절	새한글성경 (2024)	King James Version
1	이스라엘 사람들이 금식하며 엎드리다 이달 스물넷째 날에 이스라엘 사람들이 모여서 거친 천을 걸치고 흙을 뒤집어쓴 채 금식하고 있었다.	Now in the twenty and fourth day of this month the children of Israel were assembled with fasting, and with sackclothes, and earth upon them.
2	이스라엘의 후손은 다른 나라의 모든 사람들에게서 떨어져 나왔고, 일어서서 자신들의 죄와 자기네 조상들의 잘못을 털어놓았다.	And the seed of Israel separated themselves from all strangers, and stood and confessed their sins, and the iniquities of their fathers.
3	그들은 자기 자리에 서 있었다. 하루의 4분의 1은 여호와 그들의 하나님의 율법책을 읽었다. 4분의 1은 여호와 그들의 하나님께 마음을 털어놓으며 엎드려 절했다.	And they stood up in their place, and read in the book of the law of the Lord their God one fourth part of the day; and another fourth part they confessed, and worshipped the Lord their God.
4	강단에는 레위 사람들, 곧 예수아, 바니, 갓미엘, 스바냐, 분니, 세레뱌, 바니, 그나니가 올라섰다. 그들은 큰 소리로 여호와 그들의 하나님께 외쳤다.	Then stood up upon the stairs, of the Levites, Jeshua, and Bani, Kadmiel, Shebaniah, Bunni, Sherebiah, Bani, and Chenani, and cried with a loud voice unto the Lord their God.
5	레위 사람들, 곧 예수아, 갓미엘, 바니, 하삽느야, 세레뱌, 호디야, 스바냐, 브다히야가 말했다. “(백성에게) 일어나십시오. 여호와 여러분의 하나님을 영원부터 영원까지 찬양하십시오. (기도) 주님의 영광스러운 이름을 찬양하게 하십시오. 그 이름은 어떤 찬양이나 찬송보다 더 높이 올려져 있습니다.”	Then the Levites, Jeshua, and Kadmiel, Bani, Hashabniah, Sherebiah, Hodijah, Shebaniah, and Pethahiah, said, Stand up and bless the Lord your God for ever and ever: and blessed be thy glorious name, which is exalted above all blessing and praise.
6	찬미와 고백 “주님이야말로 여호와이십니다, 오직 주님만이! 주님이 하늘을 만드셨습니다. 하늘 위의 하늘과 거기에 있는 모든 군대들을. 땅과 그 위에 있는 모든 것을. 바다와 그 안에 있는 모든 것을. 바로 주님께서 그 모든 것을 살게 하십니다. 하늘 군대가 주님께 엎드려 절하고 있습니다.	Thou, even thou, art Lord alone; thou hast made heaven, the heaven of heavens, with all their host, the earth, and all things that are therein, the seas, and all that is therein, and thou preservest them all; and the host of heaven worshippeth thee.
7	주님이야말로 여호와 하나님이십니다. 아브람을 뽑으셔서 칼데아 땅 우르에서 이끌어 내셨습니다. 그의 이름을 아브라함이라 불러 주셨습니다.	Thou art the Lord the God, who didst choose Abram, and broughtest him forth out of Ur of the Chaldees, and gavest him the name of Abraham;
8	주님이 보시니 그의 마음이 주님 앞에서 믿을 만했습니다. 그래서 그에게 언약하셨습니다. 가나안 사람들, 히타이트 사람들, 아모리 사람들, 브리스 사람들, 여부스 사람들, 기르가스 사람들의 땅을 주시겠다고요. 그의 후손에게 주시겠다고요. 주님은 주님께서 하신 말씀을 이루셨습니다. 주님은 공의로우시니까요.	And foundest his heart faithful before thee, and madest a covenant with him to give the land of the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Jebusites, and the Girgashites, to give it, I say, to his seed, and hast performed thy words; for thou art righteous:
9	주님은 우리 조상들이 이집트에 있을 때 그들의 고난을 보셨습니다. 홍해에서 그들이 부르짖는 소리를 들어 주셨습니다.	And didst see the affliction of our fathers in Egypt, and heardest their cry by the Red sea;
10	파라오와 그의 모든 신하들과 그 땅 온 백성이 보는 데서 징조와 증표를 주셨습니다. 그들이 우리 조상들을 제멋대로 다룬다는 사실을 아셨던 것입니다. 그래서 주님은 오늘과 같이 주님의 이름을 떨치셨습니다.	And shewedst signs and wonders upon Pharaoh, and on all his servants, and on all the people of his land: for thou knewest that they dealt proudly against them. So didst thou get thee a name, as it is this day.
11	주님이 그들 앞에서 바다를 가르셨고, 그들이 바다 한가운데로 마른땅을 밟으며 건너갔지요. 그들을 뒤쫓던 사람들을 주님이 깊은 바다에 던지셨지요. 거센 바다에 돌덩이를 던지심 같았지요.	And thou didst divide the sea before them, so that they went through the midst of the sea on the dry land; and their persecutors thou threwest into the deeps, as a stone into the mighty waters.
12	낮에는 구름기둥으로 그들을 이끄시고, 밤에는 불기둥으로 그들이 가는 길을 비추셨습니다.	Moreover thou leddest them in the day by a cloudy pillar; and in the night by a pillar of fire, to give them light in the way wherein they should go.
13	시나이산에 내려오시고, 하늘에서 그들과 말씀하셨습니다. 그들에게 올곧은 법규, 참된 율법, 훌륭한 규정과 명령을 주셨습니다.	Thou camest down also upon mount Sinai, and spakest with them from heaven, and gavest them right judgments, and true laws, good statutes and commandments:
14	주님의 거룩한 안식일을 그들에게 알려 주셨습니다. 주님의 종 모세의 손을 통해 명령, 규정, 율법을 그들에게 내리셨습니다.	And madest known unto them thy holy sabbath, and commandedst them precepts, statutes, and laws, by the hand of Moses thy servant:
15	그들이 굶주릴 때 하늘에서 빵을 주셨고, 그들이 목마를 때 바위에서 물을 내 주셨습니다. 그들에게 그 땅을 차지하러 가라 하셨습니다. 반드시 주시겠다고 손을 들어 약속해 주신 땅이었습니다.	And gavest them bread from heaven for their hunger, and broughtest forth water for them out of the rock for their thirst, and promisedst them that they should go in to possess the land which thou hadst sworn to give them.
16	우리 조상들인 그들은 제멋대로 굴었습니다. 목을 뻣뻣하게 하고서 주님 명령을 듣지 않았습니다.	But they and our fathers dealt proudly, and hardened their necks, and hearkened not to thy commandments,
17	그들은 듣기를 마다했습니다. 기억하지 않았습니다, 주님이 그들 가운데 해 주신 놀라운 일들을. 목을 뻣뻣하게 하고서 한 우두머리를 세웠습니다. 돌아가 다시 종으로 살려고 했습니다, 주님을 거스르면서. 그러나 주님은 용서의 하나님, 불쌍히 여겨 주시는 하나님, 자비로우신 하나님이십니다. 오래 참으시는 하나님, 한결같은 사랑이 많으신 하나님이십니다. 그래서 그들을 저버리지 않으셨습니다.	And refused to obey, neither were mindful of thy wonders that thou didst among them; but hardened their necks, and in their rebellion appointed a captain to return to their bondage: but thou art a God ready to pardon, gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and forsookest them not.
18	그들은 송아지를 부어 만든 다음에 말했습니다. ‘이것이 이집트에서 너희를 이끌어 내신 너희의 하나님이다.’ 그렇게 차마 입에 담을 수도 없는 일을 했습니다.	Yea, when they had made them a molten calf, and said, This is thy God that brought thee up out of Egypt, and had wrought great provocations;
19	주님은 한없이 자비로우셔서 그들을 광야에 버리지 않으셨습니다. 낮에는 구름기둥이 그들을 떠나지 않고 그들의 길잡이가 되었습니다. 밤에는 불기둥이 그들 가는 길을 비추었습니다.	Yet thou in thy manifold mercies forsookest them not in the wilderness: the pillar of the cloud departed not from them by day, to lead them in the way; neither the pillar of fire by night, to shew them light, and the way wherein they should go.
20	또한 주님의 좋은 영을 주셔서 그들을 가르치셨습니다. 그들의 입에 늘 만나가 끊이지 않게 하셨고, 목마를 때 그들에게 물을 주셨습니다.	Thou gavest also thy good spirit to instruct them, and withheldest not thy manna from their mouth, and gavest them water for their thirst.
21	40년간 그들을 광야에서 보살피셨습니다. 그들은 아쉬울 것이 없었습니다. 그들의 옷은 해어지지 않았고, 그들의 발은 부르트지 않았습니다.	Yea, forty years didst thou sustain them in the wilderness, so that they lacked nothing; their clothes waxed not old, and their feet swelled not.
22	주님이 그들에게 여러 나라와 백성을 주셨습니다. 구석구석을 그들에게 차지할 몫으로 주셨습니다. 그들은 시혼의 땅, 헤스본 임금의 땅을 차지했습니다. 바산 임금 옥의 땅을 차지했습니다.	Moreover thou gavest them kingdoms and nations, and didst divide them into corners: so they possessed the land of Sihon, and the land of the king of Heshbon, and the land of Og king of Bashan.
23	주님이 그들의 자손을 하늘의 별처럼 많게 하셨고, 그 땅에 들어가게 하셨습니다. 그들의 조상들에게 가서 차지하라 하셨던 그 땅입니다.	Their children also multipliedst thou as the stars of heaven, and broughtest them into the land, concerning which thou hadst promised to their fathers, that they should go in to possess it.
24	그 자손들이 가서 그 땅을 차지했습니다. 주님은 그 땅에 살고 있던 가나안 사람들을 그들 앞에 무릎 꿇게 하셨습니다. 그 사람들과 그들의 임금들과 그 땅 여러 백성을 그들 손에 넘겨주셨습니다. 그들 모두를 자기 좋을 대로 할 수 있게 하신 것입니다.	So the children went in and possessed the land, and thou subduedst before them the inhabitants of the land, the Canaanites, and gavest them into their hands, with their kings, and the people of the land, that they might do with them as they would.
25	그들은 튼튼한 도시들과 기름진 땅을 빼앗았습니다. 온갖 좋은 것들로 가득 찬 집들과 바위를 파서 만든 우물과 포도밭과 올리브밭과 먹을거리 많은 과일나무를 차지했습니다. 배불리 먹고 기름기가 흘렀습니다. 주님이 넉넉히 주신 좋은 것을 마음껏 누렸습니다.	And they took strong cities, and a fat land, and possessed houses full of all goods, wells digged, vineyards, and oliveyards, and fruit trees in abundance: so they did eat, and were filled, and became fat, and delighted themselves in thy great goodness.
26	그런데 그들은 말을 듣지 않고 주님께 맞서 대들었습니다. 주님의 율법을 등 뒤로 팽개쳤습니다. 주님의 예언자들을 죽였습니다, 주님께로 돌아가라 타일렀던 예언자들을. 그렇게 차마 입에 담을 수도 없는 일을 했습니다.	Nevertheless they were disobedient, and rebelled against thee, and cast thy law behind their backs, and slew thy prophets which testified against them to turn them to thee, and they wrought great provocations.
27	주님은 그들을 적들에게 넘기셨고, 적들은 그들을 힘들게 했습니다. 어려움을 겪을 때 그들이 주님께 부르짖었습니다. 주님은 하늘에서 들으셨습니다. 주님의 자비가 컸기 때문에 건져 낼 사람들을 그들에게 보내셨습니다. 그 사람들이 그들을 적들의 손에서 건져 내었습니다.	Therefore thou deliveredst them into the hand of their enemies, who vexed them: and in the time of their trouble, when they cried unto thee, thou heardest them from heaven; and according to thy manifold mercies thou gavest them saviours, who saved them out of the hand of their enemies.
28	한숨 돌리고 나자, 그들은 다시 주님 앞에서 나쁜 짓을 했습니다. 주님이 그들을 원수들의 손에 내버려두셨고, 원수들이 그들을 다스렸습니다. 그들이 돌아와 주님께 부르짖었고, 주님은 하늘에서 들으셨습니다. 주님의 자비가 컸기 때문에 때마다 빼내 주셨습니다.	But after they had rest, they did evil again before thee: therefore leftest thou them in the hand of their enemies, so that they had the dominion over them: yet when they returned, and cried unto thee, thou heardest them from heaven; and many times didst thou deliver them according to thy mercies;
29	주님은 그들이 주님의 율법으로 돌아오게 하려고 타일렀습니다. 그러나 그들은 제멋대로 굴면서 주님의 명령을 듣지 않고 주님의 법규를 어겨 죄를 지었습니다. 사람이 그 법규를 지키면 그 안에서 살 수 있는데 말입니다. 어깨를 꼿꼿이 펴고 목을 뻣뻣하게 하면서 들으려 하지 않았습니다.	And testifiedst against them, that thou mightest bring them again unto thy law: yet they dealt proudly, and hearkened not unto thy commandments, but sinned against thy judgments, (which if a man do, he shall live in them;) and withdrew the shoulder, and hardened their neck, and would not hear.
30	주님은 그들을 두고 여러 해를 참으셨습니다. 주님의 영으로 예언자들의 손을 빌려 타이르셨습니다. 그러나 그들은 귀 기울이지 않았습니다. 그래서 주님은 그들을 그 땅 여러 백성의 손에 넘기셨습니다.	Yet many years didst thou forbear them, and testifiedst against them by thy spirit in thy prophets: yet would they not give ear: therefore gavest thou them into the hand of the people of the lands.
31	주님의 자비가 크셔서 그들을 끝장내지 않으셨습니다. 그들을 저버리지 않으셨습니다. 주님은 불쌍히 여겨 주시고 자비로우신 하나님이시기 때문입니다.	Nevertheless for thy great mercies’ sake thou didst not utterly consume them, nor forsake them; for thou art a gracious and merciful God.
32	이제, 우리 하나님, 크고 힘 있고 두려운 하나님, 언약하신 것과 한결같은 사랑을 지키시는 하나님! 우리가 주님 앞에서 고생한 것을 무엇 하나 가볍게 여기지 말아 주십시오. 우리 임금들, 관리들, 제사장들, 예언자들, 조상들, 주님의 온 백성이 겪었던 일입니다. 아시리아 임금들 때부터 오늘까지 겪었습니다.	Now therefore, our God, the great, the mighty, and the terrible God, who keepest covenant and mercy, let not all the trouble seem little before thee, that hath come upon us, on our kings, on our princes, and on our priests, and on our prophets, and on our fathers, and on all thy people, since the time of the kings of Assyria unto this day.
33	주님은 공의로우셨습니다, 우리에게 일어났던 모든 일에 대해서. 주님은 참된 일을 하셨는데, 우리 자신은 불의하게 처신했던 것입니다.	Howbeit thou art just in all that is brought upon us; for thou hast done right, but we have done wickedly:
34	우리 임금들과 관리들과 제사장들과 조상들은 주님의 가르침대로 살지 않았습니다. 주님의 명령들과 주님이 그들에게 증언하신 증언들을 주의 깊게 듣지 않았습니다.	Neither have our kings, our princes, our priests, nor our fathers, kept thy law, nor hearkened unto thy commandments and thy testimonies, wherewith thou didst testify against them.
35	그들은 자기네 나라에서, 주님이 주신 좋은 것을 한껏 누리고 있었습니다. 주님이 그들 앞에 주신 드넓고 기름진 땅에 살고 있었습니다. 그러나 주님을 섬기지 않았습니다. 자기들이 하는 나쁜 행동에서 돌아서지 않았습니다.	For they have not served thee in their kingdom, and in thy great goodness that thou gavest them, and in the large and fat land which thou gavest before them, neither turned they from their wicked works.
36	보십시오, 우리는 오늘 종으로 살고 있습니다. 주님이 우리 조상들에게 주신 땅, 거기서 나는 열매와 좋은 것을 먹으라고 주신 땅, 보십시오, 그 땅에서 우리는 종으로 살고 있습니다.	Behold, we are servants this day, and for the land that thou gavest unto our fathers to eat the fruit thereof and the good thereof, behold, we are servants in it:
37	거기서 많이 거두어들인 것은 임금들의 것입니다. 우리 죄를 벌하시려고 주님이 우리 위에 세우신 임금들입니다. 우리 몸도 우리 가축도 자기들 좋을 대로 부립니다. 우리는 큰 어려움을 겪고 있습니다.”	And it yieldeth much increase unto the kings whom thou hast set over us because of our sins: also they have dominion over our bodies, and over our cattle, at their pleasure, and we are in great distress.
38	굳게 약속한 사람들 우리는 이 모든 것을 두고 맹세하면서 글로 적어 두었다. 우리의 관리들, 우리의 레위 사람들, 우리의 제사장들이 도장을 찍었다.	And because of all this we make a sure covenant, and write it; and our princes, Levites, and priests, seal unto it.
