1	바산 임금 옥을 쳐부수었습니다 “우리는 방향을 바꾸어 바산 길로 올라갔습니다. 바산 임금 옥이 나와서 우리와 맞섰습니다. 에드레이에서 싸우려고, 온 백성을 거느리고 나왔습니다.	Then we turned, and went up the way to Bashan: and Og the king of Bashan came out against us, he and all his people, to battle at Edrei.
2	여호와께서 나에게 말씀하셨습니다. ‘그를 두려워하지 마라! 그와 그의 온 백성과 땅을 내가 너의 손에 넘겨주겠다. 그에게도, 헤스본에 살고 있던 아모리 임금 시혼에게 했던 대로 해라.’	And the Lord said unto me, Fear him not: for I will deliver him, and all his people, and his land, into thy hand; and thou shalt do unto him as thou didst unto Sihon king of the Amorites, which dwelt at Heshbon.
3	여호와 우리 하나님이 바산 임금 옥과 그의 온 백성도 우리 손에 넘겨주셨습니다. 그래서 우리가 그를 쳐서 한 사람도 살려 두지 않았습니다.	So the Lord our God delivered into our hands Og also, the king of Bashan, and all his people: and we smote him until none was left to him remaining.
4	그때 우리는 그의 도시들을 모두 점령했습니다. 바산에서 옥이 다스리던 나라의 아르곱 온 지역에 있는 60개 도시 가운데서, 우리가 빼앗지 못한 성읍이 하나도 없었습니다.	And we took all his cities at that time, there was not a city which we took not from them, threescore cities, all the region of Argob, the kingdom of Og in Bashan.
5	모두 높은 성벽과 겹성문과 문빗장으로 튼튼하게 만들어 놓은 도시들이었습니다. 그 밖에 성벽이 없는 마을도 매우 많았습니다.	All these cities were fenced with high walls, gates, and bars; beside unwalled towns a great many.
6	우리는 사람들을 완전히 없애 버렸습니다, 헤스본 임금 시혼에게 했던 것처럼요. 도시마다 남자와 여자와 아이를 완전히 없애 버렸습니다.	And we utterly destroyed them, as we did unto Sihon king of Heshbon, utterly destroying the men, women, and children, of every city.
7	집짐승 전부와 여러 도시에서 빼앗은 약탈물은 우리 것으로 삼았습니다.	But all the cattle, and the spoil of the cities, we took for a prey to ourselves.
8	그렇게 그때 우리는 요르단 건너편에 있는 아모리 사람들을 다스리던 두 임금의 손에서 땅을 빼앗았습니다. 아르논 마른시내에서부터 헤르몬산까지 이르는 땅이었습니다.”	And we took at that time out of the hand of the two kings of the Amorites the land that was on this side Jordan, from the river of Arnon unto mount Hermon;
9	시돈 사람들은 헤르몬을 시룐이라고 불렀고, 아모리 사람들은 스닐이라고 불렀다.	(Which Hermon the Sidonians call Sirion; and the Amorites call it Shenir;)
10	“고원 지대의 모든 도시와 온 길르앗과 온 바산을, 살가와 에드레이에 이르기까지 우리가 빼앗았습니다. 바산에서 옥이 다스리던 나라의 여러 도시였습니다.”	All the cities of the plain, and all Gilead, and all Bashan, unto Salchah and Edrei, cities of the kingdom of Og in Bashan.
11	남아 있던 라바 사람들 가운데서는 바산 임금 옥만 살아남았다. 보라, 그의 침대, 쇠 침대는 암몬 사람들의 랍바에 있지 않은가! 보통 자로 재면 길이가 4.5미터이고 너비가 2미터이다. ()	For only Og king of Bashan remained of the remnant of giants; behold, his bedstead was a bedstead of iron; is it not in Rabbath of the children of Ammon? nine cubits was the length thereof, and four cubits the breadth of it, after the cubit of a man.
12	요르단 동쪽의 땅을 나누어 주라 하셨습니다 “이 땅을 그때 우리가 차지했습니다. 아르논 마른시내 가장자리의 아로엘에서 시작하여 길르앗 산지 절반과 그 여러 도시를 내가 르우벤 사람들과 갓 사람들에게 주었습니다.	And this land, which we possessed at that time, from Aroer, which is by the river Arnon, and half mount Gilead, and the cities thereof, gave I unto the Reubenites and to the Gadites.
13	나머지 길르앗과 온 바산, 곧 옥의 나라는 므낫세 지파 절반에게 주었습니다.” 아르곱 온 지역 곧 온 바산을 사람들은 라바 사람들의 땅이라고 불렀다.	And the rest of Gilead, and all Bashan, being the kingdom of Og, gave I unto the half tribe of Manasseh; all the region of Argob, with all Bashan, which was called the land of giants.
14	므낫세의 아들 야일이 아르곱 온 지역을, 그술 사람들과 마아가 사람들의 경계에 이르기까지 빼앗았다. 그러고는 자신의 이름을 따라 바산을 하봇야일이라고 불렀다. 오늘까지 그렇게 통한다.	Jair the son of Manasseh took all the country of Argob unto the coasts of Geshuri and Maachathi; and called them after his own name, Bashan–havoth–jair, unto this day.
15	“그리고 마길에게는 내가 길르앗을 주었습니다.	And I gave Gilead unto Machir.
16	르우벤 사람들과 갓 사람들에게는 길르앗에서 시작하여 아르논 마른시내까지 이르는 땅을 주었습니다. 그 마른시내 가운데가 그 경계였지요. 또 얍복까지 이르는 땅을 주었습니다. 그 마른시내는 암몬 사람들의 경계였지요.	And unto the Reubenites and unto the Gadites I gave from Gilead even unto the river Arnon half the valley, and the border even unto the river Jabbok, which is the border of the children of Ammon;
17	또 아라바를 주었는데, 긴네렛에서부터 아라바 바다 곧 소금바다(사해)까지 이르도록 요르단을 경계로 삼았습니다. 동쪽으로는 비스가 기슭 아래에 이르는 지역이었습니다.	The plain also, and Jordan, and the coast thereof, from Chinnereth even unto the sea of the plain, even the salt sea, under Ashdoth–pisgah eastward.
18	내가 그대들에게 그때 명령했습니다. ‘여호와 그대들의 하나님이 이 땅을 그대들에게 주어 차지하게 하셨습니다. 용맹스러운 사람들은 모두 싸울 채비를 하고, 그대들의 형제자매인 이스라엘 사람들 앞에서 요르단을 건너가야 합니다.	And I commanded you at that time, saying, The Lord your God hath given you this land to possess it: ye shall pass over armed before your brethren the children of Israel, all that are meet for the war.
19	다만 여자들과 아이와 집짐승은 내가 그대들에게 준 여러 도시에 머물러 있어도 괜찮습니다. 그대들에게 집짐승이 많은 줄 잘 알고 있습니다.	But your wives, and your little ones, and your cattle, (for I know that ye have much cattle,) shall abide in your cities which I have given you;
20	여호와께서 그대들에게 해 주신 것처럼 그대들의 형제자매들도 마침내 편히 쉬게 해 주실 것입니다. 그리고 그들도 여호와 그대들의 하나님이 그들에게 주신 요르단 건너편에 있는 땅을 차지할 것입니다. 그런 다음에야 그대들은 내가 그대들에게 나누어 차지하게 한 땅으로 저마다 돌아갈 수 있습니다.’”	Until the Lord have given rest unto your brethren, as well as unto you, and until they also possess the land which the Lord your God hath given them beyond Jordan: and then shall ye return every man unto his possession, which I have given you.
21	여호수아를 격려해 주었습니다 “여호수아를 내가 격려해 주었습니다. 그때 내가 이렇게 말했습니다. ‘여호와 그대들의 하나님이 이 두 임금에게 하신 모든 것을 그대의 두 눈으로 똑똑히 보았네. 여호와께서는 그대가 지나가야 할 그 모든 나라에도 그렇게 하실 것이네.	And I commanded Joshua at that time, saying, Thine eyes have seen all that the Lord your God hath done unto these two kings: so shall the Lord do unto all the kingdoms whither thou passest.
22	그대들은 두려워하지 말게! 여호와 그대들의 하나님이 자네들을 위해 싸우실 것이니까.’”	Ye shall not fear them: for the Lord your God he shall fight for you.
23	나는 요르단을 건너지 못한다고 하셨습니다 “내가 여호와께 그때 간절히 기도했습니다.	And I besought the Lord at that time, saying,
24	‘주 여호와여, 주님은 주님의 종인 저에게 주님의 위대하심을, 또 주님의 강한 손을 보여 주기 시작하셨습니다. 하늘과 땅에서 어떤 신이 주님처럼 주님이 하신 일 곧 힘 있는 일을 해낼 수 있겠습니까?	O Lord God, thou hast begun to shew thy servant thy greatness, and thy mighty hand: for what God is there in heaven or in earth, that can do according to thy works, and according to thy might?
25	제발 제가 요르단을 건너가서 저 건너편에 있는 좋은 땅을 보게 해 주십시오! 좋은 산지와 레바논도 보게 해 주십시오.’라고요.	I pray thee, let me go over, and see the good land that is beyond Jordan, that goodly mountain, and Lebanon.
26	그런데 여호와께서는 그대들 때문에 저에게 화내시며, 저의 간청은 들어 주지 않으셨습니다. 여호와께서 저에게 대답하셨습니다. ‘그만하면 됐다. 더는 이 일로 나에게 말하지 마라.	But the Lord was wroth with me for your sakes, and would not hear me: and the Lord said unto me, Let it suffice thee; speak no more unto me of this matter.
27	비스가산 꼭대기에 올라가거라. 그러고는 너의 눈길을 돌려 서쪽과 북쪽과 남쪽과 동쪽을 둘러보아라! 너는 이 요르단을 건너가지 못할 것이다.	Get thee up into the top of Pisgah, and lift up thine eyes westward, and northward, and southward, and eastward, and behold it with thine eyes: for thou shalt not go over this Jordan.
28	여호수아에게 명령하여 그를 격려하고 강하게 만들어 주어라. 이 백성 앞에서 요르단을 건너갈 사람은 여호수아이기 때문이다. 바로 그가 백성에게, 네가 볼 그 땅을 차지하게 해 줄 것이다.’	But charge Joshua, and encourage him, and strengthen him: for he shall go over before this people, and he shall cause them to inherit the land which thou shalt see.
29	그래서 우리는 벳브올 맞은편 골짜기에 머물렀습니다.”	So we abode in the valley over against Beth–peor.
