절	새한글성경 (2024)	King James Version
1	자기소개와 인사 바울이네. 그리스도 예수님의 사도라네. 우리의 구원자 하나님과 우리의 희망 그리스도 예수님의 명령에 따라 사도가 되었지.	Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the commandment of God our Saviour, and Lord Jesus Christ, which is our hope;
2	디모데에게, 곧 믿음 안에서 나의 참된 아들인 그대에게 이 편지를 보내네. 은혜, 한결같은 사랑, 평화가 하나님 아버지와 그리스도 예수 우리 주님으로부터 내리기를 비네!	Unto Timothy, my own son in the faith: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God our Father and Jesus Christ our Lord.
3	거짓 가르침에 주의하라 마케도니아로 가면서 내가 그대에게 에페수스에 머물러 있으라고 부탁했었지. 그대가 몇몇 사람들에게 명령하여 그들이 다른 교리를 가르치지 못하게 하려는 것이었네.	As I besought thee to abide still at Ephesus, when I went into Macedonia, that thou mightest charge some that they teach no other doctrine,
4	또 신화와 끝없는 계보에 관심을 쏟지 못하게 하려는 것이었지. 이런 것들은 믿음 안에서 실현되는 하나님의 계획에 보탬이 되기보다는 쓸데없는 억측을 불러일으키는 것들일세.	Neither give heed to fables and endless genealogies, which minister questions, rather than godly edifying which is in faith: so do.
5	그 명령의 목적은 사랑이라네. 깨끗한 마음과 선한 양심과 꾸밈없는 믿음에서 솟아나는 사랑 말일세.	Now the end of the commandment is charity out of a pure heart, and of a good conscience, and of faith unfeigned:
6	그들 가운데 몇몇은 빗나가서 알맹이 없는 토론에 빠져 버렸지.	From which some having swerved have turned aside unto vain jangling;
7	그들은 율법 선생이 되고 싶어 하는데, 자기들이 무슨 말을 하는지도 또 자기들이 무슨 주장을 내세우고 있는지도 이해하지 못하고 있네.	Desiring to be teachers of the law; understanding neither what they say, nor whereof they affirm.
8	율법이 좋다는 것을 우리는 알고 있지. 사람이 적법하게 사용만 한다면 말일세.	But we know that the law is good, if a man use it lawfully;
9	이것을 알아 두어야 하네. 율법이 마련된 것은 의인 때문이 아니네. 무법한 사람들과 제멋대로인 사람들, 불경건한 사람들과 죄짓는 사람들, 하늘 무서운 줄 모르는 사람들과 세상에 물든 사람들 때문이네. 아버지를 죽이는 사람들과 어머니를 죽이는 사람들, 살인하는 사람들 때문이네.	Knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers,
10	음란한 짓 하는 사람들, 남자와 잠자리하는 남자들, 사람을 팔아먹는 사람들, 거짓말하는 사람들, 맹세를 어기고 위증하는 사람들 때문이지. 또 그 밖에 건전한 가르침에 맞서 다른 짓을 하는 사람들 때문이지.	For whoremongers, for them that defile themselves with mankind, for menstealers, for liars, for perjured persons, and if there be any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine;
11	건전한 가르침은 복되신 하나님의 영광스러운 복음에 어울리는 것이네. 그 복음을 바로 나한테, 믿고 맡겨 주셨네.	According to the glorious gospel of the blessed God, which was committed to my trust.
12	섬김의 직무를 맡겨 주신 것에 대한 감사 나는 감사드린다네. 나를 능력 있게 하신 그리스도 예수 우리 주님께 말일세. 주님이 나를 믿을 만하다고 여기셔서 섬김의 직무를 맡겨 주셨기 때문이지.	And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who hath enabled me, for that he counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry;
13	이전에 나는 하나님을 모독하던 사람, 박해하던 사람, 시건방진 사람이었네. 그런데도 주님이 나에게 한결같은 사랑을 베푸셨네. 내가 믿지 않을 때 모르고 그렇게 했기 때문이지.	Who was before a blasphemer, and a persecutor, and injurious: but I obtained mercy, because I did it ignorantly in unbelief.
14	우리 주님의 은혜가 나에게 흘러넘쳤네. 그리스도 예수님 안에서 자라난 믿음과 사랑도 함께 흘러넘쳤네.	And the grace of our Lord was exceeding abundant with faith and love which is in Christ Jesus.
15	이 말씀은 믿을 만하고, 전적으로 받아들일 만하네. 곧 그리스도 예수님이 세상에 오신 것은 죄인들을 구원하시기 위해서라는 말씀 말일세. 바로 내가 죄인들 가운데 으뜸이네.	This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.
16	그렇지만 이런 까닭에 내가 한결같은 사랑을 받았지. 그것은 먼저 나를 본보기로 삼아, 그리스도 예수님이 무한히 참으셨다는 것을 보여 주려고 하신 걸세. 머지않아 예수님을 믿어 영원한 생명에 이르게 될 사람들의 본보기가 되도록 하신 것이지.	Howbeit for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might shew forth all longsuffering, for a pattern to them which should hereafter believe on him to life everlasting.
17	영원하신 임금, 썩지 않고 보이지 않고 한 분뿐인 하나님께, 명예와 영광이 영원토록 있기를! 아멘!	Now unto the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God, be honour and glory for ever and ever. Amen.
18	디모데에게 책임을 일깨우다 아들 디모데! 이 지시를 내가 그대에게 맡겨 두네. 이것은 그대한테 이전에 내리신 여러 예언에 따른 것일세. 그 예언들에 힘입어 선한 싸움을 싸우도록 하시게.	This charge I commit unto thee, son Timothy, according to the prophecies which went before on thee, that thou by them mightest war a good warfare;
19	믿음과 선한 양심을 지니시게. 몇몇은 이 양심을 밀쳐 내 버렸고 믿음에서는 파선을 당했네.	Holding faith, and a good conscience; which some having put away concerning faith have made shipwreck:
20	그렇게 된 사람들 가운데 후메나이오스와 알렉산더가 있지. 나는 그들을 사탄에게 넘겨주었네. 그것은 그들이 벌을 받아 교훈을 얻어 하나님을 모독하지 못하도록 하기 위해서였네.	Of whom is Hymeneus and Alexander; whom I have delivered unto Satan, that they may learn not to blaspheme.
