1	네 짐승 환상 바빌론 임금 벨사살 첫째 해였다. 다니엘이 침대에서 그의 머릿속으로 꿈과 여러 환상을 보았다. 그때 그는 그 꿈을 기록하여 일들의 요점을 말했다.	In the first year of Belshazzar king of Babylon Daniel had a dream and visions of his head upon his bed: then he wrote the dream, and told the sum of the matters.
2	다니엘이 말했다. “내가 밤에 여러 환상 가운데서 보고 있었는데, 아, 하늘의 네 바람이 큰 바다를 일렁이게 하는 것이 아닙니까!	Daniel spake and said, I saw in my vision by night, and, behold, the four winds of the heaven strove upon the great sea.
3	네 마리의 큰 짐승이 그 바다에서 올라왔습니다. 모습이 서로 달랐습니다.	And four great beasts came up from the sea, diverse one from another.
4	첫째는 사자 같았는데 독수리의 날개가 있었습니다. 내가 보고 있었는데, 이런, 그 짐승의 날개가 뽑혀 있는 것이 아닙니까! 짐승은 땅에서부터 들려 있었고 사람처럼 두 발로 서 있게 되었습니다. 또 사람의 마음이 짐승에게 주어졌습니다.	The first was like a lion, and had eagle’s wings: I beheld till the wings thereof were plucked, and it was lifted up from the earth, and made stand upon the feet as a man, and a man’s heart was given to it.
5	그런데, 아, 다른 짐승, 둘째 짐승이 나타난 것이 아닙니까! 곰을 닮았는데 몸 한쪽이 일으켜져 있었습니다. 세 개의 갈비뼈가 짐승 입에, 이빨 사이에 있었습니다. 누군가가 짐승에게 말했습니다. ‘일어나라. 살코기를 많이 먹어라.’	And behold another beast, a second, like to a bear, and it raised up itself on one side, and it had three ribs in the mouth of it between the teeth of it: and they said thus unto it, Arise, devour much flesh.
6	그런 다음에 내가 보고 있었는데, 이런, 또 다른 짐승, 표범 같은 짐승이 나타난 것이 아닙니까! 새의 날개 넷이 짐승의 등에 있었습니다. 네 개의 머리도 그 짐승에게 있었습니다. 통치권이 그에게 주어졌습니다.	After this I beheld, and lo another, like a leopard, which had upon the back of it four wings of a fowl; the beast had also four heads; and dominion was given to it.
7	그런 다음에 나는 밤의 환상들 가운데서 보고 있었는데, 이런, 넷째 짐승이 나타난 것이 아닙니까! 짐승은 무섭고 끔찍하고 매우 강했습니다. 쇠로 된 큰 이빨이 짐승에게 있었습니다. 짐승은 집어삼키고 부서뜨렸습니다. 남은 것을 발로 짓밟았습니다. 그 짐승은 앞서 있었던 다른 모든 짐승과 달랐습니다. 뿔 열 개가 짐승에게 있었습니다.	After this I saw in the night visions, and behold a fourth beast, dreadful and terrible, and strong exceedingly; and it had great iron teeth: it devoured and brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with the feet of it: and it was diverse from all the beasts that were before it; and it had ten horns.
8	내가 그 뿔들을 눈여겨보고 있었는데, 앗, 다른 뿔, 작은 뿔 하나가 그 뿔들 사이에서 올라오는 것이 아닙니까! 앞서 있던 뿔 가운데서 세 개가 그 뿔 앞에서 뽑혀 버렸습니다. 그런데, 아, 이 뿔에는 사람 눈 같은 눈이 있는 것이 아닙니까! 입은 건방진 말을 하고 있었습니다.”	I considered the horns, and, behold, there came up among them another little horn, before whom there were three of the first horns plucked up by the roots: and, behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of man, and a mouth speaking great things.
9	인자 같은 분의 환상 “내가 보고 있었는데, 아, 임금자리들이 놓여 있었고 아주 연세 높은 모습을 하신 하나님이 앉아 계시는 것이 아닙니까! 하나님의 옷은 흰 눈 같았고 머리카락은 깨끗한 양털 같았습니다. 하나님의 임금자리는 불꽃이었고, 임금자리의 바퀴는 타는 불이었습니다.	I beheld till the thrones were cast down, and the Ancient of days did sit, whose garment was white as snow, and the hair of his head like the pure wool: his throne was like the fiery flame, and his wheels as burning fire.
10	불의 강이 하나님 앞에서 흘러나오고 있었습니다. 수천의 천사가 하나님을 섬기고 있었고, 수만의 천사가 하나님 앞에 서 있었습니다. 재판이 열렸고 책들이 펼쳐져 있었습니다.	A fiery stream issued and came forth from before him: thousand thousands ministered unto him, and ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him: the judgment was set, and the books were opened.
11	나는 그때 보고 있었습니다. 말하고 있는 그 뿔의 건방진 말소리 때문이었습니다. 내가 보고 있었습니다. 마침내 그 짐승은 살해되었습니다. 그 몸은 망가졌고 불태우도록 넘겨졌습니다.	I beheld then because of the voice of the great words which the horn spake: I beheld even till the beast was slain, and his body destroyed, and given to the burning flame.
12	나머지 짐승들은 그들의 통치권을 빼앗겼습니다. 그렇지만 그들에게는 시간과 기간이 될 때까지 더 살아 있는 것이 허락되었습니다.	As concerning the rest of the beasts, they had their dominion taken away: yet their lives were prolonged for a season and time.
13	나는 보고 있었습니다, 밤의 여러 환상 가운데서요. 그런데, 아, 하늘의 구름과 함께 인자 같은 분이 오고 계시는 것이 아닙니까! 아주 연세 높은 모습을 하신 하나님께 그분이 이르렀습니다. 그러자 누군가 그분을 하나님 앞으로 모셔다드렸습니다.	I saw in the night visions, and, behold, one like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him.
14	그분에게 통치권과 존엄함과 왕국이 주어졌습니다. 그래서 서로 다른 민족과 국가와 언어 공동체에 속한 모든 사람이 그분을 섬겨야 했습니다. 그분의 통치는 없어지지 않을 영원한 통치입니다. 그분의 왕국은 멸망하지 않을 것입니다.”	And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should serve him: his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed.
15	환상의 뜻풀이 “나 다니엘은 속으로 걱정하게 되었습니다. 머리로 본 여러 환상 때문에 겁이 났습니다.	I Daniel was grieved in my spirit in the midst of my body, and the visions of my head troubled me.
16	서 있는 천사들 가운데 하나에게 내가 다가가서 그에게 이 모든 것의 진실을 물었습니다. 그가 내게 말했습니다. 그 일들의 뜻을 풀어 알려 주었습니다.	I came near unto one of them that stood by, and asked him the truth of all this. So he told me, and made me know the interpretation of the things.
17	‘이 큰 짐승들은 네 마리라오. 이것들은 땅에서 일어날 네 임금이오.	These great beasts, which are four, are four kings, which shall arise out of the earth.
18	그 왕국은 가장 높으신 하나님의 거룩한 사람들이 받을 것이오. 그들은 그 왕국을 영원에 이르도록 차지하게 될 것이오, 영원의 영원에 이르도록!’	But the saints of the most High shall take the kingdom, and possess the kingdom for ever, even for ever and ever.
19	그러고 나서 나는 넷째 짐승에 대한 진실을 알고 싶었는데, 그것은 다른 모든 짐승과는 달랐습니다. 매우 무서웠습니다. 이빨은 쇠이고 발톱은 놋이었습니다. 집어삼키고 부서뜨리고, 남은 것을 발로 짓밟았던 짐승입니다.	Then I would know the truth of the fourth beast, which was diverse from all the others, exceeding dreadful, whose teeth were of iron, and his nails of brass; which devoured, brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with his feet;
20	또 짐승의 머리에 있던 뿔 열 개에 대해서도 나는 알고 싶었습니다. 나중에 올라온 다른 뿔에 대해서도 알고 싶었습니다. 이 뿔 앞에서 뿔 세 개가 거꾸러졌습니다. 이 뿔에는 눈들이 있었고, 건방진 말을 하는 입도 있었습니다. 이 뿔은 다른 뿔들보다 커 보였습니다.	And of the ten horns that were in his head, and of the other which came up, and before whom three fell; even of that horn that had eyes, and a mouth that spake very great things, whose look was more stout than his fellows.
21	내가 보고 있자니, 이 뿔이 거룩한 사람들과 전쟁을 하고 있었습니다. 그들을 이기고 있었습니다.	I beheld, and the same horn made war with the saints, and prevailed against them;
22	마침내 아주 연세 높은 모습을 하신 하나님이 오셨습니다. 가장 높으신 하나님의 거룩한 사람들을 위하여 재판이 열렸습니다. 때가 되어서 그 왕국을 거룩한 사람들이 차지했습니다.	Until the Ancient of days came, and judgment was given to the saints of the most High; and the time came that the saints possessed the kingdom.
23	나에게 진실을 알려 주던 천사가 이렇게 말했습니다. ‘넷째 짐승은 넷째 왕국이오. 그 왕국이 땅에 생길 것인데, 다른 모든 왕국과는 다를 것이오. 온 땅을 집어삼키고 짓밟고 부서뜨릴 것이오.	Thus he said, The fourth beast shall be the fourth kingdom upon earth, which shall be diverse from all kingdoms, and shall devour the whole earth, and shall tread it down, and break it in pieces.
24	뿔 열 개는 그 왕국에서 열 명의 임금이 일어날 것이라는 뜻이오. 그들 다음에 다른 사람이 일어날 것인데, 그는 이전 사람들과는 다를 것이고 세 명의 임금을 낮출 것이오.	And the ten horns out of this kingdom are ten kings that shall arise: and another shall rise after them; and he shall be diverse from the first, and he shall subdue three kings.
25	그는 가장 높으신 하나님을 거스르는 말들을 할 것이고, 가장 높으신 하나님의 거룩한 사람들을 마구 괴롭힐 것이오. 명절들과 법도 바꾸려 할 것이오. 거룩한 사람들이 1년과 2년과 반 년까지 그의 손에 넘어가 있을 것이오.	And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.
26	그러고서 재판이 열릴 것이오. 그는 통치권을 빼앗길 것이고, 완전히 뿌리 뽑혀 멸망할 것이오.	But the judgment shall sit, and they shall take away his dominion, to consume and to destroy it unto the end.
27	왕국과 통치권, 또 온 하늘 아래에 있는 왕국들의 위대함이 가장 높으신 하나님의 거룩한 백성에게 주어질 것이오. 그들의 왕국은 영원한 왕국이며, 모든 통치자들이 그들을 섬기고 그들에게 복종할 것이오.’	And the kingdom and dominion, and the greatness of the kingdom under the whole heaven, shall be given to the people of the saints of the most High, whose kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey him.
28	마침내 여기서 이 일이 끝났습니다. 나 다니엘은 여러 생각이 들면서 매우 겁이 났습니다. 나의 얼굴빛이 달라졌습니다. 그러나 그 일을 나의 마음속에 담아 두었습니다.”	Hitherto is the end of the matter. As for me Daniel, my cogitations much troubled me, and my countenance changed in me: but I kept the matter in my heart.
