절	새한글성경 (2024)	King James Version
1	임금과 하만은 에스더 왕비와 함께 잔치를 즐기러 왔다.	So the king and Haman came to banquet with Esther the queen.
2	임금은 둘째 날에도 포도주를 마시면서 에스더에게 말했다. “그대가 갖고 싶은 것이 무엇이오, 에스더 왕비? 그대에게 해 주겠소. 바라는 것이 무엇이오? 나라의 절반이라도 해 주겠소.”	And the king said again unto Esther on the second day at the banquet of wine, What is thy petition, queen Esther? and it shall be granted thee: and what is thy request? and it shall be performed, even to the half of the kingdom.
3	에스더 왕비가 대답했다. “임금님이 저를 잘 봐주신다면, 임금님, 임금님이 괜찮으시다면, 저의 목숨을 저에게 주십시오. 그것이 제가 갖고 싶은 것입니다. 저의 민족을 저에게 주세요. 그것이 제가 바라는 것입니다.	Then Esther the queen answered and said, If I have found favour in thy sight, O king, and if it please the king, let my life be given me at my petition, and my people at my request:
4	저와 저의 민족이 팔렸어요. 저희를 없애고 죽이고 끝장내려 해요. 저희가 남녀종으로 팔렸다면, 저는 가만히 있었을 거예요. 그 정도 힘든 일로 임금님이 신경 쓰시게 하면 안 되니까요.”	For we are sold, I and my people, to be destroyed, to be slain, and to perish. But if we had been sold for bondmen and bondwomen, I had held my tongue, although the enemy could not countervail the king’s damage.
5	크세르크세스 임금이 에스더 왕비에게 말했다. “그 사람이 도대체 누구요? 그렇게 하려고 마음먹은 사람이 어디에 있소?”	Then the king Ahasuerus answered and said unto Esther the queen, Who is he, and where is he, that durst presume in his heart to do so?
6	에스더가 대답했다. “적이며 원수인 사람, 이 나쁜 사람 하만이에요!” 하만은 임금과 왕비 앞에서 파랗게 질렸다.	And Esther said, The adversary and enemy is this wicked Haman. Then Haman was afraid before the king and the queen.
7	임금은 화가 나서 포도주를 마시다 말고 일어나 왕궁 정원으로 나갔다. 하만은 그 자리에 서서 에스더 왕비에게 목숨을 살려 달라고 빌었다. 임금이 그에게 벌을 내리려고 벼르고 있음을 알았던 것이다.	And the king arising from the banquet of wine in his wrath went into the palace garden: and Haman stood up to make request for his life to Esther the queen; for he saw that there was evil determined against him by the king.
8	임금이 왕궁 정원에서 포도주를 마시던 곳으로 돌아왔다. 그때 하만은 에스더가 기대앉아 있는 침대 옆에 엎드려 있었다. 임금이 말했다. “나하고 같이 왕궁에 있으면서 왕비를 폭행하려고?” 임금의 입에서 이 말이 나오자 사람들이 하만의 얼굴을 감쌌다.	Then the king returned out of the palace garden into the place of the banquet of wine; and Haman was fallen upon the bed whereon Esther was. Then said the king, Will he force the queen also before me in the house? As the word went out of the king’s mouth, they covered Haman’s face.
9	임금 앞에서 일하는 왕궁 관리들 가운데 한 명인 하르보나가 말했다. “때마침 하만이 모르드개를 매달려고 만든 나무 기둥이 있습니다. 임금님께 도움이 되는 말을 했던 모르드개를 말입니다. 그것이 하만의 집에 세워져 있는데, 높이가 25미터입니다.” 그러자 임금이 말했다. “하만을 거기에다 매다시오.”	And Harbonah, one of the chamberlains, said before the king, Behold also, the gallows fifty cubits high, which Haman had made for Mordecai, who had spoken good for the king, standeth in the house of Haman. Then the king said, Hang him thereon.
10	사람들은 하만을 나무 기둥에 매달았다. 그것은 그가 모르드개를 매달려고 마련해 둔 것이었다. 그러자 임금의 화가 누그러졌다.	So they hanged Haman on the gallows that he had prepared for Mordecai. Then was the king’s wrath pacified.
