1	온 마음으로 여호와를 사랑하십시오 “여호와 그대들의 하나님이 그대들에게 가르쳐 주라고 말씀하신 명령과 규정들과 법령들은 이러합니다. 그대들이 요르단을 건너가 차지할 땅에서 실행해야 할 것들입니다.	Now these are the commandments, the statutes, and the judgments, which the Lord your God commanded to teach you, that ye might do them in the land whither ye go to possess it:
2	그대는 여호와 그대의 하나님을 두려워하여 그분의 모든 규정과 명령들을 다 지켜야 합니다. 내가 일러 주는 대로요. 그대뿐만 아니라 그대의 아들딸과 손자녀도 평생 그래야 합니다. 그러면 그대는 오래 살 것입니다.	That thou mightest fear the Lord thy God, to keep all his statutes and his commandments, which I command thee, thou, and thy son, and thy son’s son, all the days of thy life; and that thy days may be prolonged.
3	그대 이스라엘, 그대가 듣고 지켜 그대로 실행하면 잘될 것입니다. 그대들이 엄청나게 불어날 것입니다. 여호와 그대 조상들의 하나님이 그대에게 말씀하신 것처럼요. 젖이 흐르고 꿀이 있는 땅에서요.	Hear therefore, O Israel, and observe to do it; that it may be well with thee, and that ye may increase mightily, as the Lord God of thy fathers hath promised thee, in the land that floweth with milk and honey.
4	들으십시오, 그대 이스라엘! 여호와 우리 하나님은 여호와 한 분이십니다.	Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord:
5	여호와 그대의 하나님을 사랑하도록 하십시오. 온 마음과 온 정성과 온 힘으로요.	And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.
6	내가 오늘 그대에게 명령하는 이 말씀들을 그대의 마음에 담아 두도록 하십시오.	And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart:
7	그 말씀들을 그대의 아들과 딸에게도 거듭 일러 주도록 하십시오. 그대가 집에 머물든지 길을 가든지, 눕든지 일어서든지 늘 그렇게 하도록 하십시오.	And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.
8	그 말씀들을 증표로 만들어 그대의 손에 매도록 하십시오. 작은 상자로 만들어 그대의 이마 한가운데에 묶어 두도록 하십시오.	And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand, and they shall be as frontlets between thine eyes.
9	또 그대 집 문기둥과 성문에도 적어 두도록 하십시오.”	And thou shalt write them upon the posts of thy house, and on thy gates.
10	여호와를 잊지도, 시험하지도 마십시오 “여호와 그대의 하나님이 그대를 그 땅으로 이끌어 들이실 것입니다. 그대에게 주기로 그대의 조상들 곧 아브라함과 이삭과 야곱에게 굳게 약속하신 땅으로요. 그 땅에는 그대가 세우지 않은, 크고 좋은 도시들이 있습니다.	And it shall be, when the Lord thy God shall have brought thee into the land which he sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give thee great and goodly cities, which thou buildedst not,
11	그대가 채우지 않은, 온갖 좋은 것으로 가득 찬 집들이 있습니다. 그대가 파지 않은 우물도 여럿 있습니다. 그대가 심지 않은 포도나무와 올리브나무도 있어서, 실컷 먹을 수 있을 것입니다.	And houses full of all good things, which thou filledst not, and wells digged, which thou diggedst not, vineyards and olive trees, which thou plantedst not; when thou shalt have eaten and be full;
12	그럴 때 그대는 여호와를 잊어버리지 않도록 조심하십시오. 여호와는 이집트 땅 곧 노예살이하던 집에서 그대를 이끌어 내신 분이십니다.	Then beware lest thou forget the Lord, which brought thee forth out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage.
13	여호와 그대의 하나님을 두려워하도록 하십시오. 그분을 섬겨야 합니다. 맹세하는 것도 그분의 이름으로 하도록 하십시오.	Thou shalt fear the Lord thy God, and serve him, and shalt swear by his name.
14	그대를 둘러싼 여러 백성이 섬기는 다른 신들을 뒤따라가지 마십시오.	Ye shall not go after other gods, of the gods of the people which are round about you;
15	그대 가운데 계시는 여호와 그대의 하나님은 질투하는 신이십니다. 여호와 그대의 하나님이 노여움으로 불타올라서, 그대를 그 땅에서 뿌리 뽑아 버리시지 않도록 조심하십시오.	(For the Lord thy God is a jealous God among you) lest the anger of the Lord thy God be kindled against thee, and destroy thee from off the face of the earth.
16	여호와 그대들의 하나님을 시험하지 마십시오, 그대들이 맛사에서 시험한 것처럼요.	Ye shall not tempt the Lord your God, as ye tempted him in Massah.
17	여호와 그대들의 하나님의 명령들과, 그분이 명령해 주신 그분의 증언들과 규정들을 반드시 지켜야 합니다.	Ye shall diligently keep the commandments of the Lord your God, and his testimonies, and his statutes, which he hath commanded thee.
18	그대는 여호와 보시기에 올곧고 좋은 일을 하도록 하십시오. 그러면 그대가 잘될 것입니다. 여호와께서 그대의 조상들에게 굳게 약속하신 좋은 땅에 들어가 그 땅을 차지할 것입니다.	And thou shalt do that which is right and good in the sight of the Lord: that it may be well with thee, and that thou mayest go in and possess the good land which the Lord sware unto thy fathers,
19	그대의 모든 원수를 그대 앞에서 내쫓아 주실 것입니다. 여호와께서 말씀하신 대로 그렇게 해 주실 것입니다.”	To cast out all thine enemies from before thee, as the Lord hath spoken.
20	아들딸이 물으면 이렇게 대답하십시오 “나중에 그대의 아들딸이 그대에게 묻는다고 합시다. ‘여호와 우리 하나님이 어떤 증언들과 규정들과 법령들을 지키라고 하셨습니까?’	And when thy son asketh thee in time to come, saying, What mean the testimonies, and the statutes, and the judgments, which the Lord our God hath commanded you?
21	그러면 그대는 아들딸에게 이렇게 대답하도록 하십시오. ‘우리는 이집트에서 파라오의 노예들이었는데, 여호와께서 강한 손으로 우리를 이집트에서 이끌어 내셨어.	Then thou shalt say unto thy son, We were Pharaoh’s bondmen in Egypt; and the Lord brought us out of Egypt with a mighty hand:
22	여호와께서 증표들과 크고 무서운 기적들을 이집트에서 파라오와 그의 온 집에 보여 주셨어, 우리 눈앞에서.	And the Lord shewed signs and wonders, great and sore, upon Egypt, upon Pharaoh, and upon all his household, before our eyes:
23	우리를 거기에서 이끌어 내셨어. 우리를 이리로 데려다가, 우리 조상들에게 굳게 약속하신 땅을 우리에게 주려고 하신 거야.	And he brought us out from thence, that he might bring us in, to give us the land which he sware unto our fathers.
24	그러고는 여호와께서 우리에게 명령하여, 이 모든 규정을 실행하며 여호와 우리 하나님을 두려워하라고 하셨어. 그러면 평생에 우리가 잘되고 오늘 우리처럼 살아남는다고 하셨어.	And the Lord commanded us to do all these statutes, to fear the Lord our God, for our good always, that he might preserve us alive, as it is at this day.
25	우리가 의로울 거야, 우리가 조심하여 이 모든 명령을 여호와 우리 하나님 앞에서, 그분이 우리에게 명령하신 대로 실행하면.’”	And it shall be our righteousness, if we observe to do all these commandments before the Lord our God, as he hath commanded us.
