1	예수님이 유혹을 물리치시다 그때에 예수님이 성령님에게 이끌려 광야로 가셨다. 거기서 마귀에게 유혹을 받으셨다.	Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil.
2	40일 동안 낮과 밤으로 금식하시고 나서 그 뒤에 예수님은 배가 고프셨다.	And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungred.
3	유혹하는 자가 다가와서 예수님께 말했다. “그대가 하나님의 아들이면, 이 돌들이 빵이 되라고 말해 보시오.”	And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.
4	예수님이 맞받아쳐 말씀하셨다. “성경에 이렇게 적혀 있다. ‘사람이 빵으로만 사는 것이 아니라 하나님의 입을 통해 나오는 모든 말씀으로 살 것이다.’”	But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
5	그때에 마귀가 예수님을 거룩한 도시로 데려간다. 그리고 예수님을 성전 꼭대기에 서시게 했다.	Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city, and setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple,
6	그러고는 말한다. “그대가 하나님의 아들이면, 몸을 아래로 내던져 보시오. 성경에 이렇게 적혀 있으니까요. ‘주님의 천사들에게 주님이 그대를 위해 명령하실 것이다. 그리고 천사들이 손바닥 위로 그대를 들어 올려 그대의 발이 돌에 부딪치지 않도록 할 것이다.’”	And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.
7	예수님이 마귀에게 말씀하셨다. “또 성경에 이렇게 적혀 있다. ‘주님, 곧 너의 하나님을 함부로 시험하지 마라.’”	Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.
8	다시 마귀가 예수님을 매우 높은 산으로 데려간다. 그리고 예수님께 세상의 모든 나라들과 그 영광을 보여 드린다.	Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them;
9	그러고는 예수님께 말했다. “이 모든 것을 그대에게 주겠소. 그대가 나에게 엎드려 절한다면 말이오.”	And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me.
10	그때에 예수님이 마귀에게 말씀하신다. “물러가거라, 사탄아! 성경에 이렇게 적혀 있다. ‘너는 주님, 곧 너의 하나님께 엎드려 절해야 한다. 그분만을 섬겨야 한다.’”	Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.
11	그때에 마귀가 예수님을 떠나간다. 그러자, 보라, 천사들이 다가와서 예수님을 시중들었다. (; )	Then the devil leaveth him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto him.
12	갈릴래아에서 선포하기 시작하시다 요한이 잡혀갔다는 말을 들으시고 예수님은 갈릴래아로 물러나셨다.	Now when Jesus had heard that John was cast into prison, he departed into Galilee;
13	그러고는 나사렛을 떠나 가버나움으로 가셔서 자리 잡고 사셨다. 가버나움은 스불론과 납달리 지역의 바닷가에 있었다.	And leaving Nazareth, he came and dwelt in Capernaum, which is upon the sea coast, in the borders of Zabulon and Nephthalim:
14	예언자 이사야를 통해 하신 말씀을 이루려고 하신 것이었다. 이런 말씀이었다.	That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying,
15	“스불론 땅과 납달리 땅, 곧 바닷길, 요르단 건너편에 있는 땅아! 다른 민족들의 갈릴래아야!	The land of Zabulon, and the land of Nephthalim, by the way of the sea, beyond Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles;
16	어둠 가운데 앉아 있는 백성이 빛을 보았다, 큰 빛을! 또 죽음의 그림자가 드리운 지역에 앉아 있는 사람들에게 빛이 떠올랐다, 바로 그들에게!”	The people which sat in darkness saw great light; and to them which sat in the region and shadow of death light is sprung up.
17	그때부터 예수님이 선포하여 말씀하기 시작하셨다. “회개하십시오! 하늘나라가 가까이 와 있습니다!” (; )	From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.
18	어부 네 명을 제자로 부르시다 예수님이 갈릴래아의 바닷가를 거닐다가 보시니 두 형제, 곧 베드로라 하는 시몬과 그의 형제 안드레가 바다에 그물을 던지고 있었다. 그들은 어부였다.	And Jesus, walking by the sea of Galilee, saw two brethren, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea: for they were fishers.
19	예수님이 그들에게 말씀하신다. “나를 뒤따라오세요. 그대들을 사람 건져 올리는 어부로 삼겠어요.”	And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.
20	그러자 그들이 곧바로 그물을 그대로 두고 예수님을 따라나섰다.	And they straightway left their nets, and followed him.
21	그리고 예수님이 거기서 조금 더 나아가신 뒤에 다른 두 명의 형제를 보셨다. 세베대의 아들 야고보와 그의 형제 요한이었다. 그들은 배에서 자기들의 아버지 세베대와 함께 그물을 손질하고 있었다. 예수님이 그들을 부르셨다.	And going on from thence, he saw other two brethren, James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, in a ship with Zebedee their father, mending their nets; and he called them.
22	그들은 곧바로 배와 자기들의 아버지를 그대로 두고 예수님을 따라나섰다. ()	And they immediately left the ship and their father, and followed him.
23	많은 무리들이 예수님께 나아오다 예수님이 온 갈릴래아에서 돌아다니시며 그들의 여러 회당에서 가르치기도 하시고 하늘나라 복음을 선포하기도 하셨다. 또 백성 가운데서 온갖 질병과 온갖 약한 것을 고쳐 주기도 하셨다.	And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people.
24	그러자 예수님의 소문이 시리아 전체로 퍼져 나갔다. 사람들은 앓는 사람들을 모두 예수님께 데려왔다. 그들은 이런저런 질병과 심한 고통에 시달리는 사람들, 귀신 들린 사람들, 뇌전증 앓는 사람들, 마비증에 시달리는 사람들이었다. 예수님이 그들을 고쳐 주셨다.	And his fame went throughout all Syria: and they brought unto him all sick people that were taken with divers diseases and torments, and those which were possessed with devils, and those which were lunatick, and those that had the palsy; and he healed them.
25	많은 무리들이 예수님을 따라갔다. 이들은 갈릴래아와 데카폴리스와 예루살렘과 유대아와 요르단 건너편에서 온 사람들이었다.	And there followed him great multitudes of people from Galilee, and from Decapolis, and from Jerusalem, and from Judea, and from beyond Jordan.
