1	여호와께서 하신 큰일을 보았습니다 “그대는 여호와 그대의 하나님을 사랑하도록 하십시오. 그분께 지켜야 할 것, 그분의 규정들, 그분의 법령들, 그분의 명령들을 평생 지켜야 합니다.	Therefore thou shalt love the Lord thy God, and keep his charge, and his statutes, and his judgments, and his commandments, alway.
2	오늘 그대들은 알아야 합니다. 그대들의 아들딸의 문제가 아닙니다. 그들은 여호와 그대들의 하나님의 훈육과 위대함과 강한 손과 펴신 팔을 알지 못하고 보지 못했습니다.	And know ye this day: for I speak not with your children which have not known, and which have not seen the chastisement of the Lord your God, his greatness, his mighty hand, and his stretched out arm,
3	이집트 한가운데서 이집트 임금 파라오와 그의 온 나라에 보여 주신 증표들과 하신 일들도 그렇습니다.	And his miracles, and his acts, which he did in the midst of Egypt unto Pharaoh the king of Egypt, and unto all his land;
4	이집트의 군대와 그 말과 전투수레들에게 하신 일도 그렇습니다. 그들이 그대들을 뒤쫓을 때, 여호와께서 홍해의 물을 그들 위로 흐르게 하여 모조리 죽게 하셨습니다. 그래서 오늘에 이르렀습니다.	And what he did unto the army of Egypt, unto their horses, and to their chariots; how he made the water of the Red sea to overflow them as they pursued after you, and how the Lord hath destroyed them unto this day;
5	그대들이 이곳에 오기까지 여호와께서 광야에서 그대들에게 해 주신 일도 그렇습니다.	And what he did unto you in the wilderness, until ye came into this place;
6	엘리압의 아들들이자 르우벤의 손자들인 다단과 아비람에게 하신 일도 그렇습니다. 온 이스라엘 한가운데서 땅이 입을 벌려 그들과 그들의 집과 천막과 그들을 뒤따르는 모든 것을 집어삼켰습니다.	And what he did unto Dathan and Abiram, the sons of Eliab, the son of Reuben: how the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed them up, and their households, and their tents, and all the substance that was in their possession, in the midst of all Israel:
7	그대들은 여호와께서 하신 큰일을 두 눈으로 모두 보았습니다.”	But your eyes have seen all the great acts of the Lord which he did.
8	들으면 복을, 듣지 않으면 저주를 받습니다 “내가 오늘 그대들에게 내리는 명령을, 그대들은 무엇이든 따르도록 하십시오. 그러면 그대들이 강해질 것입니다. 들어가서 그 땅을 차지하게 될 것입니다. 그대들이 건너가서 차지할 그 땅을요.	Therefore shall ye keep all the commandments which I command you this day, that ye may be strong, and go in and possess the land, whither ye go to possess it;
9	그리고 그 땅에서 오래 살 것입니다. 여호와께서 그들과 그 후손에게 주리라고 그대들의 조상들에게 굳게 약속하신 땅에서요. 그 땅은 젖이 흐르고 꿀이 있는 땅입니다.	And that ye may prolong your days in the land, which the Lord sware unto your fathers to give unto them and to their seed, a land that floweth with milk and honey.
10	그대가 들어가서 차지할 땅은 그대들이 빠져나온 이집트 땅과 같지 않습니다. 그 땅에서는 그대들이 씨를 뿌리고 나서, 채소밭에서 하는 것처럼 그대의 발로 물을 대야 했습니다.	For the land, whither thou goest in to possess it, is not as the land of Egypt, from whence ye came out, where thou sowedst thy seed, and wateredst it with thy foot, as a garden of herbs:
11	그대들이 건너가서 차지할 땅은 산과 골짜기가 있는 땅으로, 하늘에서 내리는 비가 젖어 드는 땅입니다.	But the land, whither ye go to possess it, is a land of hills and valleys, and drinketh water of the rain of heaven:
12	여호와 그대의 하나님이 보살피시는 땅입니다. 여호와 그대의 하나님이 늘 눈길을 두시는 땅입니다. 한 해의 시작부터 마지막까지요.	A land which the Lord thy God careth for: the eyes of the Lord thy God are always upon it, from the beginning of the year even unto the end of the year.
13	내가 오늘 그대들에게 알려 주는 여호와의 명령들을 그대들이 참으로 잘 따른다고 합시다. 그리하여 여호와 그대들의 하나님을 사랑하고 온 마음과 온 정성으로 섬긴다고 합시다.	And it shall come to pass, if ye shall hearken diligently unto my commandments which I command you this day, to love the Lord your God, and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul,
14	그러면 여호와께서 그대들의 땅에 이른 비와 늦은 비를 제때에 내려 주실 것입니다. 그대는 곡식과 포도주와 기름을 거두어들일 것입니다.	That I will give you the rain of your land in his due season, the first rain and the latter rain, that thou mayest gather in thy corn, and thy wine, and thine oil.
15	그대의 집짐승을 위해 밭에 풀이 나게 하실 것입니다. 그대는 실컷 먹을 것입니다.	And I will send grass in thy fields for thy cattle, that thou mayest eat and be full.
16	그대들은 조심하여 마음이 꼬임에 빠지지 않도록 하십시오. 그대들이 엇나가서 다른 신들을 섬기고 그들에게 엎드려 절하지 않도록 하십시오.	Take heed to yourselves, that your heart be not deceived, and ye turn aside, and serve other gods, and worship them;
17	그렇지 않으면 여호와께서 그대들을 향한 노여움으로 불타오르실 것입니다. 여호와께서 하늘을 닫으셔서 비가 내리지 않을 것이고, 땅은 열매를 내지 못할 것입니다. 그대들은 여호와께서 그대들에게 주실 좋은 땅에서 빨리 망할 것입니다.	And then the Lord’s wrath be kindled against you, and he shut up the heaven, that there be no rain, and that the land yield not her fruit; and lest ye perish quickly from off the good land which the Lord giveth you.
18	그대들은 나의 이 말씀들을 그대들의 마음과 가슴에 새기도록 하십시오. 증표가 되도록 그대들의 손에 매고, 작은 상자로 만들어 그대들의 이마 한가운데에 묶어 두고요.	Therefore shall ye lay up these my words in your heart and in your soul, and bind them for a sign upon your hand, that they may be as frontlets between your eyes.
19	아들딸에게 가르치고 그들에게 일러 주도록 하십시오. 그대가 집에 앉아 있을 때도 길을 걸어갈 때도 누워 있을 때도 일어날 때도요.	And ye shall teach them your children, speaking of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.
20	또 그대의 집 문기둥들과 그대의 성문들에도 적어 두도록 하십시오.	And thou shalt write them upon the door posts of thine house, and upon thy gates:
21	그러면 그대들과 그대들의 아들딸이 그 땅에서 오래 살 것입니다. 여호와께서 그대들의 조상들에게 주기로 굳게 약속하신 땅에서요. 땅 위의 하늘처럼 오래 살 것입니다.	That your days may be multiplied, and the days of your children, in the land which the Lord sware unto your fathers to give them, as the days of heaven upon the earth.
22	내가 그대들에게 알려 주는 이 명령을 그대들이 무엇이든 잘 지켜 그대로 실행한다고 합시다. 그래서 여호와 그대들의 하나님을 사랑하고 그분의 모든 길로 가고 그분께 붙어 있다고 합시다.	For if ye shall diligently keep all these commandments which I command you, to do them, to love the Lord your God, to walk in all his ways, and to cleave unto him;
23	그러면 여호와께서 이 모든 민족을 그대들 앞에서 몰아내 주실 것입니다. 그대들은 그대들보다 더 크고 강한 민족들의 땅을 차지할 것입니다.	Then will the Lord drive out all these nations from before you, and ye shall possess greater nations and mightier than yourselves.
24	그대들이 발바닥으로 밟는 곳마다 그대들의 소유가 될 것입니다. 광야에서부터 레바논까지, 유프라테스강에서부터 지중해까지 그대들의 땅 경계가 될 것입니다.	Every place whereon the soles of your feet shall tread shall be yours: from the wilderness and Lebanon, from the river, the river Euphrates, even unto the uttermost sea shall your coast be.
25	어떤 사람도 그대들의 앞을 막아서지 못할 것입니다. 그대들이 밟는 온 땅에서 사람들이 그대들을 무서워하고 두려워하도록 여호와 그대들의 하나님이 해 주실 것입니다. 그분이 그대들에게 말씀하신 대로 될 것입니다.	There shall no man be able to stand before you: for the Lord your God shall lay the fear of you and the dread of you upon all the land that ye shall tread upon, as he hath said unto you.
26	보세요, 오늘 내가 그대들 앞에 복과 저주를 둡니다.	Behold, I set before you this day a blessing and a curse;
27	내가 오늘 그대들에게 알려 주는, 여호와 그대들의 하나님의 명령들을 따르면, 복을 받을 것입니다.	A blessing, if ye obey the commandments of the Lord your God, which I command you this day:
28	그렇지만 여호와 그대들의 하나님의 명령들을 그대들이 따르지 않는다고 합시다. 내가 오늘 그대들에게 알려 주는 길에서 벗어나 그대들이 알지 못하는 다른 신들을 뒤쫓아 간다고 합시다. 그러면 저주를 받을 것입니다.	And a curse, if ye will not obey the commandments of the Lord your God, but turn aside out of the way which I command you this day, to go after other gods, which ye have not known.
29	그대가 들어가서 차지할 땅으로 여호와 그대의 하나님이 그대를 데려다주실 것입니다. 그때 그대가 그리심산에서는 축복의 말을, 에발산에서는 저주의 말을 하도록 하십시오.	And it shall come to pass, when the Lord thy God hath brought thee in unto the land whither thou goest to possess it, that thou shalt put the blessing upon mount Gerizim, and the curse upon mount Ebal.
30	이 두 산은 요르단 건너편, 해 지는 길 뒤쪽, 가나안 사람들의 땅에 있지 않습니까? 그들은 모레의 큰 참나무 곁, 길갈 맞은편의 아라바에 살고 있습니다.	Are they not on the other side Jordan, by the way where the sun goeth down, in the land of the Canaanites, which dwell in the champaign over against Gilgal, beside the plains of Moreh?
31	그대들은 요르단을 건너갈 것입니다. 여호와 그대들의 하나님이 그대들에게 주실 땅으로 들어가서 그 땅을 차지하려고요. 그래서 그대들이 그 땅을 차지하고 그곳에서 살 것입니다.	For ye shall pass over Jordan to go in to possess the land which the Lord your God giveth you, and ye shall possess it, and dwell therein.
32	그때 그대들은 모든 규정과 법령들을 지키고 실행하십시오. 내가 오늘 그대들 앞에서 알려 주는 것들을요.”	And ye shall observe to do all the statutes and judgments which I set before you this day.
