1	이스라엘을 다스릴 사람이 올 것이다 (예언자) 이제 그대의 몸에 생채기를 내세요, 딸이여, 그대 군대여! 적들이 우리를 에워쌌어요. 막대기로 그들이 이스라엘 통치자의 뺨을 때릴 것입니다.	Now gather thyself in troops, O daughter of troops: he hath laid siege against us: they shall smite the judge of Israel with a rod upon the cheek.
2	(하나님) “그런데 너는, 베들레헴 에브라다야, 유다의 가문들 가운데서 가장 하찮다. 그렇지만 너에게서 나를 위해 나올 것이다, 이스라엘을 다스릴 사람이! 그의 근본은 예전에까지, 옛날에까지 이른다.”	But thou, Beth–lehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting.
3	(예언자) 이러므로 여호와께서 그들을 적에게 넘겨주실 것입니다, 아이 낳을 여자가 아이를 낳을 때까지는! 그러고 나서 그의 형제들 가운데서 남은 사람들이 이스라엘 사람들에게로 돌아올 것입니다.	Therefore will he give them up, until the time that she which travaileth hath brought forth: then the remnant of his brethren shall return unto the children of Israel.
4	그 다스릴 사람이 일어서서 여호와의 능력으로 목자의 일을 할 것입니다. 여호와 그의 하나님의 이름의 위엄으로 그렇게 할 것입니다. 그러면 양들이 자리 잡고 머물 것입니다. 이제 그가 땅끝까지 위대해질 것이기 때문입니다.	And he shall stand and feed in the strength of the Lord, in the majesty of the name of the Lord his God; and they shall abide: for now shall he be great unto the ends of the earth.
5	그래서 이 사람이 평화가 될 것입니다. 아시리아가 우리의 땅으로 쳐들어와서 우리의 궁궐들을 짓밟을 것입니다. 그때 우리는 아시리아에 맞서 일곱 목자와 여덟 우두머리를 세울 것입니다.	And this man shall be the peace, when the Assyrian shall come into our land: and when he shall tread in our palaces, then shall we raise against him seven shepherds, and eight principal men.
6	그들이 칼을 써서 아시리아 땅에서 목자의 일을 할 것입니다. 니므롯 땅의 출입구들에서 그렇게 할 것입니다. 그가 우리를 아시리아한테서부터 빼낼 것입니다. 아시리아가 우리의 땅으로 쳐들어올 때, 우리의 영토를 짓밟을 때에.	And they shall waste the land of Assyria with the sword, and the land of Nimrod in the entrances thereof: thus shall he deliver us from the Assyrian, when he cometh into our land, and when he treadeth within our borders.
7	야곱의 남은 사람들 (예언자) 야곱의 남은 사람들이 많은 백성들 가운데 있을 것입니다. 그들은 여호와께로부터 내리는 이슬 같고, 푸성귀 위에 내리는 봄 소나기 같을 것입니다. 그래서 어떤 사람에게도 희망을 걸지 않고, 인간들을 애타게 기다리지 않을 것입니다.	And the remnant of Jacob shall be in the midst of many people as a dew from the Lord, as the showers upon the grass, that tarrieth not for man, nor waiteth for the sons of men.
8	야곱의 남은 사람들이 민족들 가운데, 많은 백성들 가운데 있을 것입니다. 그들은 숲의 짐승들 가운데 있는 사자 같고, 양 떼 가운데 있는 젊은 사자 같습니다. 그래서 그들이 지나가면서 밟고 잡아 찢어도 빼내 줄 사람이 없을 것입니다.	And the remnant of Jacob shall be among the Gentiles in the midst of many people as a lion among the beasts of the forest, as a young lion among the flocks of sheep: who, if he go through, both treadeth down, and teareth in pieces, and none can deliver.
9	그대의 손이 그대의 적들 위에 높이 들려서, 그대의 모든 원수가 끊어져 없어지기 바랍니다.	Thine hand shall be lifted up upon thine adversaries, and all thine enemies shall be cut off.
10	그날에 일어날 일 (하나님) “그날에 일어날 일이다. ― 여호와의 말씀입니다. ― 내가 너의 말들을 너의 가운데서부터 끊어 없애고, 너의 전투수레들을 망가뜨리겠다.	And it shall come to pass in that day, saith the Lord, that I will cut off thy horses out of the midst of thee, and I will destroy thy chariots:
11	내가 너의 땅의 도시들을 끊어 없애고, 너의 모든 요새를 헐어 버리겠다.	And I will cut off the cities of thy land, and throw down all thy strong holds:
12	내가 마술들을 너의 손에서부터 끊어 없애겠다. 마술사들이 너한테서 없어질 것이다.	And I will cut off witchcrafts out of thine hand; and thou shalt have no more soothsayers:
13	내가 너의 우상들과 돌기둥들을 너의 가운데서부터 끊어 없애겠다. 네가 더는 너의 손으로 만든 것에 엎드려 절하지 않을 것이다.	Thy graven images also will I cut off, and thy standing images out of the midst of thee; and thou shalt no more worship the work of thine hands.
14	내가 너의 아세라 말뚝들을 너의 가운데서부터 뽑아 버리고, 너의 도시들을 망가뜨리겠다.	And I will pluck up thy groves out of the midst of thee: so will I destroy thy cities.
15	내가 분노하고 노여워하면서 민족들에게 앙갚음하겠다. 이들은 나의 말을 듣지 않았다.”	And I will execute vengeance in anger and fury upon the heathen, such as they have not heard.
