1	더러움을 씻어 깨끗해지는 규정을 알려 주시다 여호와께서 모세와 아론에게 말씀하셨다.	And the Lord spake unto Moses and unto Aaron, saying,
2	“여호와가 명령한 율법 규정은 이러하다. 이스라엘 사람들에게 말하여, 멍에를 메어 본 적이 없는 흠 없이 성한 붉은 암소를 너에게 끌고 오게 하여라.	This is the ordinance of the law which the Lord hath commanded, saying, Speak unto the children of Israel, that they bring thee a red heifer without spot, wherein is no blemish, and upon which never came yoke:
3	너희는 그 암소를 엘르아살 제사장에게 넘겨주어서, 진영 밖으로 끌어내어 그의 앞에서 잡아 죽이게 하여라.	And ye shall give her unto Eleazar the priest, that he may bring her forth without the camp, and one shall slay her before his face:
4	엘르아살 제사장은 손가락으로 짐승의 피를 찍어, 만남의 천막 앞쪽으로 그 피를 일곱 번 뿌려야 한다.	And Eleazar the priest shall take of her blood with his finger, and sprinkle of her blood directly before the tabernacle of the congregation seven times:
5	그 암소는 그의 눈앞에서 불태워야 한다. 그 가죽과 고기와 피와 똥을 불태워야 한다.	And one shall burn the heifer in his sight; her skin, and her flesh, and her blood, with her dung, shall he burn:
6	제사장은 삼나무(백향목)와 히솝(우슬초)과 짙은 붉은색 실을 가져다가, 암소가 불타는 한가운데로 던져 넣어야 한다.	And the priest shall take cedar wood, and hyssop, and scarlet, and cast it into the midst of the burning of the heifer.
7	제사장은 옷을 빨고 몸을 물로 씻은 다음에 진영으로 와야 한다. 제사장은 저녁까지 깨끗하지 않다.	Then the priest shall wash his clothes, and he shall bathe his flesh in water, and afterward he shall come into the camp, and the priest shall be unclean until the even.
8	암소를 불태운 사람도 옷을 물에 넣어 빨고 몸을 물로 씻어야 한다. 그 사람도 저녁까지 깨끗하지 않다.	And he that burneth her shall wash his clothes in water, and bathe his flesh in water, and shall be unclean until the even.
9	불탄 암소의 재는 깨끗한 사람이 거두어서 진영 밖 깨끗한 곳에 두어야 한다. 그 재는 이스라엘 사람들의 무리를 위해 잘 간직해 두었다가 더러움 씻는 물을 마련할 때 써야 한다. 그것은 죄없애는제물(속죄제물)이다.	And a man that is clean shall gather up the ashes of the heifer, and lay them up without the camp in a clean place, and it shall be kept for the congregation of the children of Israel for a water of separation: it is a purification for sin.
10	불탄 암소의 재를 거둔 사람은 옷을 빨아야 한다. 그도 저녁까지 깨끗하지 않다. 이는 이스라엘 사람들뿐만 아니라 그들 가운데 머무는 나그네도 지킬 영원한 규정이다.	And he that gathereth the ashes of the heifer shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the even: and it shall be unto the children of Israel, and unto the stranger that sojourneth among them, for a statute for ever.
11	죽은 사람 곧 사람의 주검에 닿은 사람은 7일 동안 깨끗하지 않다.	He that toucheth the dead body of any man shall be unclean seven days.
12	그는 더러움 씻는 물로 셋째 날과 일곱째 날에 죄를 씻어야 한다. 그러면 깨끗해질 것이다. 셋째 날과 일곱째 날에 죄를 씻지 않으면, 깨끗해지지 않을 것이다.	He shall purify himself with it on the third day, and on the seventh day he shall be clean: but if he purify not himself the third day, then the seventh day he shall not be clean.
13	죽은 사람 곧 죽은 사람의 주검에 닿고서 죄를 씻지 않은 사람은 모두 여호와가 머무는 천막을 더러워지게 한 것이다. 그 사람은 이스라엘에서 잘려 나갈 것이다. 더러움 씻는 물을 그에게 뿌리지 않았으므로, 그는 깨끗하지 않다. 더러움이 아직 그에게 붙어 있다.	Whosoever toucheth the dead body of any man that is dead, and purifieth not himself, defileth the tabernacle of the Lord; and that soul shall be cut off from Israel: because the water of separation was not sprinkled upon him, he shall be unclean; his uncleanness is yet upon him.
14	천막에서 사람이 죽었을 때의 법규는 이러하다. 그 천막에 들어가는 사람과 천막에 있는 사람은 모두 7일 동안 깨끗하지 않다.	This is the law, when a man dieth in a tent: all that come into the tent, and all that is in the tent, shall be unclean seven days.
15	끈으로 동여맨 뚜껑으로 덮지 않고 열어 놓은 그릇은 무엇이든 깨끗하지 않다.	And every open vessel, which hath no covering bound upon it, is unclean.
16	들판에서, 칼에 맞아 죽은 사람이나 그냥 죽은 사람이나 사람의 뼈나 무덤에 닿았다고 하자. 그런 사람은 모두 7일 동안 깨끗하지 않다.	And whosoever toucheth one that is slain with a sword in the open fields, or a dead body, or a bone of a man, or a grave, shall be unclean seven days.
17	깨끗하지 않은 사람을 위해서는 죄없애는제물(속죄제물)을 불태운 재를 조금 가져다가 그릇에 담아야 한다. 그러고는 흐르는 물을 그 위에 부어야 한다.	And for an unclean person they shall take of the ashes of the burnt heifer of purification for sin, and running water shall be put thereto in a vessel:
18	깨끗한 사람이 히솝(우슬초)을 가져다가 그 물에 담가야 한다. 그러고는 그 천막과 모든 그릇과 거기에 있는 사람들에게 뿌려야 한다. 뼈나 칼에 맞아 죽은 사람이나 그냥 죽은 사람이나 무덤에 닿은 사람에게 뿌려야 한다.	And a clean person shall take hyssop, and dip it in the water, and sprinkle it upon the tent, and upon all the vessels, and upon the persons that were there, and upon him that touched a bone, or one slain, or one dead, or a grave:
19	깨끗한 사람이 깨끗하지 않은 사람에게 셋째 날과 일곱째 날에 뿌려야 한다. 일곱째 날에 그의 죄를 없애 주어야 한다. 깨끗하지 않은 사람이 옷을 빨고 물로 몸을 씻으면 저녁에 깨끗해진다.	And the clean person shall sprinkle upon the unclean on the third day, and on the seventh day: and on the seventh day he shall purify himself, and wash his clothes, and bathe himself in water, and shall be clean at even.
20	더러워지고도 죄를 없애지 않으면, 그 사람은 모임 가운데서 잘려 나갈 것이다. 여호와의 거룩한곳(성소)을 더러워지게 했기 때문이다. 더러움 씻는 물을 그에게 뿌리지 않았으므로, 그는 깨끗하지 않다.	But the man that shall be unclean, and shall not purify himself, that soul shall be cut off from among the congregation, because he hath defiled the sanctuary of the Lord: the water of separation hath not been sprinkled upon him; he is unclean.
21	이것은 그들이 지킬 영원한 규정이다. 더러움 씻는 물을 뿌린 사람도 옷을 빨아야 한다. 더러움 씻는 물을 만진 사람도 저녁까지 깨끗하지 않다.	And it shall be a perpetual statute unto them, that he that sprinkleth the water of separation shall wash his clothes; and he that toucheth the water of separation shall be unclean until even.
22	깨끗하지 않은 사람에게 닿은 것은 무엇이든 깨끗하지 않다. 그것에 닿은 사람도 저녁까지 깨끗하지 않다.”	And whatsoever the unclean person toucheth shall be unclean; and the soul that toucheth it shall be unclean until even.
