하스의 아들 엘르아살의 손에 넘겨주었다. 그들과 함께 예수아의 아들 요사밧과 빈누이의 아들 노아댜가 있었는데 이 사람들은 레위 사람이었다.	Now on the fourth day was the silver and the gold and the vessels weighed in the house of our God by the hand of Meremoth the son of Uriah the priest; and with him was Eleazar the son of Phinehas; and with them was Jozabad the son of Jeshua, and Noadiah the son of Binnui, Levites;
34	모든 것을 세고 모든 것의 무게를 달았다. 이때 무게가 모두 기록되었다.	By number and by weight of every one: and all the weight was written at that time.
35	붙잡혀 있다가 돌아온, 사로잡혔던 사람들의 자손이 이스라엘의 하나님께 다태우는제물(번제물)을 드렸다. 여기에는 온 이스라엘을 위해 바치는 수소 열두 마리가 있었다. 또한 숫양 96마리, 어린양 77마리, 죄없애는제물(속죄제물) 숫염소 열두 마리까지 모두 여호와께 드리는 다태우는제물(번제물)이었다.	Also the children of those that had been carried away, which were come out of the captivity, offered burnt offerings unto the God of Israel, twelve bullocks for all Israel, ninety and six rams, seventy and seven lambs, twelve he goats for a sin offering: all this was a burnt offering unto the Lord.
36	그들은 임금의 파견 행정관들과 유프라테스강 건너편 지역의 총독들에게 임금이 내린 명령을 알려 주었다. 그러자 그들은 백성과 하나님의 집에 도움을 주었다.	And they delivered the king’s commissions unto the king’s lieutenants, and to the governors on this side the river: and they furthered the people, and the house of God.
