1	바울이 마케도니아와 그리스를 거쳐서 트로아스로 돌아가다 소란이 멈춘 뒤에 바울은 제자들을 불러서 격려했다. 그러고는 작별 인사를 하고 떠나 마케도니아로 갔다.	And after the uproar was ceased, Paul called unto him the disciples, and embraced them, and departed for to go into Macedonia.
2	그쪽 지방을 두루 다니면서 많은 말로 사람들을 격려한 뒤에 그리스에 다다랐다.	And when he had gone over those parts, and had given them much exhortation, he came into Greece,
3	그리스에서 3개월을 보냈다. 그는 배를 타고 시리아로 막 가려는 참이었다. 이때 유대아 사람들이 나쁜 계획을 꾸몄다. 그래서 바울은 마케도니아를 거쳐서 돌아가기로 결정했다.	And there abode three months. And when the Jews laid wait for him, as he was about to sail into Syria, he purposed to return through Macedonia.
4	바울을 따라 함께 가는 사람으로는 소바더가 있었다. 부로의 아들로 베뢰아 사람이었다. 테살로니키 사람 가운데서 아리스타르코스와 세쿤두스, 더베 사람 가이우스 그리고 디모데, 속주 아시아 사람들인 두기고와 트로피모스도 함께했다.	And there accompanied him into Asia Sopater of Berea; and of the Thessalonians, Aristarchus and Secundus; and Gaius of Derbe, and Timotheus; and of Asia, Tychicus and Trophimus.
5	이 사람들은 우리보다 먼저 가서 트로아스에서 기다리고 있었다.	These going before tarried for us at Troas.
6	우리 자신들은 누룩없는명절(무교절)이 지난 뒤에 필리피에서 배 타고 떠나 5일 만에 트로아스에 이르러 그들한테로 갔다. 거기서 7일을 보냈다.	And we sailed away from Philippi after the days of unleavened bread, and came unto them to Troas in five days; where we abode seven days.
7	트로아스에서 유두고가 죽었다가 살아나다 한 주간의 첫날에 우리가 빵을 떼려고 함께 모였다. 이때 바울은 그들과 의견을 주고받으며 가르쳤다. 다음날 떠나려는 참이었기 때문에, 말씀을 한밤중까지 길게 이어 가고 있었다.	And upon the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul preached unto them, ready to depart on the morrow; and continued his speech until midnight.
8	우리가 함께 모여 있는 위층 방에는 등불이 꽤 많이 켜져 있었다.	And there were many lights in the upper chamber, where they were gathered together.
9	한편 유두고라는 이름을 가진 어떤 젊은이가 창턱에 앉아 있다가 깊은 잠에 빠졌다. 바울이 아주 오랜 시간 의견을 주고받으며 가르쳤기 때문이다. 잠에 눌려서 유두고는 3층에서 아래로 떨어졌다. 잡아 일으켜 보니 죽어 있었다.	And there sat in a window a certain young man named Eutychus, being fallen into a deep sleep: and as Paul was long preaching, he sunk down with sleep, and fell down from the third loft, and was taken up dead.
10	그러자 바울이 내려가서 그 젊은이 위로 급히 몸을 구부렸다. 그러고는 감싸 안고 말했다. “수선 떨지 마세요. 그의 목숨이 붙어 있습니다.”	And Paul went down, and fell on him, and embracing him said, Trouble not yourselves; for his life is in him.
11	바울은 다시 올라가서 빵을 떼고, 먹고, 동틀 때까지 그들과 충분히 대화를 나누었다. 이렇게 하고 떠나갔다.	When he therefore was come up again, and had broken bread, and eaten, and talked a long while, even till break of day, so he departed.
12	사람들은 그 아이를 살아난 채로 데려갔다. 그리고 이루 다 헤아릴 수 없는 위로를 받았다.	And they brought the young man alive, and were not a little comforted.
13	바울 일행이 트로아스에서 밀레토스로 가다 우리는, 먼저 출발해서 배를 타고 앗소로 갔다. 거기서 바울을 배에 맞아들일 계획이었다. 바울이 그렇게 정해 주었기 때문이다. 바울 자신은 걸어서 갈 참이었던 것이다.	And we went before to ship, and sailed unto Assos, there intending to take in Paul: for so had he appointed, minding himself to go afoot.
14	바울이 앗소에서 우리와 만났을 때, 우리는 그를 배에 맞아들여서 미틸레네로 갔다.	And when he met with us at Assos, we took him in, and came to Mitylene.
15	거기서 배로 떠나 다음날 키오스 맞은편에 닿았다. 이튿날 우리는 사모스로 건너갔다. 그다음날 밀레토스로 갔다.	And we sailed thence, and came the next day over against Chios; and the next day we arrived at Samos, and tarried at Trogyllium; and the next day we came to Miletus.
16	바울이 에페수스를 지나쳐서 항해하기로 결정해 두었기 때문이었다. 속주 아시아에서 시간을 끌게 되는 일이 없도록 하기 위해서였다. 할 수만 있으면 바울은 오순절 날 예루살렘에 도착하려고 서둘렀던 것이다.	For Paul had determined to sail by Ephesus, because he would not spend the time in Asia: for he hasted, if it were possible for him, to be at Jerusalem the day of Pentecost.
17	바울이 밀레토스에서 에페수스 장로들에게 마지막 설교를 하다 밀레토스에서 바울이 에페수스로 사람을 보내어 교회의 장로들을 불렀다.	And from Miletus he sent to Ephesus, and called the elders of the church.
18	그들이 바울한테 왔을 때 바울이 그들에게 말했다. “여러분이야말로 내가 속주 아시아에 발을 디딘 첫날부터 여러분과 더불어 줄곧 어떻게 지냈는지를 익히 알고 계십니다.	And when they were come to him, he said unto them, Ye know, from the first day that I came into Asia, after what manner I have been with you at all seasons,
19	나는 주님의 종이 되어 섬겼습니다. 완전히 낮은 자세로 눈물을 흘리면서요. 또 유대아 사람들이 나쁜 계획을 꾸몄을 때 닥쳐온 시험을 견뎌 냈습니다.	Serving the Lord with all humility of mind, and with many tears, and temptations, which befell me by the lying in wait of the Jews:
20	도움이 될 만한 것 가운데 움츠러들어 여러분에게 알려 드리지 않거나 가르쳐 드리지 않은 것이 하나도 없습니다. 일반 사람들 앞에서든 여러분 집집에서든 말입니다.	And how I kept back nothing that was profitable unto you, but have shewed you, and have taught you publickly, and from house to house,
21	유대아 사람들한테도 그리스 사람들한테도 힘껏 증언하기를, 회개하고 하나님께로 돌아오라고 또 우리 주 예수님을 믿으라고 했습니다.	Testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.
22	이제 보세요, 나는, 성령님에 붙들린 채로 예루살렘으로 갑니다. 거기서 내가 맞닥뜨릴 일은 알지 못합니다.	And now, behold, I go bound in the spirit unto Jerusalem, not knowing the things that shall befall me there:
23	다만 성령님이 모든 도시에서 나에게 엄숙히 증언하여 말씀하시기를, 투옥과 핍박이 나를 기다리고 있다고 합니다.	Save that the Holy Ghost witnesseth in every city, saying that bonds and afflictions abide me.
24	그러나 나는 나 자신을 위해서는 내 목숨을 조금도 귀하게 여기지 않습니다. 나의 달음질과 주 예수님께 받은 임무, 곧 하나님의 은혜의 복음을 힘써 증언하는 것을 끝마칠 수만 있다면요.	But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.
25	이제 보세요, 나는 알고 있습니다. 여러분이 내 얼굴을 더는 보지 못할 겁니다, 여러분 모두가요. 한때는 내가 여러분 가운데서 두루 다니며 그 나라를 선포했었는데 말입니다.	And now, behold, I know that ye all, among whom I have gone preaching the kingdom of God, shall see my face no more.
26	그래서 나는 여러분에게 오늘 이 시간 증언합니다. 누군가를 잃어버리게 되더라도 내 탓은 아닙니다!	Wherefore I take you to record this day, that I am pure from the blood of all men.
27	움츠러들지 않고 하나님의 뜻을 여러분에게 다 전했으니까요.	For I have not shunned to declare unto you all the counsel of God.
28	여러분 자신들과 온 양 떼에 주의를 기울이세요. 성령님이 여러분을 양 떼 가운데 감독으로 세워서 하나님께 속한 교회를 보살피게 했습니다. 자신의 피를 통해서 자신의 것으로 만드신 교회를 말이지요.	Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.
29	나는 알고 있습니다. 내가 떠난 뒤에 사나운 이리들이 여러분 가운데로 들어와서 양 떼를 아껴 주지 않을 겁니다.	For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock.
30	여러분 자신들 가운데서도 사람들이 일어나서 뒤틀린 것들을 말할 겁니다. 제자들을 자기들 뒤로 빼내려고요.	Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them.
31	그러므로 깨어 있으세요! 내가 3년 동안 밤낮으로 쉬지 않고 눈물을 흘리며 한 사람 한 사람 타일러 조심시킨 것을 기억하세요.	Therefore watch, and remember, that by the space of three years I ceased not to warn every one night and day with tears.
32	이제 나는 여러분을 하나님과 하나님의 은혜의 말씀에 맡깁니다. 그 말씀이 여러분을 든든히 세울 수 있고, 거룩하게 된 모든 사람들 가운데서 유산을 물려받게 해 줄 수 있습니다.	And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified.
33	나는 어느 누구의 은이나 금이나 옷을 넘보지 않았습니다.	I have coveted no man’s silver, or gold, or apparel.
34	여러분 자신들이 아시다시피, 나의 필요를 위해 또 나와 함께한 사람들을 위해 나는 이 두 손으로 일했습니다.	Yea, ye yourselves know, that these hands have ministered unto my necessities, and to them that were with me.
35	모든 면에서 나는 여러분에게 본을 보였습니다. 우리는 이처럼 힘들여 일해서 약한 사람들을 도와주어야만 합니다. 주 예수님의 말씀을 기억해야만 합니다. 주님이 말씀하시기를 ‘주는 것이 받는 것보다 더 복 있다.’라고 하셨습니다.”	I have shewed you all things, how that so labouring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.
36	이런 것들을 말하고서 바울은 무릎을 꿇고 그들 모두와 함께 기도했다.	And when he had thus spoken, he kneeled down, and prayed with them all.
37	모두가 실컷 울었다. 그러고는 바울의 목을 부둥켜안고 다정하게 입을 맞추었다.	And they all wept sore, and fell on Paul’s neck, and kissed him,
38	그들이 괴로웠던 것은 무엇보다도 바울이 한 말 때문이었다. 머지않아 그들이 더는 자기 얼굴을 보지 못하게 될 것이라고 했던 것이다. 마침내 그들은 배에까지 바울을 바래다주었다.	Sorrowing most of all for the words which he spake, that they should see his face no more. And they accompanied him unto the ship.
