1	시나이 광야에서 군대에 갈 만한 사람을 조사하다 여호와께서 모세에게 시나이 광야에서 말씀하셨다. 만남의 천막에서였다. 이스라엘 사람들이 이집트 땅에서 빠져나온 이듬해 둘째 달 첫째 날이었다.	And the Lord spake unto Moses in the wilderness of Sinai, in the tabernacle of the congregation, on the first day of the second month, in the second year after they were come out of the land of Egypt, saying,
2	“너희는 이스라엘 사람들의 온 무리가 얼마나 되는지 가문별로, 아버지 쪽 집안별로 머릿수를 세어 보아라. 이름의 수에 맞추어 모든 남자를 그 머릿수대로 세어 보아라.	Take ye the sum of all the congregation of the children of Israel, after their families, by the house of their fathers, with the number of their names, every male by their polls;
3	20세 이상 남자 가운데서 군대에 갈 만한 사람을 이스라엘에서 모두 조사하여 그들을 부대로 나누어라. 너와 아론이 함께 조사하여라.	From twenty years old and upward, all that are able to go forth to war in Israel: thou and Aaron shall number them by their armies.
4	지파마다 아버지 쪽 집안 어른이 한 사람씩 너희와 함께하게 하여라.	And with you there shall be a man of every tribe; every one head of the house of his fathers.
5	너희와 함께할 어른들의 이름은 이러하다. 르우벤 지파의 어른은 스데울의 아들 엘리술이다.	And these are the names of the men that shall stand with you: of the tribe of Reuben; Elizur the son of Shedeur.
6	시므온 지파의 어른은 수리삿대의 아들 슬루미엘이다.	Of Simeon; Shelumiel the son of Zurishaddai.
7	유다 지파의 어른은 암미나답의 아들 나흐손이다.	Of Judah; Nahshon the son of Amminadab.
8	잇사갈 지파의 어른은 수알의 아들 느다넬이다.	Of Issachar; Nethaneel the son of Zuar.
9	스불론 지파의 어른은 헬론의 아들 엘리압이다.	Of Zebulun; Eliab the son of Helon.
10	요셉 후손 가운데서 에브라임 지파의 어른은 암미훗의 아들 엘리사마이고, 므낫세 지파의 어른은 브다술의 아들 가말리엘이다.	Of the children of Joseph: of Ephraim; Elishama the son of Ammihud: of Manasseh; Gamaliel the son of Pedahzur.
11	베냐민 지파의 어른은 기드오니의 아들 아비단이다.	Of Benjamin; Abidan the son of Gideoni.
12	단 지파의 어른은 암미삿대의 아들 아히에셀이다.	Of Dan; Ahiezer the son of Ammishaddai.
13	아셀 지파의 어른은 오그란의 아들 바기엘이다.	Of Asher; Pagiel the son of Ocran.
14	갓 지파의 어른은 드우엘의 아들 엘리아삽이다.	Of Gad; Eliasaph the son of Deuel.
15	납달리 지파의 어른은 에난의 아들 아히라이다.”	Of Naphtali; Ahira the son of Enan.
16	이들이 이스라엘 온 무리 가운데서 뽑힌 아버지 쪽 지파의 우두머리들로, 이스라엘 여러 가문의 어른들이다.	These were the renowned of the congregation, princes of the tribes of their fathers, heads of thousands in Israel.
17	모세와 아론은 이름이 불린 이 사람들을 맞아들였다.	And Moses and Aaron took these men which are expressed by their names:
18	둘째 달 첫째 날에는 온 무리를 불러 모았다. 그들은 20세 이상 남자들의 명수를 헤아려 가문을 두고 아버지 쪽 집안별 머릿수대로 적어 넣었다.	And they assembled all the congregation together on the first day of the second month, and they declared their pedigrees after their families, by the house of their fathers, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, by their polls.
19	여호와께서 모세에게 명령하신 대로 그가 시나이 광야에서 사람들의 수를 조사했다.	As the Lord commanded Moses, so he numbered them in the wilderness of Sinai.
20	이스라엘의 맏아들인 르우벤의 후손으로 태어난 남자들을 가문별로, 아버지 쪽 집안별로 조사했다. 20세 이상 남자 가운데서 군대에 갈 만한 모든 사람의 명수를 머릿수대로 조사했다.	And the children of Reuben, Israel’s eldest son, by their generations, after their families, by the house of their fathers, according to the number of the names, by their polls, every male from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war;
21	르우벤 지파에서 조사된 사람은 46,500명이었다.	Those that were numbered of them, even of the tribe of Reuben, were forty and six thousand and five hundred.
22	시므온의 후손으로 태어난 남자들을 가문별로, 아버지 쪽 집안별로 조사했다. 20세 이상 남자 가운데서 군대에 갈 만한 모든 사람의 명수를 머릿수대로 조사했다.	Of the children of Simeon, by their generations, after their families, by the house of their fathers, those that were numbered of them, according to the number of the names, by their polls, every male from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war;
23	시므온 지파에서 조사된 사람은 59,300명이었다.	Those that were numbered of them, even of the tribe of Simeon, were fifty and nine thousand and three hundred.
24	갓의 후손으로 태어난 남자들을 가문별로, 아버지 쪽 집안별로 조사했다. 20세 이상 남자 가운데서 군대에 갈 만한 모든 사람의 명수를 조사했다.	Of the children of Gad, by their generations, after their families, by the house of their fathers, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war;
25	갓 지파에서 조사된 사람은 45,650명이었다.	Those that were numbered of them, even of the tribe of Gad, were forty and five thousand six hundred and fifty.
26	유다의 후손으로 태어난 남자들을 가문별로, 아버지 쪽 집안별로 조사했다. 20세 이상 남자 가운데서 군대에 갈 만한 모든 사람의 명수를 조사했다.	Of the children of Judah, by their generations, after their families, by the house of their fathers, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war;
27	유다 지파에서 조사된 사람은 74,600명이었다.	Those that were numbered of them, even of the tribe of Judah, were threescore and fourteen thousand and six hundred.
28	잇사갈의 후손으로 태어난 남자들을 가문별로, 아버지 쪽 집안별로 조사했다. 20세 이상 남자 가운데서 군대에 갈 만한 모든 사람의 명수를 조사했다.	Of the children of Issachar, by their generations, after their families, by the house of their fathers, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war;
29	잇사갈 지파에서 조사된 사람은 54,400명이었다.	Those that were numbered of them, even of the tribe of Issachar, were fifty and four thousand and four hundred.
30	스불론의 후손으로 태어난 남자들을 가문별로, 아버지 쪽 집안별로 조사했다. 20세 이상 남자 가운데서 군대에 갈 만한 모든 사람의 명수를 조사했다.	Of the children of Zebulun, by their generations, after their families, by the house of their fathers, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war;
31	스불론 지파에서 조사된 사람은 57,400명이었다.	Those that were numbered of them, even of the tribe of Zebulun, were fifty and seven thousand and four hundred.
32	요셉의 아들 가운데서 에브라임의 후손으로 태어난 남자들을 가문별로, 아버지 쪽 집안별로 조사했다. 20세 이상 남자 가운데서 군대에 갈 만한 모든 사람의 명수를 조사했다.	Of the children of Joseph, namely, of the children of Ephraim, by their generations, after their families, by the house of their fathers, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war;
33	에브라임 지파에서 조사된 사람은 40,500명이었다.	Those that were numbered of them, even of the tribe of Ephraim, were forty thousand and five hundred.
34	므낫세의 후손으로 태어난 남자들을 가문별로, 아버지 쪽 집안별로 조사했다. 20세 이상 남자 가운데서 군대에 갈 만한 모든 사람의 명수를 조사했다.	Of the children of Manasseh, by their generations, after their families, by the house of their fathers, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war;
35	므낫세 지파에서 조사된 사람은 32,200명이었다.	Those that were numbered of them, even of the tribe of Manasseh, were thirty and two thousand and two hundred.
36	베냐민의 후손으로 태어난 남자들을 가문별로, 아버지 쪽 집안별로 조사했다. 20세 이상 남자 가운데서 군대에 갈 만한 모든 사람의 명수를 조사했다.	Of the children of Benjamin, by their generations, after their families, by the house of their fathers, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war;
37	베냐민 지파에서 조사된 사람은 35,400명이었다.	Those that were numbered of them, even of the tribe of Benjamin, were thirty and five thousand and four hundred.
38	단의 후손으로 태어난 남자들을 가문별로, 아버지 쪽 집안별로 조사했다. 20세 이상 남자 가운데서 군대에 갈 만한 모든 사람의 명수를 조사했다.	Of the children of Dan, by their generations, after their families, by the house of their fathers, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war;
39	단 지파에서 조사된 사람은 62,700명이었다.	Those that were numbered of them, even of the tribe of Dan, were threescore and two thousand and seven hundred.
40	아셀의 후손으로 태어난 남자들을 가문별로, 아버지 쪽 집안별로 조사했다. 20세 이상 남자 가운데서 군대에 갈 만한 모든 사람의 명수를 조사했다.	Of the children of Asher, by their generations, after their families, by the house of their fathers, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war;
41	아셀 지파에서 조사된 사람은 41,500명이었다.	Those that were numbered of them, even of the tribe of Asher, were forty and one thousand and five hundred.
42	납달리의 후손으로 태어난 남자들을 가문별로, 아버지 쪽 집안별로 조사했다. 20세 이상 남자 가운데서 군대에 갈 만한 모든 사람의 명수를 조사했다.	Of the children of Naphtali, throughout their generations, after their families, by the house of their fathers, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war;
43	납달리 지파에서 조사된 사람은 53,400명이었다.	Those that were numbered of them, even of the tribe of Naphtali, were fifty and three thousand and four hundred.
44	이들은 모세와 아론, 또 저마다 아버지 쪽 집안을 대표하는, 이스라엘의 우두머리 열두 명에게 조사된 사람들이다.	These are those that were numbered, which Moses and Aaron numbered, and the princes of Israel, being twelve men: each one was for the house of his fathers.
45	그들은 아버지 쪽 집안에 따라 조사된 모든 이스라엘 사람이다. 20세 이상 남자 가운데서 군대에 갈 만한 모든 사람이다.	So were all those that were numbered of the children of Israel, by the house of their fathers, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war in Israel;
46	조사된 사람은 모두 603,550명이었다.	Even all they that were numbered were six hundred thousand and three thousand and five hundred and fifty.
47	레위 사람들은 아버지 쪽 지파에 따라 그들의 수에 넣지 않았다.	But the Levites after the tribe of their fathers were not numbered among them.
48	여호와께서 모세에게 말씀하셨다.	For the Lord had spoken unto Moses, saying,
49	“다만 레위 지파에서는 그런 사람들의 수를 조사하지 마라. 이스라엘 사람들 가운데서 모두 얼마나 되는지 그들의 머릿수를 세지 마라.	Only thou shalt not number the tribe of Levi, neither take the sum of them among the children of Israel:
50	너는 내가 머무는 증언의 천막과 그 온갖 기구들과 그에 딸린 온갖 것을 레위 사람들에게 맡겨 돌보게 해야 한다. 그들이 내가 머무는 천막과 그 온갖 기구를 옮기고 그들이 그 천막을 보살피게 하여라. 그 천막을 빙 둘러 진을 치게 하여라.	But thou shalt appoint the Levites over the tabernacle of testimony, and over all the vessels thereof, and over all things that belong to it: they shall bear the tabernacle, and all the vessels thereof; and they shall minister unto it, and shall encamp round about the tabernacle.
51	내가 머무는 천막이 함께 길을 나설 때는, 레위 사람들이 그 천막을 접게 하여라. 천막을 칠 때에는, 레위 사람들이 천막을 세우게 하여라. 다른 사람이 가까이 오면 죽여야 한다.	And when the tabernacle setteth forward, the Levites shall take it down: and when the tabernacle is to be pitched, the Levites shall set it up: and the stranger that cometh nigh shall be put to death.
52	이스라엘 사람들은 각자 부대별로 자기 진영과 깃발 아래에 진을 치게 하여라.	And the children of Israel shall pitch their tents, every man by his own camp, and every man by his own standard, throughout their hosts.
53	레위 사람들은 내가 머무는 증언의 천막을 빙 돌아가며 진을 치게 하여라. 그렇게 해야 이스라엘 사람들의 무리가 나의 노여움을 사지 않을 것이다. 레위 사람들은 내가 머무는 증언의 천막을 잘 보살펴야 한다.”	But the Levites shall pitch round about the tabernacle of testimony, that there be no wrath upon the congregation of the children of Israel: and the Levites shall keep the charge of the tabernacle of testimony.
54	이스라엘 사람들은 그대로 실행했다. 여호와께서 모세에게 명령하신 대로 다 했다.	And the children of Israel did according to all that the Lord commanded Moses, so did they.
