1	단단히 한 약속에 관한 규정 모세가 이스라엘 사람들의 지파 어른들에게 말했다. “여호와께서 명령하신 말씀은 이러합니다.	And Moses spake unto the heads of the tribes concerning the children of Israel, saying, This is the thing which the Lord hath commanded.
2	‘남자가 여호와에게 단단히 약속하거나 맹세하며 스스로 무엇을 하지 않기로 했다고 하자. 그러면 자기가 한 말을 어기지 말아야 한다. 자기 입에서 나온 말 그대로 해야 한다.	If a man vow a vow unto the Lord, or swear an oath to bind his soul with a bond; he shall not break his word, he shall do according to all that proceedeth out of his mouth.
3	여자가 어린 시절에 아버지 집에 머물면서 여호와에게 단단히 약속하며 스스로 무엇을 하지 않기로 했다고 하자.	If a woman also vow a vow unto the Lord, and bind herself by a bond, being in her father’s house in her youth;
4	딸이 단단히 약속하며 스스로 하지 않기로 한 이야기를 아버지가 듣고도 딸에게 아무 말도 하지 않았다고 하자. 그러면 딸은 자기가 단단히 한 약속을 다 지켜야 하고, 스스로 하지 않기로 한 것도 다 지켜야 한다.	And her father hear her vow, and her bond wherewith she hath bound her soul, and her father shall hold his peace at her: then all her vows shall stand, and every bond wherewith she hath bound her soul shall stand.
5	그러나 무엇이든 딸이 단단히 약속하거나 스스로 하지 않기로 한 것을 아버지가 들은 날에 막았다면, 그런 약속은 지키지 않아도 괜찮다. 아버지가 막은 것이므로, 여호와가 그 딸을 용서할 것이다.	But if her father disallow her in the day that he heareth; not any of her vows, or of her bonds wherewith she hath bound her soul, shall stand: and the Lord shall forgive her, because her father disallowed her.
6	여자가 스스로 단단히 약속하거나 스스로 무엇을 하지 않기로 했다고 함부로 말한 뒤에, 한 남자의 아내가 되었다고 하자.	And if she had at all an husband, when she vowed, or uttered ought out of her lips, wherewith she bound her soul;
7	남편이 그 말을 듣고서 들은 그날에 아내에게 아무 말도 하지 않았다고 하자. 그러면 여자는 자기가 단단히 한 약속도 지키고 스스로 하지 않기로 한 것도 지켜야 한다.	And her husband heard it, and held his peace at her in the day that he heard it: then her vows shall stand, and her bonds wherewith she bound her soul shall stand.
8	남편이 그 이야기를 들은 날에 그것을 막으려 한다고 하자. 그러면 남편은 아내가 스스로 단단히 약속하여 무엇을 하지 않기로 했다고 함부로 말한 것을 없던 일로 만들 수 있다. 여호와가 그 여자를 용서할 것이다.	But if her husband disallowed her on the day that he heard it; then he shall make her vow which she vowed, and that which she uttered with her lips, wherewith she bound her soul, of none effect: and the Lord shall forgive her.
9	남편 여읜 여자나 쫓겨난 여자가 단단히 한 약속이나 스스로 하지 않기로 한 것은 지켜야 한다.	But every vow of a widow, and of her that is divorced, wherewith they have bound their souls, shall stand against her.
10	남편의 집에서 단단히 약속하거나 스스로 무엇을 하지 않기로 맹세한다고 하자.	And if she vowed in her husband’s house, or bound her soul by a bond with an oath;
11	남편이 듣고 아무 말도 하지 않고 막지도 않으면, 여자는 자기가 단단히 한 약속을 다 지켜야 한다. 스스로 하지 않기로 한 것도 다 지켜야 한다.	And her husband heard it, and held his peace at her, and disallowed her not: then all her vows shall stand, and every bond wherewith she bound her soul shall stand.
12	그러나 남편이 들은 날에 그 약속을 없던 일로 만든다고 하자. 그러면 여자는 자기 입으로 단단히 약속한 것이든 스스로 하지 않기로 한 것이든 모두 지키지 않아도 괜찮다. 남편이 그것을 없던 일로 만들었으므로, 여호와가 그 여자를 용서할 것이다.	But if her husband hath utterly made them void on the day he heard them; then whatsoever proceeded out of her lips concerning her vows, or concerning the bond of her soul, shall not stand: her husband hath made them void; and the Lord shall forgive her.
13	여자가 단단히 한 약속이나 스스로 무엇을 하지 않고 자기 욕구를 억누르기로 단단히 약속한 것이 있다고 하자. 그것이 무엇이든 남편이 인정할 수도 있고, 남편이 그것을 없던 일로 만들 수도 있다.	Every vow, and every binding oath to afflict the soul, her husband may establish it, or her husband may make it void.
14	남편이 다음날까지도 아내에게 아무 말도 하지 않으면, 아내가 단단히 한 약속이나 스스로 하지 않기로 한 것을 다 지키게 하려는 것이다. 그 이야기를 들은 날에 아내에게 아무런 말도 하지 않았으므로 그것을 지키게 하려 한 것이다.	But if her husband altogether hold his peace at her from day to day; then he establisheth all her vows, or all her bonds, which are upon her: he confirmeth them, because he held his peace at her in the day that he heard them.
15	그 이야기를 들은 뒤에 얼마 지나서 그 약속을 없던 일로 만들려 한다면, 아내의 잘못을 책임져야 한다.	But if he shall any ways make them void after that he hath heard them; then he shall bear her iniquity.
16	이것은 여호와가 모세에게 전하도록 명령하신 규정으로, 남편과 아내 사이에 관한 것이다. 또 여자가 어린 시절에 아버지의 집에 있을 때, 아버지와 딸 사이에 관한 것이다.’”	These are the statutes, which the Lord commanded Moses, between a man and his wife, between the father and his daughter, being yet in her youth in her father’s house.
