1	레바논의 삼나무 같던 이집트 (예언자) 열한째 해 셋째 달 첫째 날에 일어난 일입니다. 여호와의 말씀이 나에게 내려오는 일이 일어났습니다.	And it came to pass in the eleventh year, in the third month, in the first day of the month, that the word of the Lord came unto me, saying,
2	(하나님) “사람아, 이집트 임금 파라오와 그의 무리에게 말해 주어라! ‘너를 누구에 비길 수 있었을까, 너의 위대함을 두고 말한다면?	Son of man, speak unto Pharaoh king of Egypt, and to his multitude; Whom art thou like in thy greatness?
3	보라, 아시리아는 레바논의 삼나무(백향목), 가지가 아름답고 숲은 그늘을 드리운다. 키가 커서 구름 사이에 나무 꼭대기가 있었다.	Behold, the Assyrian was a cedar in Lebanon with fair branches, and with a shadowing shroud, and of an high stature; and his top was among the thick boughs.
4	물이 나무를 자라나게 했고 깊은 물이 그 키를 키웠다. 깊은 물은 자신의 강들을 나무 심은 곳 둘레로 흐르게 했고, 자신의 물줄기들을 들판의 온갖 나무에게로 내보냈다.	The waters made him great, the deep set him up on high with her rivers running round about his plants, and sent out her little rivers unto all the trees of the field.
5	이런 까닭에 나무의 키가 들의 모든 나무보다 더 높이 솟았다. 나무의 가지들이 굵어지고 어린 가지들이 길어졌다. 깊은 물이 내보낸 많은 물 덕분이었다.	Therefore his height was exalted above all the trees of the field, and his boughs were multiplied, and his branches became long because of the multitude of waters, when he shot forth.
6	나무의 가지들 속에는 하늘의 온갖 새가 둥지를 틀었고, 나무의 어린 가지들 아래에는 온갖 들짐승이 새끼를 낳았다. 나무의 그늘 밑에는 모든 큰 민족이 살았다.	All the fowls of heaven made their nests in his boughs, and under his branches did all the beasts of the field bring forth their young, and under his shadow dwelt all great nations.
7	나무는 크기가 대단하면서도 아름다웠고, 가지들이 길기도 했다. 나무의 뿌리가 많은 물에 닿아 있었기 때문이다.	Thus was he fair in his greatness, in the length of his branches: for his root was by great waters.
8	하나님의 동산 안 삼나무(백향목)들도 그 나무와 견줄 수 없었고, 전나무들도 그 나무의 가지들에 비길 수 없었다. 버즘나무들도 그 가지들 같지 않았다. 하나님의 동산 안 어떤 나무도 그 나무에 비길 수 없었다, 나무의 아름다움을 두고 보면!	The cedars in the garden of God could not hide him: the fir trees were not like his boughs, and the chesnut trees were not like his branches; nor any tree in the garden of God was like unto him in his beauty.
9	내가 그 나무를 아름답게 만들었고, 그 가지들을 많게 한 것이다. 하나님의 에덴동산 안에 있는 모든 나무가 그 나무를 시샘했다.’”	I have made him fair by the multitude of his branches: so that all the trees of Eden, that were in the garden of God, envied him.
10	(예언자) 이러므로 주 여호와께서 이렇게 말씀하셨습니다. (하나님) “그 나무의 키가 커서 나무 꼭대기를 구름 사이에 두었다. 그래서 그의 마음이 나무 높이만큼 높아졌다.	Therefore thus saith the Lord God; Because thou hast lifted up thyself in height, and he hath shot up his top among the thick boughs, and his heart is lifted up in his height;
11	그 때문에 내가 그를 민족들의 권력자의 손에 넘겨주었다. 이 권력자가 그를 그의 불의에 걸맞게 심하게 대할 것이다. 내가 그를 내쫓아 버렸다.	I have therefore delivered him into the hand of the mighty one of the heathen; he shall surely deal with him: I have driven him out for his wickedness.
12	낯선 사람들, 곧 민족들 가운데 난폭한 사람들이 그 나무를 베어 내던져 버렸다. 그래서 산들과 모든 골짜기에 나무의 가지들이 떨어졌다. 어린 가지들이 부러져서 그 땅의 모든 물길에 뒹굴었다. 땅의 모든 백성이 그 나무의 그늘에서부터 떠나갔고, 그 나무는 내던져 버렸다.	And strangers, the terrible of the nations, have cut him off, and have left him: upon the mountains and in all the valleys his branches are fallen, and his boughs are broken by all the rivers of the land; and all the people of the earth are gone down from his shadow, and have left him.
13	그 나무가 베어진 뒤 남은 둥치 위에는 하늘의 온갖 새가 살고, 나무의 어린 가지들에는 온갖 들짐승이 있을 것이다.	Upon his ruin shall all the fowls of the heaven remain, and all the beasts of the field shall be upon his branches:
14	이렇게 물가의 그 어떤 나무도 그 키가 높이 자라지 못하게 했고, 그 나무 꼭대기를 구름 사이에 두지 못하게 했다. 물을 빨아들이는 그 어떤 나무도 그들의 권력자에게까지 높게 서지 못할 것이다. 그 모든 것은 죽음으로, 지하 세계로 넘겨졌기 때문이다. 구덩이에 내려가는 인간들 가운데서 그럴 것이기 때문이다.”	To the end that none of all the trees by the waters exalt themselves for their height, neither shoot up their top among the thick boughs, neither their trees stand up in their height, all that drink water: for they are all delivered unto death, to the nether parts of the earth, in the midst of the children of men, with them that go down to the pit.
15	(예언자) 주 여호와께서 이렇게 말씀하셨습니다. (하나님) “그 나무가 스올(죽은 사람들의 나라)로 내려간 날에, 내가 그 나무를 두고 사람들이 슬퍼하게 했다. 내가 그 위를 깊은 물로 덮었고, 깊은 물의 강들을 막았다. 그러자 큰 물이 그쳤다. 내가 그 나무 때문에 레바논을 슬픔에 빠지게 만들었다. 들의 모든 나무가 그 나무 때문에 정신을 잃었다.	Thus saith the Lord God; In the day when he went down to the grave I caused a mourning: I covered the deep for him, and I restrained the floods thereof, and the great waters were stayed: and I caused Lebanon to mourn for him, and all the trees of the field fainted for him.
16	그 나무가 쓰러지는 소리에 내가 민족들을 떨게 만들었다. 내가 그 나무를 구덩이에 내려가는 사람들과 함께 스올(죽은 사람들의 나라)로 내려보낼 때였다. 그래서 에덴의 모든 나무가 지하 세계에서 위로를 받았다. 레바논의 빼어나고도 좋은 나무, 물을 빨아들이는 모든 나무가 그랬다.	I made the nations to shake at the sound of his fall, when I cast him down to hell with them that descend into the pit: and all the trees of Eden, the choice and best of Lebanon, all that drink water, shall be comforted in the nether parts of the earth.
17	그 나무들도 이 나무와 함께 스올(죽은 사람들의 나라)로 내려갔다. 칼에 찔려 죽은 사람들에게로 내려갔다. 곧 그 나무의 팔이 되어서 민족들 가운데서 그의 그늘 안에 살던 사람들에게로 내려갔다.	They also went down into hell with him unto them that be slain with the sword; and they that were his arm, that dwelt under his shadow in the midst of the heathen.
18	너를 에덴의 나무들 가운데 누구에 비길 수 있을까, 영광스러움과 위대함을 두고 말한다면? 네가 에덴의 나무들과 함께 지하 세계로 내려질 것이다. 할례받지 않은 사람들 가운데 네가 누울 것이다, 칼에 찔려 죽은 이들과 함께! 파라오와 그의 모든 무리가 바로 그 나무이다. ― 주 여호와의 말씀입니다. ―”	To whom art thou thus like in glory and in greatness among the trees of Eden? yet shalt thou be brought down with the trees of Eden unto the nether parts of the earth: thou shalt lie in the midst of the uncircumcised with them that be slain by the sword. This is Pharaoh and all his multitude, saith the Lord God.
